To welcome the year of the
Rooster and to share the happiness and joy together, AnCasa Hotel & Spa, Kuala Lumpur officiated a festive programme of “Lion Dance Blessing Ceremony”. A series of celebration activities including the traditional ceremony, lion dance performance and
tossing of yee sang ceremony were held symbolizing good fortune and happiness throughout the year.

It’s an annual ritual at the hotel, on this auspicious 12th day of the Chinese New Year. Persatuan Tarian Singa Dan Naga Kun Seng Keng, Kuala Lumpur,
strike up a beat, continuing with a resounding, rhythmic performance that surprised all the hotel guest.

The lion dancers show off their agility and skill, moving energetically with the lion’s head and body to the thump of the big drums and the clashing of the cymbals. Watch as a lion comes to life as performers do amazing acrobatics and
dances to mimic a lion’s movement.

The ceremony kicked off with an eye-dotting performance officiated by Mr. Shah Azam Khan, followed by the lion dance performance with the
sound of gongs and drums. The energetic lion then marched into the hotel with blessings to extend the warmest welcome to guests. Numbers of people and tourists were attracted by the performance and the atmosphere was delightful.

Following the performance, the “lions” walked around the hotel, blessing staff, before presenting a “platter of prosperity” to Mr. Shah Azam Khan. A must have during Chinese New Year, the hotel hosted a yee sang tossing ceremony, with its own unique
spin on the dish involving large chunks of salmon and other ingredients.

To celebrate the special occasions, Saffron Brasserie Restaurant jointly served a wide range of Chinese New Year delicacies and festive feast for their guests to have a fruitful start for the year.
