Looking for a good budget smartphone below RM500? Here’s a reasonably good one; Xiaomi Redmi 4A.
Recently launched in Malaysia, at an event with InvolveAsia and Lazada Malaysia, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is available for just RM459 at Lazada Malaysia.
Pricewise, this is the the cheapest smartphone device that Xiaomi has launched to date.
So how does it fare? Well, I managed to get my hands on one. For a phone that costs below RM500, the Xiaomi Redmi is certainly promising in terms of performance.
A closer look at the Xiaomi Redmi 4A. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is powered by a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU processor with 2 GB RAM. The device also has 16 GB internal storage + microSD (up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot)) and a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen (720 x 1280 pixels, 294 ppi) display. It has a 13MP rear camera and supports Wifi, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. It packs in a Non-removable Li-Ion 3120 mAh battery at 8.5mm device thickness and weight 131.5g, running on Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Catered especially for busy individuals, Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with dual-SIM support as well as preloaded with dual account management platform. Yes. That means you can run two Whatapps, two Facebook or Messenger at the same time. Simply put, effective communication is made easy with Xiaomi Redmi 4A.
With 15MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A produces quite a decent quality picture. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is also very slim and light.
