With a blink of the eye, 2015 is already coming to it’s end. November and December in Malaysia is usually associated with the dreadful monsoon and rainy days. Not quite a favourite among parents and young children as coincidentally, November and December also happens to be school holidays.
School holiday is a season where most parents would love to take some time off and spend some quality time with their children. While I wouldn’t exactly recommend you to go for holidays in the East Coast where the monsoon hits hard, I’d say a short getaway is still possible for those who want to go for a retreat or a day trip.
Understandably, budget can be quite an issue these days due to the depreciation of Ringgit Malaysia value and traveling to international destinations can be quite costly, so here’s recommending a domestic holiday destination that you might want to consider in November/December 2015; Genting Highlands.
Genting Highlands, although much more well known to the world as a gambler’s heaven is more than just a gambling den. It has much more to offer than just the casinos.
Here’s sharing with you an affordable school holiday travel ideas without having to splurge your Ringgits.
While on your way up, stop by and visit Chin Swee Caves Temple.
It’s picturesque and the best part? It costs nothing. Being a place of worship, no entrance fees whatsoever is imposed. Donations for temple maintenence however, is welcomed.
Located at 4,600 feet above sea level, the temple is about 5–10 minutes’ drive from the peak of the mountain, there is plenty to see in the vicinity of the temple, even if you are not a worshipper. Apart of a giant Buddha and Goddess of Mercy’s statues, you’ll discover that the temple also offers journey to enlightment through the depiction of heaven and hell via realistic scene brought to life through statues.
To drive up, refer to Waze or Google Map. Below is the address for your reference.

Have not been to Genting for years and years. Perhaps it is a great idea to go before they complete the theme park up there, probably would be a lot more expensive then, so very cheap – the rooms right now.
