Would you believe me if I told you that there’s a Heavenly Horse in SkyAvenue? Yes? No? Well, I’m just kidding, but it is true that there’s a shop that was named after one; Tian Ma Bird Nest. The word “Tian Ma” can literally be translated as the Heavenly Horse or the Sky Horse, but if you are expecting the shop to sell things that are related to horses, then you’ll be sorely disappointed.
Tian Ma Birdnest actually sells all sort of bird’s nest products and tonic soups and is a must go to place if you are looking for some food that will nourish your body inside out.
Tian Ma Bird Nest generally serve bird’s nest soup at their outlet.
For those who are not familar with bird’s nest soup, it is actually made from
edible bird’s nests that’s created by swiftlets using solidified saliva, which are harvested for human consumption. The nests has been used in Chinese cooking for over 400 years, and most often as bird’s nest soup.
Here’s some of the highlights from Tian Ma Bird Nest; Chicken Bird Nest porridge and Bird Nest with coconut. Fairly refreshing take from the usual plain bird’s nest soups.
Chicken Bird’s Nest Porridge (RM38). This bowl of Chicken Bird’s Nest porridge is definitely luxurious. These soup and dishes that are served in Tian Ma Bird Nest are highly nutritious and contains natural anti-ageing properties. Back then, due to the difficulties of harvesting the nests, only the members of the Chinese imperial family and the rich could afford to consume bird’s nest soup, but now, you can indulge in these luxurious food without breaking a sweat at Tian Ma Bird Nest as they are reasonably priced and not overly expensive.
