Bundles of Joy for Merdeka Babies

Babies born at Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur (GKL) on 31st August 2012 had a special surprise waiting for them. Each baby born on Merdeka this year received a ‘Merdeka Baby Package’ by Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur and Fisher-Price worth RM1,250 each.

“Hari Merdeka is a day which resonates strongly within Malaysians across all ages, races and creeds. It is a celebration of Malaysian tenacity and our ability to thrive as a nation. We are excited to celebrate and welcome these babies who have arrived on the same day that our nation was born 55 years ago,” said Adeline Abdul Ghani, Assistant Manager, Public Relations and Communications of GKL.

Each ‘Merdeka Baby Package’ consists of baby hamper set, health screening package and special dinner by GKL and a ‘Joy of Learning Starter Kit’ by Fisher-Price worth RM550. The Starter Kit includes Fisher-Price’s Healthy Care Booster Seat and Newborn to Toddler Rocker.

“Babies begin to learn from their surroundings the moment they draw their first breath. Every waking moment provides them with infinite opportunities to learn about their world. At Fisher-Price, we understand the importance of play for children and how it is integral to their cognitive development. We hope these starter kits will help instill the joy of learning in children and also develop the same determination and ingenuity which makes this nation as strong as it is today,” said, Wong Lai Kwan, Brand Manager of Mattel South East Asia, Pte Ltd.

To further spread the joy of this festive season, Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur will also be providing their inpatients with a variety of treats to improve their medical experience within this medical centre, located along Jalan Ampang.
