I’m not a scoutgirl but when I was invited to check out the JOTA JOTI 2019, the world’s largest digital Scout event promoting friendship and global citizenship, I know I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world.

JOTA JOTI, is a short for “Jamboree in the air ” and “Jamboree on the Internet”. It is the world’s largest digital Scout event taking place online and over the air.

The educational event brings together more than 2 million scouts every year in October for a weekend of Scouting and friendship. JOTA-JOTI engages youth in educational activities that build teamwork and cross-cultural understanding.

JOTA JOTI 2019 took place in 18-20 October 2019.

During the event, the young ones gets to learn about amateur communications technology (HAM radio) and connect with fellow Scouts from all over the world.

Having recently passed my ORAE and being a HAM radio user myself, it’s really nice to see the young ones taking interest in amateur radio and communicating with each other actively. If this is not borderless friendship, then I don’t know what it is.

I had so much fun during the event and I certain look forward to check out JOTA JOTI 2020 next year.
