So, my parents were in town and I happened to have this invitation from Armada Hotel, PJ for their Christmas buffet. I don’t usually ditch my kid with my parents to babysit, but this time around I made an exception. Things is rather wacky on my side and I thought leaving my boy with my parents while my husband and I go for a pre-Xmas dinner date will do quite good for our sanity.
And so after dropping kiddo with the doting grandparents, we went off to Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel. Once arrived, this Nutcracker beckons us to sample Christmas delights cooked up by the chefs.
We’re in for quite a treat. Here’s the Christmas buffet spread by Utara Coffee House. Decent selection of Chrismassy food is offered to the diners.
Star of the night. Traditional Christmas Turkey with Walnut stuffing accompanied with Giblet Gravy and Cranberry Sauce, Mousseline potatoes, Glazed Honey Carrots, Brussels Sprouts and Louisiana Pumpkin Pie.
I don’t usually like turkeys. They are usually tough and chewy and I don’t have much patience to chew on em, but I have to give credit where it’s due. This one is perfectly done. The texture was great and the meat was tender and flavourful. The stuffing was fabulous. The skin was crispy and well-glazed. The turkey was perfectly paired with a side of mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. To be honest, I won’t mind a second or third of this.
Boston Oyster Leek soup. Thick and creamy. Lacks nothing and definitely something to die for during cold weather. It warmed my cold tummy in an instant.
Appetizers was Glass Noodles with Prawns, Sushi and Sashimi and Wasabi Trimmings. No complaints whatsoever on this.
And then there was this…Christmas tomato rice filled with oceanic goodness. π
For those who can’t live without Japanese food would be pleased to see these on the menu π
Sashimi and trimmings
Abit of a Chinese influence here in their offering.Steamed fish in soya sauce, mini yam basket and Chrismas fried rice served in tomato basket. Not a fan of steamed fish. But I suppose it was all right. No muddy taste. The yam basket and the fried rice was all right too.
Fresh oyster with lemon wedges from the buffet. Not a fan. But my husband is crazy about oysters, so he slurped a few of these aphrodisiacs.
Savoury Louisiana Pumpkin Pie. Love it! Packed with delightful filling.
I almost couldn’t fill in my tummy anymore, but desserts was irresistible.
They have this beautiful Christmas pudding, and it is a must have for all those with sweet tooth.
More yummy desserts. Let it be known that the folks in Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel won’t let you leave til you’re sweetly stuffed up. π
Desserts that we get to try. The slice of Christmas Strawberry shortcake and Spiced Nuts and Cherry was okay, but the Macaroon was exceptionally lovely. The Black Forrest Mousse on the other hand was sensational.
The meal should have ended with desserts, but my man couldn’t resist ice cream, so we shared this before we ended our dinner date.
There’s plenty of Christmas goodies in Utara Coffee House. This Gingerbread house is more than enough to tempt Hansel and Gretel wannabes to munch on em. π Thank God my little boy was not there, or I can’t guarantee we’ll leave the place with this still standing.
And should you feel like playing a bit of Little Red Riding Hood this Christmas but not really into baking, just customize a goodie basket filled with Christmas cookies and you’re good to go. π
Overall, the Christmas dining experience in Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel surpassed my expectations. It was really a gastronomic pleasure and price wise? It’s not exactly too harsh on the pocket too.

We haven’t had our turkey this year, I think I won’t be able to cook since we might be heading to Singapore. I’m thinking about ordering a turkey though for a pre-Christmas meal! Or we can just go here.
