As of late, I caught the Hallyu fever and have been marathoning loads of K-dramas. Apart from swooning over eyecandy Oppas in those dramas, I can’t help but drool over the Korean food that they tend to feature too. I find Korean delicacies rather tempting and unique. Among the Korean food that I’ve seen being featured in K-dramas and Korean vlogs is Isaac Toast&Coffee and I’ve been longing to have a bite of those delicious looking freshly made street- toast.
Isaac Toast&Coffee finally opens in Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur and I decided to check it out.
Isaac Toast& Coffee, or simply known as Isaac Toast among Korean foodie is toast chain based in South Korea. It’s South Korea’s most popular sandwich joints. As of 2016, the chain has over 700 retail stores in South Korea. It has further expanded internationally and established branches including Macau, Taiwan and or course, Malaysia.
Here’s what they are offering on their Malaysian menu.
Isaac Toast&Coffee menu is pretty straight forward and I don’t think you will have trouble ordering.
Combo menu offers a better deal to diners. You might want to consider having one of these during your visit to Isaac Toast.
Drinks offered varies from coffee to tea and a selection of smoothies
Toasts are made to order at the kioks to ensure the warmth and freshness of the toasts. Each toast is paired with a square shaped soft signature omelette (similar to Japanese tamagoyaki), cheese slice and some shredded cabbage. These will be topped up with your choice of meat patty such as chicken ham or bacon, turkey ham, tuna or shrimp.
People generally orders coffee to go with their toasts, but I’m not much a coffee drinker. My blog, ‘Over A Cuppa Tea’ says it all and so I got myself Green Tea and Ice Peach Tea instead. They’re really refreshing, I must say.
Having a huge fanbase nationwide, Isaac Toast’s queue tend to be long. But no worries. They have a few stations to make your toasts, and service is really swift here in Isaac Toast Avenue K and it doesn’t take long for them to prepare your toasts. At best, just 3-5 minutes max.
I went with basic instead of their combo; the Turkey Ham Cheese Special Toast (RM10.00)
Turkey Ham Cheese Special. The toasts were filled generously with shredded cabbage and high quality cheddar cheese slice was used.
The Turkey Ham Cheese Special melted in my mouth like a dream. The bread tasted buttery and have a slight sweetness to it that I can’t seems to appropriately describe. Quite a fanciful taste and I certainly like it in comparison to the usual sandwiches that’s usually savoury and salty rather than sweet. So, do I like it? Does it live to my expectations? Well, I must say they definitely do and I’m looking forward to try other flavours on their menu.
I’m a huge fan of sandwiches. Comforting and convenient, sandwiches and toasties are my choice whenever I’m too busy for a meal or on the go. And I guess Isaac Toast&Coffee will be my regular grab and go sandwich joint for a long time.
