Fun Time with Family at Matic Fest 2013

Having discovered from my blogger friend Rebecca that there is a fair in Matic over the weekend, I decided to check it out since I got nothing better to do at home. 🙂

Beautiful Saturday morning. At about 10am, the tents are already up and activities are already ongoing.

When I arrived with my husband and son, colouring competition has already commenced.

There’s singing competition too. Some contestants are good, but some are terribly off-key, earning boos and laughter from the audiences.

Wanna win some easy cash? Well then, go nuts guessing how many peanuts there is in here. Participation is only RM1. 🙂

Batik colouring competition. Both for adults and children alike.

Beautiful batiks artworks by contestants.

What’s a funfair withour clowns? Here’s a really tall one at Matic, entertaining kids and giving away balloon sculptures.

There’s also extreme sports activities during the Matic Festival 2013. Paintball competition is open for those who are up for some shooting. Here’s the painballers taking a rest in the tent.

Paintball mask. Nearly mistook it for Darth Vader’s mask.

Paintball guns used in the field.

And then there’s this.Tamiya 4×4 racing competition.

Tamiya 4×4 racing cars. Reminds me of the early 90s where the thing is an absolute craze.

Cat lovers club was there too.

This lil fella greeted us with a Meow.

Exotic cat breed for sale

image

Cats for adoption. Would love to adopt one, but my house can’t accommodate anymore. I already have 7 at home.

image

Cat food on sale. Was contemplating to grab some for my furkids.

image

Pet accessories are sold too, but rather pricey to me.

image

Toys and shampoos for pets.

image
And then there’s this. Information on how pet lovers can apply for pet’s passport for their beloved pets, in case they need to travel abroad with their pets.

The sun was high in the sky and all of us were hungry. So we checked out the foodstalls over there. Bought Laksa Sarawak for RM5 from one of the participating stalls, but it was terribly disappointing and bland.

But the satay was yummylicious. I didn’t had enough.

There’s a formula about calculating those things e.g. peanuts in a jar, soccer balls in a car.

Some math wizards (not me) can consistently get the prize. I know this girl who is a (no kidding) professional contest joiner. She has a day job of course but she joins all kinds of contests.

She always gets it right, down to the 50’s – she used to have a blog about her winnings but it’s lost now. She was once beaten by a guy who got it down to the 10’s though. It *can* be calculated. 🙂
