Have you ever…

Have you ever tried frying steamed bun/pau?

They’re very easy. It only takes a minute or so to fry those leftover dimsum pau that you couldn’t finish from your dimsum meals in the kopitiam.

You got to be really good in frying though, or you’ll burn the pau.

I think I did quite a good job. Did not burn the Pau. I guess I’m better at frying things rather than grilling them.

A good, quickie comfort food, no? Want not, but waste not. I hate to see food goes to waste, so more often than not, I recycle the food. 😀 Sometimes, the recycled version taste much better than the original ones.

They sell those at the pasar malam here. I remember walking around with my cousin from KK and he wanted to buy but I said, “Don’t buy! Those are the ones they could not sell yesterday!” The lady heard me and started cursing and swearing at me for the insult – saying that all her things would definitely be sold out, not enough for her customers even…bla…bla…bla! Blush! Blush!

LOL… that ought to teach you to be a bit more discreet next time. LOLOL… but truthfully, Cikgu, the lady might be right. Some people they make fried pau to sell, not the steamed ones. You’d see that in some places, the pau are actually freshly made to be fried!

Yeah, really nice after fry. Crunchy on the outside, den the inside like melting, nice…

Must control fire… fire must really be hot, and kenot fry too long. Else not nice.
