After dinner all guests adjourned to the Arena of Stars for Hong Kong’s popular singer Hacken Lee Chinese New Year Concert. The energetic concert started from 10pm and ended almost three hours later. He surprised the crowd by delivering many of his greatest hit songs of which some were pieces sang by Jackie Cheung, Alan Tam, Leslie Cheung and other popular singers. During his solo concert he also brought in two special guest artistes namely the young and talented local Huqin artist, Chan Pik-sum and special guest RX rapper artist Wong Ho Pong.

Pik-Sum showcased her skills on the Chinese bowed string instrument known as Erhu in a romantic music called Fly Flower.  She also used a higher pitched erhu called Gao-hu in another popular Cantonese folk song called Half Moon Serenade. While Pik-Sum serenaded the audience with heavenly music, next up came RX rapper artist, Wong Ho Pong who awed the audience with his rendition of hip hop pieces that included rhythmic and rhyming speech plus MCing/rapping.

The atmosphere at the concert was exuberant.  Before the clock striked 12.00 midnight, Hacken Lee made a countdown together with the guests and welcomed the lunar New Year with a bang. He walked down from the stage to shake hands with his fans before giving away fortune bags and goodies.
