Luxury Meets Adventure Aboard the Rascal

Rascal is a traditional Phinisi yacht adapted for the discerning traveller. Constructed in Indonesia over three years, Rascal’s unique and spacious superstructure allows for five double en-suite guest cabins and a range of indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to relax in.

Rascal retains a sense of tradition while adding a contemporary twist to luxury cruising. Featuring the design characteristics of a traditional Phinisi vessel from a local build team whose skill set and craftsmanship have remained unchanged for generations, combined with the luxuries of a contemporary superyacht – the engines, navigation systems and AV solutions are of the highest standard.

Rascal is available for private charter experiences of the Indonesian archipelago. Each itinerary is tailor made according to group size and preference to provide a bespoke cruising experience. All aspects of the Rascal Charter experience deliver an expert touch of authentic Indonesian culture.

Guests are greeted with a stylish and personalised on-board experience; famous warm and welcoming Indonesian hospitality from the region’s best crew, chefs, sailing and diving experts in the comfort of tropical-chic décor – creating a laidback, luxurious cruising environment.

Rascal, both by name and nature –  the luxurious Phinisi yacht that everyone wants to get on board.

Fast making a name for herself amongst the most adventurous of luxury travellers, Rascal brings an entirely new hospitality experience to the boundless waters of Indonesia’s archipelago.

Available for private charter only, a Rascal journey allows its guests to take the reign – it has no enforced itineraries, limits, rules or regulations, allowing a group of up to 10 adults to challenge themselves, push the boundaries and get their adrenaline pumping.  Every Rascal voyage dares to defeat her last, and here are 5 reasons why:

1. Infinity Roof

The decision to remove the mast and sails from Rascal was made not only to enable all five expansive cabins to stretch across two high-ceilinged, above-water decks (the only Phinisi in the world to boast this), but to maximise the guest experience and unleash unrivalled entertaining potential. With the sea as Rascal’s very own private infinity pool, the 21-foot high roof deck serves as the ultimate diving board. Complete the levels from beginner to expert and take the plunge from the first deck, bow and second deck, before braving the highest plummet from the roof into the crystal clear waters. By night, a floating roof top cinema experience is provided from a movie-screen projector, activated for guests to enjoy films under the stars on the luxuriously comfortable beanbag chairs.

2. The Watersports

The elite, knowledgeable and adventurous dive master, Gaz Phillips, has arguably one of the world’s most sought-after jobs as ‘Rascal Cruise Director’.  Running an exclusive on-board guest dive centre, Gaz provides PADI training, certification and outstanding daily diving experiences in some of his favourite hidden spots.  For the non-divers, the Rascal sea kayaks are ideal for explorations of the crystal-clear waters and hours can be spent wakeboarding around the stunning coves and bays. A speedboat is also on hand to take for a spin with the uninterrupted ocean as the playground, and an inflatable towable jumbo follows for the even more daring Rascals to attempt to ride the waves without falling off – lifejackets are advised.

3. Dining

Rascal also boasts an unrivalled dining menu with food sourced from local organic farmers and artisanal purveyors. Balinese institution Watercress restaurant introduces its first ever floating menu on-board Rascal, bringing guests an unlimited selection of its renowned hearty and wholesome dishes, specially created to suit their dietary preferences. Delicious rustic breakfasts are served full of colour, flavour and goodness – from organic granolas to free-range poached eggs with chunky avocado salsa. Lunch is a showcase of local grilled seafood, barbequed meats, abundant salads and authentic homemade Indonesian favourites. No meal is complete without dessert – guests are treated to a jar of salted caramel and rich chocolate mousse or boat-made chocolate brownies with vanilla bean ice cream.

4. The Off-Piste Rule

All Rascal charters are private so each new day brings a new direction. The Rascal guest is invited to take control of the charts and plan an off-piste route, with Cruise Director Gaz Phillips expert input on the archipelagos most secluded and remote locations.

5. The Shipwrecked Experience

The crew are Rascals too – guests may be left stranded on a desert island with nothing but a black sky, a bonfire, a live band and barbecue, with Rascal just an unrecognizable spec on the horizon. Guests will live the shipwrecked experience (with cocktails and a private candlelit beach dinner), before the crew comes to the rescue!
