Smartphones and gadgets has become part of our lives to the point that sometimes, we couldn’t even bear to part with it even when we are eating. This is not a very healthy habit, in my opinion and I often insist my husband and friends to put away their smartphones whenever they are having meals with me. But it’s easier said than done. Most of those people whom I’m close to have the habits of using gadgets during mealtimes. And because of this, I prefer to dine in places where 100% involvement and attention during mealtimes is required. And here’s my most recent choice of remedy to such bad habits during mealtime: Barbeque Nation.

Barbeque Nation is one of India’s largest casual dining joint. Located in the heart of the golden triangle in Kuala Lumpur at Pavilion Elite, Barbeque Nation is a restaurant that adopts the concept of live grills embedded at the dining tables. Barbeque Nation more than 112 outlets over 65 cities throughout India. Barbeque Nation can be spotted easily in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. 

The restaurant is basically a traditional barbeque restaurant with a modern twist, offering premium items with a focus on a wide variety of fresh, high-quality ingredients and here’s sharing with you my most recent dining experience at Barbeque Nation. 

The main attraction in Barbeque Nation is the eat-all-you can live grill. Similar to the Chinese hotpot meals where you dumped all the ingredients in the hotpot and wait for them to be cooked, the eat-all-you-can allows you to cook your own grill ingredients right at your table to enjoy in Barbeque Nation. I assure you that your hands will be so busy grilling and enjoying the food to be looking at your gadgets.

As mentioned above, it’s an eat-all-you can. And therefore, these are refillable upon request. The famous starters on offer includes Burnt Garlic Chicken Tikka, Chicken Shish Tawook, Char Siu Chicken Wings, Mutton Mint Seekh, Hariyali Fish Tikka and Arabic Prawns. Apart from that, they have the vegetarian option of mouthwatering Peri Peri Mushrooms, Sweet & Sour Grilled Tofu, Rice & Corn Cake, Chilli Garlic Grill Vegetables, Cajun Potato Wedges, Balsamic Bib Pineapple and Corn on Cob.

Take a look at my barbequed skewers. Done right at my own dining table. Looks tempting, no? I had a lot of these. Wonder how many I had during my visit? I had alot of these. But as the exact amount that I requested to refill, well, ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies. I prefer to not let you readers to think of me as a bottomless pit of a glutton.

Apart from the live grill, Barbeque Nation offers buffet spread and live-cooking stations as well. The menu lists spans from Mediterranean, American, Oriental, Asian and Indian cuisines, so diners are definitely spoilt for choices at Barbeque Nation and one can’t complain of not having enough to eat at Barbeque Nation. Diners get to savour unlimited dishes from a wide range of buffet spreads featuring mouthwatering selections of meat and vegetarian delights. 

Here’s a must try from the Live Chat station; the Pani Puri. This is basically a bomb in the mouth, so be prepared for some explosive flavours to spike up your palate when you had this.

Barbeque Nation does not only offers savoury food but will indulge those with sweet tooth as well.

The dessert counter offers all sorts of delicious desserts, including cakes, mousses, puddings and assorted Indian Desserts.

Beverages aplenty. However they are not included in the buffet. Only drinking water will be provided during the entire meal. Should you want to try out the assortments of fancy beverages in Barbeque Nation, you will have to order them seperately.

Barbeque Nation is definitely a place you would want to go with your family and friends to enjoy a good meal. The best part of it all? The place’s environment and food will encourage you to put away your gadgets and focus on what really matters; food and each other.
