Fattoush

I went to my regular Arabic restaurant Wadi al-nile again while waiting for my son to finish his class again the other day. Was kinda bored with their rice selection and thought I’d try something else instead. And since I don’t feel like I wanna have their super sweet baklava or their puddings, I opt for fattoush instead.

Fattoush is a variety of Levantine bread salad served with cucumber, iced lettuce, tomatoes, various mixed greens and fried pita bread.

Kinda nice. I love the salad dressing. Made from a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice and coarse black pepper.

Quite a refreshing change from my usual fare of Mandy rice or Kabsah chicken rice.

Fattoush? never heard before. I din see any bread in that bowl, but that brownish pieces looks like bacon to me. This salad taste nice right?

Not that healthy, actually. LOL… there’s fried bread inside the salad, but the salad is sooooo good! A non-veggie lover like me could eat this all by myself…really, really good!
