Absolute Movie Enjoyment with IMAX and Gold Class with D-BOX at Bona Cinemas, Resorts World Genting

Those who are close to me knows that I’m quite a movie and a drama addict. I spent most of my leisure time glued in front of the PC streaming latest online dramas or in the cinemas catching up on new movies.

They are simply irresitible. How can they not be? The stories are not only riveting but the heroes are eye-candies as well. Some friends lectured me for my drama addictions and tendency to binge watching and movie marathon-ing but then again, what do they know? Watching dramas has always been my secret way to escape my stressful and depressing world a little. Sure, I may become emotionally invested in some dramas and get upset when they ended tragically at times, but they provided me joyful escapism nevertheless. Those dramas and movies that I watched transported me to another world for a little while, and distorted as it may sound to you, such escapism makes me feel really happy. You know, life can be so hard sometimes. And there are times I feel so miserable to the point that even smiling is really difficult, what more coercing a laughter out of me.

Dramas and movies has long became my way of escaping reality for a little while. They saved me from constantly feeling jaded and stopped me from sinking further into depression.

image

Anyway, speaking of watching movies and dramas to escape reality, I recently took my escapism to an entirely different level at Bona Cinemas in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. You see, Bona Cinemas at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting has recently announced that they’ve added IMAX and Gold Class with D-BOX halls to its gilded cineplex and I decided to go for a little movie marathon to enjoy the latest movie in these awesome settings with the best of technology.

image

The movies of choice; the newly released Aquaman and Mortal Engine. I decided to experience Aquaman in IMAX while the Mortal Engines in Gold Class with DBox.

image

I have to apologize if you’re expecting some spoilers or tidbits from the two movies as I won’t be reviewing about them here in this post. I’ll be telling you what I think of these two movies in other posts. What I want to share with you is the actual movie-watching experience at Bona Cinemas SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

image

Watching movies in IMAX equipped hall is really engaging. IMAX technology, derived from the words Image Maximum, is widely considered the gold standard in motion picture immersion, able to capture images of greater size and resolution to bring even the smallest of details and sounds to life with a visceral punch. If you’re to ask me how it’s like to watch movies in IMAX, I will have to say IMAX draws you into something as close to reality as you have ever experienced. I was informed that at IMAX equipped halls, two projectors run simultaneously to provide the perfect image with a balance of warmth and sharpness. My movie watching experience in IMAX includes immensely real explosion. Even whispers from the movies seems to come over my shoulder. The rumbling bass can be felt instead of heard. Every note of the soundtrack and every drop of pin seems to be clearer in IMAX. It really feels as if the cinema has been fully customized for an optimal experience.

image

Equally impressive is the cinema’s Gold Class with D-BOX hall that seats up to 48 viewers.

image

A first in the Malaysian market, Bona Cinemas has combined the luxurious pleasure of Gold Class VIP seats with the dynamic D-BOX technology.

image

Each seat at the Gold Class hall with D-BOX is equipped with the D-BOX patented motion system with four levels of intensity control, which swivels and tilts on a two-axis configuration to truly bring the viewer into the thick of the action. Combined with the latest Dolby Atmos audio system that wraps the audience with three-dimensional sound, the entire movie watching experience made me feel as if I am part of the scene – along for the ride in thrilling chase sequences and feeling the weight of every single impact, whether physical or emotional.

My movie marathon had never been more satisfying than watching the movies in IMAX and Gold Class in D-Box at Bona Cinemas. If I were to describe my overall experience, I must say that I went to another universe through those two halls. In my humble opinion, there is no better gateway into cinematic perfection in Malaysia than at Bona Cinemas in Resorts World Genting.

Bona Cinemas is located on Level 1 of SkyAvenue mall in Resorts World Genting. The cinema has a total of six halls, covering 38,848 square feet. All halls are equipped with the latest Dolby Atmos sound system for maximum cinematic immersion, and a wide variety of snacks are available at the concession stand.

Jungle Jam SkySymphony Dazzles Visitors at Resorts World Genting

If there’s one thing I wouldn’t miss whenever I make a short trip up to Resorts World Genting is watching the SkySymphony winch ball show in SkyAvenue. As of writing, SkySymphony has showcased plenty of mesmerizing shows and yet to disappoint. Here’s sharing with you the lastest one; the Jungle Jam. It was premiered last week and I’m glad that I managed to see it being shown for the first time during the premier.

image

Dato’ Edward Holloway, Executive Vice President of Leisure and Hospitality of Resorts World Genting said, “SkySymphony has been very successful and popular with our visitors who come up to see Asia’s largest permanent kinetic light, audio and visual installation. We’re very excited and proud to introduce another original content to our visitors, yet again, during the year end school holidays due to the positive response of our previous shows. This magnificent production will be a visual treat to our visitors which totalled an estimated 25 million in 2018.

“We are thrilled to announce the premiere of our Highlands Heroes. We’ve kept the show colourful and fun and the relationship between all the different characters sends a positive message about friendship. Hopefully, it will also garner an interest of the environment amongst them through the portrayal of the animals and the jungle,” added Dato’ Edward.

“One of Genting Studios’ very first tasks was to take the original Genting character mascots, and reimagine them for an all-family audience”, said Regis Brown, Deputy Managing Director of Genting Studios. “Jungle Jam introduces our characters in beautiful CG-animation as they dance to a catchy original song in a lush jungle setting. Jungle Jam is our second CG animated-production and we have new shows already in pre-production for 2019, as well as longer-form content plans for our lovable mascots. Genting Studios was entrusted to preserve and enhance the legacy of Genting’s original animal characters, and we are very excited to relaunch these characters to today’s audiences.”

image

Jungle Jam was produced over four months by the Genting Studios team located in Los Angeles and Kuala Lumpur. The show is directed by Guy Vasilovich (All I Want for Christmas is You, Lego Star Wars) and executive produced by Daniel Regis Brown (Dex Hamilton, Pumpkin Reports) and Steven Lim Tze Siang (Saladin: The Animated Series, Bola Kampung: The Movie). “Jungle Jam” is an original composition by Emmy Award-winning composer Gigi Meroni, with additional post-production audio and effects work by Central Post Los Angeles.

Basically, the Jungle Jam show introduces Genting’s redesigned animal characters, brought to life in Computer Generated Animation for the first time, performing a dance routine to an original composition, created by Genting Malaysia’s CG animation entertainment company, Genting Studios, incorporated to deliver premium and world class content in CG animation productions.

image

The five (5) minute show features a dance performance by the reinvented Genting characters featuring a charming group of animal friends and the unofficial guardians of Resorts World Genting: Tabby the Tiger, Allie the Elephant, Joe the Orangutan, Geno the Dinosaur and two new characters Benny the Entertainer (a Malaysian Sun Bear), and Callie the Dragon.

The characters were introduced more than 25 years ago and have been given a fresh spin with characters such as Benny the Entertainer which was previously a clown however has been transformed to this lovable character that children will love. Callie the Dragon on the other hand, was originally the character mascot Callie the caterpillar, but was introduced as a dragon that was inspired by the Chin Swee Caves Temple from the 9 Dragon wall. The fun and modernised characters will be brought to life for the very first time through the LED screens. The Highland Heroes will also appear in 2019 at the entrance of Skytropolis Funland, Genting’s new indoor theme park which soft-opened on 8th December 2018.

Jungle Jam will be staged at SkySymphony, where four-story high LED screens surrounding the concourse will come alive with the new musical show, complemented by the state-of-the-art 1,001 winch balls that synchronize and move to form different shapes, from colourful vines to jungle creatures to create a truly immersive audio-visual experience.

Jungle Jam will be shown every two hours from 10.00am to midnight. Other shows namely the Ocean Groove with Maestro Ning, Urban Symphony Forest and The Goddess will also be taking their turns to play at SkySymphony throughout the day on a 30-minute rotation.

Remember to take a little breather from all of your excitements in Resorts World Genting and stop by to watch the SkySymphony show when you’re there. I promise you, you will really like it. Other winch ball shows at SkySymphony includes Ocean Groove with Maestro Ning, Urban Symphony Forest and The Goddess. These SkySymphony shows are complimentary, so no worries about not being able to get admission tickets.
What’s better than watching a beautifully orchestrated musical show at 6,000 ft above sea level? Personally speaking, I think that’s simply one of the best thing you can experience in Resorts World Genting.

Tati Skincare Regains Consumers’ Trust After Winning Court Battle Against Malaysian Blogger

If you are a beauty blogger and have been very much involved in the beauty industry scene in Malaysia, you might have heard about the quite talked about lawsuit case where a local beauty/skincare brand; Tati Skincare filed a lawsuit against a Malaysian blogger for defamation and slander after suffering the lost of consumers trust as a result of a series of defamatory articles posted by a well known Malaysian blogger.

image

I have been following the case with interest since last year and I’m glad to report that I was informed last week of the update on the case where Tati Skincare finally won the case and called for a press conference following the triumph of Tati Skincare vs.Blogger case to clear the air and to reassure the consumers that their products are safe to use. Tati Skincare has been in the market for almost 4 years since its launch in 2015. Click HERE to see the video of the press conference.

image

To date, Tati Skincare products are also marketed abroad such in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. Tati Skincare has produced a couple of product lines including cosmetics, whitening cream, lipstick, mascara and compact powder.

image

According to Tati Skincare company lawyer, En. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi, his client suffered a huge loss and decided to file a lawsuit after discovering that the blogger had been continuously producing defamatory articles on Tati Skincare products.

“The Tati Skincare has referred this to us from January 2017 after discovering a negative blog entry entry on lekatlekit.com on Tati Skincare products. This negative writing continues from January 2017 to April 2017 on the blogger’s blog and Facebook’s statuses. There are a lot of things that are not true and include defamatory elements in all the writings and comments that Tati Skincare decided to file defamation suit against the blogger in May 2017,” Mr. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi explains.

After a full trial, the High Court of Kota Bharu had made a decision on Nov 22, 2018, alleging there was indeed a defamatory writings made against the founders of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norhayati Hasyima Muhammad and Norasyikin Muhammad. The findings from these results are:

*The statement says that Tati Skincare products are ‘produk timbang kilo’.

*Founder of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norhayati Hasyima Muhammad (plaintiff) went to perform Umrah pilrimage in Mecca by using the money earned from the sales of Tati Skincare products that damaged the users’ skin

*All Tati Skincare products are toxic

*The plaintiff’s pictures were also spread on social media and is linked to writing that contains defamation articles.

Mr. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi in his statement also stressed that not all Tati Skincare products were included in the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) list as a product that contains harmful substances and netizens and users should not stereotyped and blindly deliver judgement.

According to one of the co-founders of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norasyikin Muhamad, the purpose of the press conference was also to explain the slander related to Tati Skincare’s products in social media that affected the brand as well as eroding the consumer’s trust and she hoped hoped that consumers would be more confident in using Tati Skincare products hereafter.

At the press conference, Pn. Norasyikin Muhammad and other founders also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the decision made by the Kota Bharu High Court. She also hoped that this decision will help the consumers to regain trust in their brand and Tati Skincare’s management provides a channel for users to channel any questions or inquiries on their website and on the social media platforms eg: Facebook and Instagram.

Anyway, for what it’s worth, this case has been an interesting eye-opener and I’m really glad that the case has finally been put to rest and we are now enlightened of the real situation.

As a writer, blogger and a beauty product reviewer, I have always been careful when it comes to reviewing and writing beauty products. In my humble opinion, we bloggers plays an important role in helping the consumers decide on what they’ll be using, and therefore, the reviews must be really honest and not contain any forms of personal attacks. I usually will write on whether I like the product or not and let my readers decide on their own whether the products in question is suitable for them or not instead of forcing them to think certain products is good or bad. Let’s face the reality. Every individual have different needs and what’s suitable for one person might not be suitable for others and it’s really unfair to generalize and assume things that might not be true.

Resorts World Genting Throws a Harry Potter-Themed Christmas Party for Over 300 Underprivileged Children

It was a day of magic and merriment as Resorts World Genting recently hosted over 300 underprivileged children from 10 homes to a Harry Potter-themed Christmas Party. In keeping with the season of caring and sharing, the children were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch, a magic show, a song-and-dance performance and a showing of Dora the Explorer LIVE! Search For The City of Lost Toys.

image

The day began with the children making their journey up to the cool climate of Resorts World Genting, welcomed and greeted by Santa Claus himself.

image

The happy and expectant group were then led to Coffee Terrace at Genting Grand, which had been transformed into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the occasion. As the children claimed candies from Puan Seri Cecilia Lim and were entertained by Santa & a magician dressed up in characters from the Harry Potter book series, VIPs from Resorts World Genting arrived to mingle and play with the children, including guest of honour Puan Sri Cecilia Lim, wife of Genting Group chairman and group chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay.

image

A blast of gold confetti by the guest of honour, Puan Seri Cecilia signalled the start of the party, she then invited her friends up to the stage for Christmas carolling – singing “we wish you a merry Christmas” and “joy to the world”. As they finished, the emcee announced that lunch is served, allowing the children to tuck into a traditional Christmas lunch with the tune of timeless Christmas carols. Children were rushing to all seven stations that in Coffee Terrace, Puan Seri Cecilia and friends helped served each child at the western station. The children were in awe of the chocolate fountain, popcorn stand, ice-cream stand, dessert galore and varieties of dishes. Hailing from ten homes – Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Budriah, Sivananda Boy’s Home, Sivananda Home Kuala Kubu Bahru, Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home, Shepherd’s Centre Foundation, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL, Love Eternal Charity Association, Angels Children Home, Rumah Keluarga Kami, Agathians Shelter – the halls were filled with the sound of children’s laughter and chatter over lunch.

They were entertained by GAPS Studio students – who have prepared 6 different dance & singing performances to entertain the crowd. It continued with two dances performance from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL and Angels Children Home. Next up was the magician that took to the stage for a Harry Potter-themed magic show, it was an interactive show where children participated in all the acts.

After the thrills of the show and the comfort of the meal, Malaysian singing sensation Queenzy for a song-and-dance session. Set to the tunes of disco songs, Queenzy invited Puan Seri Cecilia, friends and the children to get on their feet and join the dance party, twirling and moving in celebration of the season. After a chance to catch their breath, the children then saw Santarina emerge with a sack of presents – personally selected by each child from a wishlist provided by Resorts World Genting. Ranging from Barbie Dolls, board games and bicycles to sports shoes, school uniforms and story books, each present brought broad smiles to the face of each child. A goodie bag with a Resorts World Genting shirt and Faber-Castell stationary was also given to the children, because Christmas is an experience that is not complete without gifts.

“What we have done here today is all for the children, because they represent the unlimited potential and infinite possibilities for our future. They are the next generation,” said Puan Sri Cecilia Lim. “This is the season of giving, and we at Resorts World Genting want to ensure that these children do not miss out on the magic of the season and are given the tools and boost they need to succeed. Harry Potter himself had a difficult childhood, and he still grew up to be one of the greatest wizards of his generation. That’s possible for these children as well, and we would like to provide all the help we can give to help them on their journey.”

After a group photography session, the children then trouped off to the Genting International Showroom to watch a showing of the musical extravaganza Dora the Explorer LIVE! Search For The City Of Lost Toys. Featuring the hero of many children, the stage production chronicled the adventure of Dora and her friends as they explore a mysterious city to retrieve her lost teddy bear Osito. Resorts World Genting representatives then bade goodbye to the children, who will surely remember the day as one of their greatest Christmas experiences ever.

Makeover Apps to Revolutionize Beauty Industry in Malaysia

Beauty industry in Malaysia is growing like mushrooms after the rain and is increasingly becoming an important sector that is contributing to the country’s revenue. But when supplies is more than demand, that’s where competition started to become aggressively difficult and growth, stagnant. Realizing this, a group of prominent beauty industry leaders in Malaysia decided to join hands together and create a mobile apps known as MAKEOVER in effort to further empower the industry players.

image

MAKEOVER was recently launched in Wisma Selangor Dredging, Kuala Lumpur and was officiated by MAKEOVER co-founding team comprising of Datin Winnie Loo (founder of A Cut Above), Yvone Yap (founder of Sense & Style Beauty Academy), Derick Ooi (Co-Founder & Managing Director of Hairstory International), Jamie Sie (founder of JGA Grooming Academy), Kiro Tan (founder of KOLS) and witnessed by Tan Sri Richard Chiam and Puan Sri Louise. The apps in question is supported by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Go-eCommerce.

image

According to the team of co-founders, the MAKEOVER apps is an innovation that aims to gather beauty industry players in Malaysia under one roof and provide the very best of beauty-related service providers to the consumers. When asked what’s their vision for the said apps, they hope that the apps will not only benefit industry players and encourage further growth and healthy competition in the beauty industry, but help the consumers to make a better choice when it comes to their beauty, wellness and grooming needs as well.

image

The apps will be tentatively available for download by both consumers and industry players on Playstore and Appstore by the end of December 2018.

image

MAKEOVER apps will be offering a listing of beauty and grooming service providers under one roof for consumers to pick from. Among the service providers that MAKEOVER apps users can look forward to are; optometrists, dental care services, manicurists, masseurs, pet groomer, beautician services and of course, makeup artists and stylists.

image

One of the greatest feature MAKEOVER app users can look forward to is the 24 hours booking service straight to your doorsteps, regardless of your location. This is basically a Grab apps for the beauty industry where instead of delivering a driver to you, it will deliver various kinds of beauty and grooming service provider to your doorsteps instead.

The MAKEOVER apps will definitely be a game changer and shape the future of the beauty industry in Malaysia.

In depth review on the apps will be featured soon. In the meantime, do check the links below for more news and quick updates on MAKEOVER apps updates:

Flavours of Malaysia at Anson Kopi&Patisserie

Familarity breeds contempts. This saying is true in many situations with an exception to food. Unlike the relationship with people, no matter how familar you are with certain kind of food, you’ll never actually grow to hate it over time, even when you had it over and over again. Not sure if this saying is applicable to all of you out there but at least this is true to me. Love waxes and wane. People come and go from our life and we tend to grow jaded with things that are a routine but I can never hate food, no matter how familiar I am with certain food’s taste and texture. There’s always room for new discoveries.

image

Speaking of new discoveries, I was recently introduced to this quaint and highly instagrammable cafe somewhere in Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur, serving all sorts of all time Malaysian favourites dishes since the olden times in Malaysia. With all the hipster cafes serving all sort of modern-fusion food propping up like mushrooms after the rain, I’m pleased that there’s a cafe like this, preserving the classics for us to indulge in.

image

Here’s sharing with you the dishes that I’ve tried during my recent visit to Anson Kopi&Patisserie.

image

Braised Dark Soy Chicken Rice is a rice dish that’s commonly found in a Chinese household since the olden times and usually served during growing up years of a young child in a Chinese family in Malaysia. This rice dish features whole chicken leg that was perfectly braised in sweet dark soy sauce and served with a side of braised white tofu and braised boiled egg alongside with blanched Bak Choy vegetable. Simple and wholesome, recommended for those who likes homey dishes and would like to revisit the taste of childhood.

image

Nasi Lemak Sotong. Nasi Lemak is a classic evergreen Malaysian rice dish that stands against the test of time. We can find Nasi Lemak almost around the clock in Malaysia and it’s eaten throughout the day that it’s almost a staple for Malaysians. The Nasi Lemak Sotong served in Anson Kopi and Patiserie stays true to the good old Nasi Lemak with addition of spicy sambal sotong on the side. Generously portioned per serving, this fragrant coconut rice dish is absolutely worth the calories gained.

image

Anson Signature Fried Rice. I daresay that nobody who lives in Malaysia can honestly say that they have never tasted a plate of fried rice. Apart from Nasi Lemak, fried rice is another dish that most Malaysians grew up with. In the yesteryears, fried rice dish were prepared using cold leftover rice from the day before and is savoured during breakfast in the morning. These days it’s served around the clock and is a favourite for many. Anson Signature Fried Rice is pretty much elaborated and is served with a piece of piping hot fried chicken and absolutely flavourful and delicious. The fried rice was tinged with a bit of spiciness that’s quite an excitement to the palate. Highly recommended if you like variety of side dishes on your plate.

image

Tomyam Baked Chicken. I’m a huge fan of roasted/baked chicken. I consider roasted/baked chicken meals are much healthier than the fried ones. I’ve eaten plenty of baked chicken, but this got to be my first time sampling a tomyam flavoured baked chicken. Similar to the the traditional Thai Tomyam soup, the Baked Tomyam Chicken is excitingly sourish and spicy. Comes with a side of potato wedges and salad, the dish is highly appetizing. Great for those who are adventurous when it comes to food.

image

Sarawak Baked Chicken is another highly appetizing chicken dish that’s a must try. Served with a side of potato wedges and fresh salad the chicken were preppes with plenty of spices and was literally bursting with flavour. Fans of savoury dishes will adore this one, I reckon.

image

Kedah Mee Soto. This dish comes with a choice of yellow noodles, rice vercimille and koay teow. It’s basically a clear herbal chicken soup served with noodles. Growing up in the Northerns states of Malaysia, I have tasted a variety of soto that comes from either Kedah, Perlis or Penang and I have high expectations on this Kedah Mee Soto by Anson Kopi&Patisserie. The soup is really flavourful and the accompanying sambal kicap was to die for. However, Kedah and Perlis Mee Soto that I’m familar with is usually served with fried potato balls (bergedil) as well and I wish they included some chicken or beef bergedil with this dish too. Although the dish lacks the accompanying bergedil, this bowl of Mee Soto still makes quite a satisfying warm meal.

Kelantan Beef Noodle. In all honesty, I’m not a huge fan of beef noodles due to the usual pungeant smell that the beef emits after long hours of cooking. I find that quite a turned off, but the beef noodles here does not have such funny smell. It’s actually love at first slurp and the best part of it all, the meat were really tender, making the entire experience really enjoyable.

image

Tomyam Mee Raja is really delicious. Comes generously with some seafood bits and I really like this one alot. It’s not for the faint hearted though as it leans pretty much on the spicy side.

image

Hot Pot Yee Mee. A must order if you’re craving for something quick and comforting to eat.

image

Curry Laksa is a must try if you love all things curries. I assume this is the Johor version of Curry Laksa as the curry was thick, creamy and really rich in taste and texture. Love it so much that I was tempted to order some toasted bread to mop up the leftover curries in the bowl by the time I finished up the noodles. It’s pretty much addictive and you’d be a fool not to try this if you love spicy food.

image

Cendol and Ice Kacang is a must order after all the spicy and savoury goodness. It’s not only cooling and refreshing but helps to cleanse the palate with sweetness as well.

image

Anson Kopi&Patisserie offers all sorts of fresh fruit juices and Malaysian favourite beverages, but what comes highly recommended are these; Hazelnut Soya, Coconut Coffee, Coconut Soya, Soya Coffee, Hazelnut Coffee and Wild Oat Milk.

image

If you’re to ask me what’s my favourite among all the dishes that I’ve features above, these would be my favourite; the homey Braised Dark Soy Chicken Rice and the delicious Kelantan Beef Noodle. And of course, the Ice Kacang is in my ‘to order again in my next visit’ list as well.

Overall the dining experience here is really pleasant. The cafe offers a taste of home cooking with chic ambiance and if you are looking to enjoy some all time Malaysian favourite dish, this might just be the place you would want to patronize.

Christmas Feast Above The Clouds at Resorts World Genting

Christmas is just around the corner and things are really feeling festive everywhere in Malaysia. Feeling the holiday heat and want to escape to somewhere cooler this Christmas? Why not take the celebration to a higher level and celebrate it at 6,000ft above sea level in Resorts World Genting? It’s a perfect holiday destination for those who are looking for a holiday escapade. Resorts World Genting is not only offering all the holiday fun and wonderful shopping experience but is all geared up to spoil and indulge food lovers as well, featuring traditional recipes, delicious banquets and mouth-watering treats. Resorts World Genting gets into the swing of the season in scrumptious style this month, as the resort’s numerous F&B establishments introduce festive menus and offers that conjure up the spirit and flavour of Christmas and celebrations.

Kicking off the gift of gourmet and goodies is the Santorini Village at SkyAvenue Mall, designed to resemble the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece with a winter twist. Amid the sparkling lights and towering trees will be a delicious-smelling blue-and-white kiosk serving all sorts of seasonal treats from Christmas gingerbread figurines, Christmas lollipops, delicious chocolates, mouth-watering cookies and traditional confectionaries such as Christmas stolen, Christmas yule logs and Christmas cakes. This gift of freshly-baked Christmas confectionaries and cakes can also be found at The Bakery on the ground floor of Genting Grand from 28 November 2018 to 1 January 2019.

Elsewhere in SkyAvenue, the bounty of the season will be celebrated with hearty menus and special culinary promotions. At La Fiesta, a special dinner menu will be held between 8-14 December 2018 to celebrate the arrival of Hermanos Lurton wines to Resorts World Genting. Featuring a tailor-made menu by Chef Jacobo Astray, a graduate of El Bulli who has now started Gula in Bangkok, the dinner pairs creative twists on Spanish tapas staples – like chilled gazpacho soup, wild mushroom croquetas, grilled octopus and crunchy torrijas – with the complex beauty of Hermanos Lurton wines.

Just a short walk down an escalator from La Fiesta, Park Avenue Lounge sets the stage for a sophisticated Christmas Eve and New Year Eve celebration on 24 and 31 December 2018 with a canape and wine package (RM250 nett including a bottle of wine/RM500 nett including a bottle of cava). Countdown to Christmas and New Year 2019 with soaring views of the resort while nibbling on smoked salmon crostini, Christstollen roast chicken and honey glazed duck. The lounge will also be serving a special English high tea set with dainty finger sandwiches and delectable sweet treats on 24, 25 and 31 December 2018, and 1 January 2019.

Around the corner from Park Avenue Lounge is the decidedly chic Parisian vibe of Cafés Richard, which is making the month a very sweet one with a Christmas High Tea set.

image

Until 1 January 2019, guests can tuck into sweet treats like pecan tarts, butterscotch eclairs, strawberry mille-feuille and crème brûlée, served alongside an appetising array of savoury bites like lobster on toast, escargot, foie gras tartlets and duck rillette. And specifically for the season, Cafés Richard will be brewing special Christmas drinks, including a Christmas tea and classic coffee drinks graced with creative Christmas latte art.

Next door, Burger & Lobster celebrates the season with liquid promotions – including five-bottle beer buckets, Tower of London with Moet & Chandon Champagne and a soft-shell crab package with 4 signature drinks– from 1-31 December 2018.

Turkey is the traditional meat for Christmas and Resorts World Genting honours that convention appetisingly. At Genting Grand, Coffee Terrace will be serving up whole roast turkeys – and all the trimmings – at its extensive annual festive buffet spread, priced at for the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/New Year Day lunch and dinner. At Flavours in Awana Genting, turkey will play a headlining role in the a four-course Christmas Eve/Day dinner menu, while wagyu beef is the featured meat in the restaurant’s five-course New Year’s Eve menu. Whole-roasted turkeys will star in a stunning Christmas Day buffet spread at Rajawali Coffee House – mixed in with a grand selection of local and Western dishes – and for those that want to take the magic home, take-away roast turkeys (with potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and turkey jus) will be available at The Bakery at Genting Grand and Bubbles & Bites at Maxims Hotel for average 4 kilos) on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with pre-orders opening 13 December to 23 December with full payment. Collection is on 24 & 25 December.
