There are plenty of nice dimsum shops around in Kuala Lumpur but if you are looking for Muslim friendly ones, that’s another story altogether. It’s pretty hard to find a nice pork-free or Muslim friendly dimsum restaurants as most of them are non-Halal or pork serving. Here’s sharing a dimsum restaurant that’s Muslim friendly; Dolly Dimsum.
Dolly Dimsum is a modern intrepretation of a traditional Chinese teahouse. There’s a few Dolly Dimsum outlets in Kuala Lumpur but here’s sharing what my family and I had at their Nu Sentral outlet.
Plenty on the menu for you to choose from, Dolly Dimsum offers an all day dim sum grazing experience.
Some of the recommended items on their menu are as below:
Har Gao Dumpling and Yam Croquette. I did not take a bite of the Yam Croquette as I’m allergic to yam, but the dumplings are not too bad. Wrapped in thin layer of skin, the dumplings were stuffed with juicy prawns, giving you a pretty much satisfying but addictive bite.
Siew Mai Dumpling and Dolly Mozza Roll. These duo is a must try if you like fried dimsums.
Egg Custard Bun and Salad Prawn Dumpling. The egg custard bun may look normal but don’t let the apprarance deceive you. It’s filled with creamy and eggy surprises. Definitely a must try. Salad Prawn Dumpling on the other hand, were nicely crisps and flavourful.
Overall, the dining experience in Dolly Dimsum is all right. Highly recommended for you to patronize during non peak hours if you want to slowly enjoy what they have to offer on their extensive menu.
Like most Dimsum Restaurants, this restaurant accepts walk ins but a reservation prior visit is recommended if you are heading over in a group or a large crowd.
