One of the must visit place if you’re ever in Shah Alam is the Selangor Islamic Arts Garden Complex.
The Selangor Islamic Arts Garden Complex was built in the 1990s to showcase Islamic arts. The complex is managed by Restu Foundation (Yayasan Restu), the first foundation in Malaysia to produce hand written and illuminated manuscripts of the Holy Quran.
The complex comprises three permanent museum galleries which are open to the public.
I managed to visit 3 galleries during my visit:
*Rehlah Nabawiyah or The Journey of Prophet Muhammad PBUH
*Indoor Atrium Garden
*Various exhibitions and calligraphy arts.
Rehlah Nabawiyah or The Journey of Prophet Muhammad SAW
This exhibition uses the latest techniques such as holograms, virtual technology and projection mapping to describe the events of the establishment of Islam.
One of the highlights for Muslim visitors must be the replica of the residence of Prophet Muhammad based on the writings of his companions.
Inside this humble dwelling you can appreciate the simple and frugal lifestyle experienced by the Prophet.
To say that this gallery is interesting is a understatement. It’s like walking through a time tunnel back into the era Prophet Muhammad SAW lives.
Indoor Atrium Garden
Visitors can see a soothing scene of an indoor garden at this section of the gallery.
Selangor Islamic Arts Garden Complex various exhibitions and calligraphy arts.
This gallery displays the Quran manuscripts and Islamic calligraphy exhibits.
Some of these texts have been beautifully inscribed and decorated by Malaysian calligraphers and artists .
You may also get your name written in calligraphy over here.
It was really interesting and unique.
Complex is a must visit if you like all things arts and culture.
