My favourite online shopping portal for Korean skincare and makeup finally released their own line of makeups and I got myself a boxful of them to try.
Here’s sharing with you what’s in the box:
Althea Makeup Box contains; Althea Skin Relief Spot Gel Film, Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer, Sunrise&Moonrise BCL×A Eye Pallete and Althea Watercolour Cream Tint.
Althea Skin Relief Spot Film Gel. This is generally used to create a thin layer of transparent cover for bulging pimples prior to any foundation applications before makeup. It also gives a soothing, minty effect. Apart from using this myself before painting my face. I also let my acne infested son use it and they works wonder on him. Will be talking about them in another post, soon, so KIV for it.
Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer. They come in 4 colour codes; Vanilla, Ginger, Honey and Mocha.
Here’s the swatch for each shades on my hand.
Sunrise&Moonrise BCL×A Eye Pallete. A collaboration between Indonesian actress Bunga Cinta Lestari and Althea.
The Sunrise&Moonrise BCL×A Eye Pallete contains 8 shades, with a mix of matte, shimmery and glittery shades.
Althea Watercolor Cream Tint. They come in 4 bold and lovely shades; #1 Plum Cream, #2 Strawberry Cream, #3 Peach Cream and #4 Marron Cream.
Check out the swatch on my hand.
And here’s how it looks like on my lips with minimal makeup.
Although I’m really a vain person and loves to dress up simply to impress myself whenever I look at myself in the mirror wherever I go, I hate to spend a lot of time to paint my face. I prefer to keep things simple as I believe that less is more where makeup is concerned. Here’s sharing with you my 2 minutes Althea makeup box tutorial:
Step 1: Prep the skin with Petal Velvet Sunaway. Apart from providing UV protection throughout the day, it also helps the skin to stay moisturized, even after applying makeups.
Step 2: Use the Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer to cover up your flaws and imperfections. I usually will dab on some Althea Petal Velvet Powder in Lavender pink after applying the concealer as base, but I ran out of them and I yet to make a purchase and stock up on them, so this round I forgo the Althea Velvet Powder and just make do with the Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer. The outcome lacked the radiant effect without the Althea Petal Velvet Powder but the concealer works well to cover the flaws on my face.
Step 3: Brighten up your eyes with BCLxA Sunrise&Moonrise Eye Pallete. I’m not much an eye-shadow person. Most of the eyeshadows that I tried before in the past did nothing but dissapoint and frustrates me with their lack of pigmentations, but the BCLxA Sunrise&Moonrise Eye Pallete is such a joy to use. It’s easy to blend and glides on easily on the eyelids. And the best part? Every single colours on the pallete are highly pigmented and great to wear for long hours. For sparkly eyes effect that will help you stand out in the pictures, use some Althea Spotlight Eye Glitter as well. You may also complete your eye makeup with eyeliner as well for a more dramatic effect. I’m not an eyeliner person though and therefore, I exclude them in this tutorial. For this makeup look, I used shade #1 as base and #6 to fill in the eyelids.
Step 4: Create flushed cheeks effect by using Althea Watercolor Cream Tint. Yes. This cream tint is awesome. It’s originally meant to be used as lip colour but it doubles as a blusher as well. I used Althea Watercolor Lip Tint in #01 Plum Cream as blusher. The shade might be kinda overwhelming for those who prefers subtle blushing effect, but I like my cheeks looking healthily flushed and bright, so feel free to use other colours, whichever makes you happy.
Step 5: Apply the Althea Watercolor Cream Tint on the lips, and voila! You’re done. Since I’ve already used darker shade for my cheeks, I used Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in #03 Peach Cream to give the overall makeup look a sweet and youthful effect. Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in #03 Peach Cream is my favourite among all other colours available. It’s a cheerful colour that’s definitely a mood booster.
Here’s the pictures of overall look after about 2 minutes under natural sun lighting. It’s not my usual makeup look but if anything, I was told that I look younger than my age. A friend on my Facebook even commented that he thought I look like a girl in Blackpink (A currently famous Korean Kpop Girl Band). I’m definitely a happy camper and will definitely go for youthful look like this more often.
