I gotta feeling, that tonight’s gonna be a good, good, good, good, good night! I gotta feeling, that tonight’s gonna be a good, good, good, good, good night!
Admit it. You didn’t read that. You sang that, didn’t you? Well, this song is a bit of a classic by now and I can hardly claim myself a Black Eyed Peas fangirl but you got to admit, their songs are kinda catchy and gives quite an energetic vibe. Frankly speaking, apart from being an Adrenaline junkie and an endorphin addict, I’m a huge fan of all things positive energy. They charged me up in an instant and makes me feel so good, regardless of how bad my day is.
Anyway, having heard that Resorts World Genting is hosting Starlight Carnival; an open air carnival that promises nothing but delicious food, good music and pure unadulterated fun, knew I had to check it out.
Starlight Carnival takes place at the picturesque Century Lake Park every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 October to 2 November 2019. It features four key elements – music, movies, food and games all under one roof.
Date night with the boy. Watching movie, playing games and dancing all night long under the stars at Resorts World Genting Starlight Carnival.
The open-air ‘Movie Under The Stars’ is definitely a new experience for us. Movie titles includes A Star is Born, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, Chicago, and Hairspray
I think watching movies in the open air under the stars while being embraced by the cold weather in Resorts World Genting is really refreshing in comparison to the techy cinema. Personally, I love the experience more than the cinema as it’s unrestrictive. Movie goers can sing along and dance to the movie’s soundtrack if they want and nobody will say anything about it as it’s all about fun and enjoying the moment under the open air. You also indulge n carnival food as you enjoy the movies. Perfect place to spend a movie night for families with kids, I must say.
Gourmet food trucks and eateries are scattered across the Carnival. While the food trucks serves up a variety of snacks, some new additions to Resorts World Genting will also be featured.
Harry Ramsden brings London’s beloved fish and chips to Malaysia, while the taste of Italy in the forms of pizzas, pastas and more arrives in hearty servings at the Il Lago kiosk. Cosmic Café on the other hand, will offer local favourites like nasi ayam and mee bakso.
Sjora truck is must visit if you’d like some refreshing mango-based drinks.
And oh, Ice Cream too.
And what’s a carnival without carnival games? The Carnival Game Zone features plenty of fun and challenging games like shooting hoops, spinning the wheel of fortune at, ball tossing, fishing for ducks and many more.

Spinning the wheel game
I’m not good at these games, but I had so much fun playing the games as I try to win some fancy prizes.
I heard that during its final weekend, the Starlight Carnival will be given a scary season makeover to commemorate the Halloween Weekend. I was told that we can expect the same fantastic combo of film, food, fiesta and fun as before, but with a new spooky theme as the Starlight Carnival embraces Halloween with jack-o’-lanterns, zombies, cobwebs and all the other elements of a truly scary Halloween evening, so I’m thinking of going again this Halloween.
