In Colonial Restaurant. Located at the ground floor, in The Intermark, Ampang. The place is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and is easily accessible via public transport.

True to it’s name, the restaurant’s interior is somewhat inspired by the British occupation times, where everything looks rather historic. One could easily mistake the restaurant for serving Western food, but don’t let the appearance fool you. This is actually a restaurant specialized in serving Chinese food.

Managed to sample some of the offerings here in In Colonial restaurant the other day on my wedding anniversary, and I have to say that my husband and I approved.

Here’s sharing what we had:

A platter of appetizer consists of: Swiss Spring Rolls, Shrimp Ravioli, Mango Prawn Rolls, Noodlefish with Salt and Chilli and last but not least, Beef and Chicken Skewers. I have nothing bad to say about these appetizers. They surpassed my expectations and made quite an interesting gastronomic feat.

Here’s some of the chef recommended dishes that we manage to try that day: In Colonial Black Pepper Rib Eye Cubes, Steamed Sea Garoupa in Lemon Juice, Admiral Butter Tiger Prawns, Padprik Veggies, Claypot Oysters and Seafood, and last but not least, Golden Brown Minced Garlic Scallops.

In Colonial Black Pepper Rib Eye Cubes. I gave this a miss, but my husband managed to try this dish. He is not really a fan of beef and would usually pick other dishes to try in favour of beef, but he gobbled these up and told me that it was well executed. The beef was fully flavoured and juicily tender.

Steamed Sea Garoupa in Lemon Juice was nothing short of sensational. Sweetly oceanic in flavour but at the same time, refreshing and addictive. The lemon juice makes you want to keep on having a go at the fish

Admiral Butter Tiger Prawns. The prawns were succulent and juicy and was adeptly fried. No complains here.

Padprik Vege. Rather mediocre in my opinion. It tasted good, but I wasn’t particularly impressed or anything.

Claypot Oysters and Seafood is a dish where there is assorted seafood inside of it. Not too shabby.Great for seafood lovers as there’s a bit of everything inside of one pot.

Golden Brown Minced Garlic Scallops was my favourite dish that night. The scallops was fully flavoured with minced garlic and was perfectly prepared. No prize guessing how many I gobbled up that night. đŸ˜‰

We ended our meal with this, herbal jelly with honey.

Overall, the meal satiated our appetite and for the coming Ramadan 2015, In Colonial Restaurant is offering sets similar to what we had for RM80 per pax. Quite a good deal for such satisfying meal.
