Is it too soon?

When is the right time to introduce God to your kids? I don’t know when is the right time, but to me, it’s as soon as possible. Perhaps, as early as from the womb.

I know some people have been accusing me for being extreme as I’m working on introducing God into my child’s life at a very young age, but I think it’s very important for parents to instill religious values in their children at a young age. I, for one, do not want my child to grow up not knowing Him and the values He wants us to live by.

I do not think it’s wrong to tell stories from the Holy Book to my child and using it as examples in life. And I do not think it is wrong to teach the child to be God fearing and be sincere in whatever he do. Is it wrong? I don’t think it’s wrong.

Call me whatever you want. I will raise my child how I saw fit, and it is none of anyone’s business.

Cleffairy: It’s okay if my boy is not your average smart boy. But it is not okay if he does not know God.

Action speaks louder than words. Live Christian lives – show in all that you do – love God and love thy neighbour – what you do to the least of your brothers, you do unto Him…and love thy enemy as you love thyself…and the children will follow and that’s a lot more important than knowing the Bible by heart!

Of course it’s not too early to tell a child stories from the Holy Book. No child is too young to listen to them, and you’re absolutely right about instilling religious values in their children at a young age.

My earliest memories of these stories are from a Ladybird book. I couldn’t have been much older than 3 when my dad first read them to me. And I remember my dad teaching me this song when I was about 3: “Two little eyes to look to God, Two little ears to hear His word…” 🙂

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

Yeah, if to inculcate or nurture the little one with something, it’s best to start at the very beginning and perseverance till the very end.

It is never too early. I sang songs about Jesus to my babies and talked to them every day about God. When they were older I read stories to them while I fed them their bottle. Both of my children became Christians as children. Teach them now before the world gets hold of them.

Hello, long time no see! I was told stories from the Bible since young. I always loved how those stories. However, the time that I truly knew God was when I was in university. So it doesn’t matter what you decide for your children, as long as prayer goes along with your decision. It makes a whole lot of difference.
