They don’t write wonderful YA books like this anymore. There’s always the paranormal creatures or mythical creatures in love with human kinda stories and whatnot, and I’m kinda wary of that lately. And so, it is refreshing to finally read something purely old school and adventurous like this book, ‘Quest For The Scorpion’s Jewel’.

This book is purely teenage escapism and definitely something I would approve my young teenage boy or teenage girl to read to pass their time.

This book is highly entertaining and quite challenging in some ways, and if you’re young at heart, you would enjoy reading this book too. It’s been quite some time since I got hooked to such a book since ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ by C.S. Lewis.

A word of warning, though: Be prepared to be taken on an adventure of your lifetime without even needing to step out of your room.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Warner Press via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book.

Book description:

The Amarias Adventuresâ„¢ begin when 15-year-old Jesse befriends a band of young warriors and risks his life to find a cure for their poisoned leader, Parvel. Though Jesse has a crippled leg, he is asked to join the remaining warriors–part of an elite fighting force known as the Youth Guard–on their mission for the king. Facing danger at every turn, Jesse, Rae and Silas journey over treacherous mountains and across a scorching desert. To make matters worse, an unknown enemy seeks to end their quest before it has even begun. Where is Parvel’s God when they need Him most? And with so little information to guide them, how will they ever complete their mission and find the Scorpion’s Jewel? Will they even escape with their lives?
