Cleaning Up Made Easy with RAYCOP

If you have been following me on my social media, you’d realize by now that the #KonMari a.k.a Marie Kondo wave has taken me by the storm since last year. No idea what #KonMari is? Well, you may look her up on the Internet. She’s basically a cleaning up and a decluttering guru who inspire many around the globe to spark joy through cleaning up and decluttering. I am one of those who was inspired by Marie Kondo. The Konmari method is seriously lifechanging. I used to hate staying at home as it used to be super cluttered and messy but now I feel more at ease and happy now that everything at home is properly organized since I got rid of the things that doesn’t spark joy anymore.

Apart from decluttering and organizing, I also have been on religiously maintaining order at home by keeping things clean. I hate to do things manually, and therefore, I’m constantly on the lookout for gadgets that will make my spring-cleaning missions a breeze. And here’s sharing with you an awesome cleaning up gadget; RAYCOP.

image

This is basically an allergen vaccuum machine that helps to suck dust from fabrics.

image

Here’s a closer look at the machine. RAYCOP allergen vacuums had a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particular Air) filter fitted with a fine mesh to trap 99.9% of the dust mite matter, dirt, pollen and pet dander that settle on our fabric surfaces such as mattress, pillows, sofa and our children’s toys.

image

The machine is very easy to use and even children can handle it with ease. All you need to do is just switch it on and run it through like a regular vaccuum cleaner on any fabric surfaces that you’d like to clean.

image

RAYCOP uses a powerful UV lamp with a wavelength calibrated to effectively eliminate over 99% of bacteria from fabric surfaces throughout our home. The UV light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light. With the UV light, it also alters the DNA of dust mite eggs and significantly reduces egg hatch rates. RAYCOP had the combination of suction and vibration along with the UV light which is proven to eliminate 3 times more allergens than a regular vacuum. RAYCOP has pulsating pads to loosen and lift particles and suction calibrated to be powerful enough to effectively remove debris and allergens from fabric surfaces yet is gentle enough to safely use on delicate fabrics without tugging or trapping the fabric. The particles also pass through a dual filtration system where larger particles are trapped in the dust box filter and microscopic particles are trapped in the HEPA filter so they can’t be released back into the air.

image

The HEPA filter traps the particles without releasing them back into the air like the exhaust of a regular vacuum does. These particles that are removed are common irritants that affects the health of our family members.

image

Here’s yours truly using RAYCOP. It takes me just about 3 minutes to vacuum my son’s mattress.

image

Check this out. These are the dusts from my son’s mattress. How horrifying. Can you see the difference between the clean filter on the left and the dirty one on the right? I shudder whenever I think that my son have been sleeping with these.

image

Getting rid of the dusts that has been collected in the filter is really easy.

image

All you need to do is just run the filter through tap water and brush it a little with a small brush, and leave it to dry before using it again.

image

Yes, I must say that using this machine definitely sparks joy. What’s not to like about it? It not only helps me save time cleaning up, but keeps my family’s health in check too; with my husband having lesser sinus problem in the morning and my son no longer complains of itchy skin whenever he sleeps in. This is without a doubt a keeper and I positively recommend this as your spring-cleaning assistant.

Malaysians generally love their food and SkyAvenue is certainly a great representation of that with the variety of food under one roof. One of the establishments that came highly recommended js Motorino, the first establishment in Malaysia from the brand hailing from Brooklyn that offers superbly authentic Neapolitan pizzas, perfect for sharing with the whole family that even the kids will love.

image

What child doesnt enjoy pizza? At Motorino  the famed New York pizza parlour from Brooklyn brought to Malaysia exclusively under Resorts World Genting  there is dough and cheese for everyone.  Families will be able to enjoy a special menu, the Family Feast that includes 1 pizza, 1 pasta, 1 chicken meatballs, 1 salad and 4 drinks. Its a full and fulfilling meal that an entire family can enjoy which showcases the best of Motorino  authentic thin-crust wood-fired Neopolitan pizzas with over 20 types of lavish toppings, traditional Italian pasta recipes, bouncy and tangy meatballs, as well as salads made from the freshest ingredients.

For a taste thats closer to home, families can indulge in a truly Malaysian restaurant this March school holidays at Madam Kwans. A storied establishment started by Kwan Swee Lian to serve elevated Malaysian hawker cuisine, Madam Kwans has been a national icon since 1977. The restaurant will be encouraging families to share in March, with four special set menus to choose from.  This include a starter, main course and dessert.
Start your meal with fried dumplings, satay, otak-otak or fried chicken wings and continue to choose from classic favourites such as Pan-Fried Tenggiri Fish, Curry Fish Head, Beef Rendang, Foo Yong Egg, Claypot Seafood Beancurd and Sambal Petai Prawns. Your meal will be finished off with cool desserts like Cendol or Sago Gula Melaka. Dim sum gets cute at Wanhoi Yamcha. The elegant clatter of chopsticks and plates starts early at this modern Cantonese restaurant, and runs throughout the day into lunch and dinner. Tampopo Delicieux, Resorts World Genting Offers Authentic Japanese Delicacies

Tampopo has six successful outlets in Singapore revolutionising  Japanese dishes in our neighbouring country, with two pastry shops Dulcet & Studio being the perfect place to enjoy a lazy afternoon tea.

For the first time, the two concepts have been married in one space to create Tampopo Delicieux. Tampopo has been voted by 200,000 people as the Best Japanese Restaurant in Singapore by the Asia One Peoples Choice Awards 2016, ensuring a delightful meal for all patrons. Following the success of SkyAvenue, the first Malaysian outlet of Tampopo, they also opened up a second outlet at KLIA2 which features a Grab & Go concept. The restaurant, just a stones throw away from the indoor theme park Skytropolis Funland, is decked in hues of Tiffany blue with wooden beams, fitted with modern chandeliers of bright transparent bulbs.

Despite the success of his restaurants, Takaaki Takagi, the Managing Director of Creative Food Concept Pte Ltd., the company behind Tampopo is still heavily involved in the business, training his chefs personally almost 365 days in a year, except when he is in Japan sourcing ingredients. He said, We are one of the few truly authentic Japanese restaurants in Malaysia and Singapore. For me, before opening a restaurant, three principles are imperative: authenticity, choosing the best ingredients and having an affordable price. I am not worried about people duplicating recipes as I believe that simply following recipes do not make the taste.

image

Born in Gifu, Japan, Takagi has had a long history of being in the food business. This extends to his family, who has run a Japanese rice wine or ‘sake’ company in Japan for more than 300 years, a business now run by his sister. He moved from Japan to Singapore at a relatively young age of 25, venturing into the beverage industry under the brand Pokka. He struck lucky despite actually having a background in Law as his recipes were self-taught with no actual formal training. Since then, Takagi-san, as he is known, has expanded his business into a small empire. He has also earned himself the moniker Father of Tonkatsu as he realised the potential of tonkatsu and was the first to popularise it outside of his home country.

image

Tonkatsu usually consists of a breaded deep-fried pork cutlet served with shredded cabbage and tonkatsu sauce. To cater to Malaysians, the version served in the Tampopo outlet in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting is the Chicken Katsu.  Takagi proudly explains that instead of using locally sourced products, he painstakingly imports most of his ingredients from Japan as a challenge to himself to recreate the taste found in his native country. This is especially important for the katsu batter as the Japanese variant is known as being the best in the world because it is 30% less oily, a fact appreciated by his customers as the outer layer of the tender chicken is crunchy without having the usual oily texture.  For the calorie conscious, this version excludes cheese whilst maintaining its juiciness. To maintain this consistency, Takagi actually created a tonkatsu machine to churn out perfect versions of the low-calorie tonkatsu for every serving.

For Malaysians and Singaporeans, Ramen is now a staple dish in every Japanese restaurant. However, Takagi can also be credited with bringing over the beloved Japanese fare over to local shores. Not many restaurants can claim this, but the broth of the ramen soup is actually flown over on aeroplanes to arrive directly in Malaysia rather than being made in-house or by local suppliers. Whilst most items of the menu are made in Tokyo style, the dashi or broth is a combined version of Hokkaido and Kyushu recipes as Takagi deems the Tokyo version too simple for local palates. For food aficionados who love fiery flavours in their food, their Spicy Chicken Katsu Ramen is a must-try on the menu. Their soup is light, topped with finely shredded cabbage, spring onions and chilli flakes served with chicken katsu.  For those who like to keep things simple, their Chicken Chashu Ramen similarly doesnt weigh heavily on taste buds but is rather flavourful, topped off with springy noodles, soft bamboo shoots, and well-marinated chicken.

Tampopo offers a wide selection from mouth-watering basics to more premium dishes. Their Don menu, literally meaning bowl has rice bowl dishes such as Chicken Teriyaki Soboro Don, served with both ground chicken and finely scrambled egg. Their menu also offers mini dishes for small eaters, besides rice dishes such as their Beef Rice Don as well as Soba, Udon and Tempura. For families enjoying a holiday at Resorts World Genting, Tampopo is also perfect for the little ones as children will be treated to a customised kids menu that balances health, nutrition and delicious flavours. They will be able to choose from the best cuisine that Japan has to offer like Ebi Tempura + Chicken Katsu Ball + Tamago Yaki, Ebi Tempura + Takoyaki + Curry and Chicken Teriyaki Ramen. Each meal is served with a lovely soft-serve green tea ice cream. The Vegetable Tempura Moriawase and Hot Udon are also the perfect choices for vegetarians.

image

The desserts are definitely worth saving a space in your stomach as rather than being the perfect end to a meal, they are a good reason on their own to visit the establishment. For those who are looking to indulge their sweet tooth after breathing in the cool and fresh air of Resorts World Genting, Tampopo offers a wide selection of desserts including Fruit Roll Cake, Milk Pudding and Hokkaido Green Tea Ice Cream. For those who have never tried Japanese desserts, this is definitely a good place to start. You cant mention Japanese desserts without thinking of matcha and their Matcha Cream Puff does not disappoint with a crunchy texture that overflows with fresh and rich green tea cream without overpowering the pastry. An alternative (although why not have both?) is their donut-sized Cream Puff with thick vanilla cream, much larger than your average cream puff.

The highlight is the deceptively simple Scoop Cake which is indescribably delightfully soft and fluffy, topped with fresh fruits. Matcha lovers can further satisfy their cravings with the Hot Matcha Green Tea Latte, Matcha Milk Shake and Ice Matcha Latte.

Tampopo Delicieux is located on Level G, SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. Operation hours are from 10am to 10pm, daily. For more information, please call +603 6101 1118 visit www.rwgenting.com.

Althea Makeup Tutorial for Men

Who says makeups are only for the ladies and only the feminine sex should use them? I don’t believe in such stereotype and discrimination. I believe that men too should be allowed to use makeups to groom themselves to look good and presentable too without being condemned for being vain.

If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll know by now that I recently received a makeup box from Althea.

I’ve done a simple 2 minutes tutorial in the previous posts, featuring simple makeups for ladies but this time, I’d like to share with you some simple, natural look makeup tutorial for teenage boy/men using some of the products that I’ve gotten from the newly released Althea make up sets.

image

1. First, prep and cleanse the face by removing dirt, excess oil and inpurities by using Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask.

image

2. Next is to cover up sprouting pimples and sooth them wity Althea Skin Relief Spot Film Gel. This stuff not only helps to cover bulging pimples prior to any foundation application, but it’s really cooling and it not only helps to sooth irritated skin due to pimples, but it helps to reduce them as well after using them for long term.

image

3.Once the impurities are removed, pimples are ‘covered’, hide the skin’s flaws Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer. Here, the lightest shade Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer in Vanilla is used to cover up any imperfections.

image

4. Next is to warm and brighten panda-like eyes by applying BCLxA Sunrise&Moonrise Eye Pallete’s eyeshadow. Here, the shade #1 and #2 is applied together on the eyelids.

image

5. Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in #04 Marron Cream can be used to hide chapped lips and to brighten the pale lip shades a little. Simply dab on a little for a healthy lips effect.

image

And here’s the final result; a naturally healthy and clean look for a young man.

Looking good is not just about the looks. It’s about having enough self respect to look confident and presentable. I have always emphasized this to my son; looking presentable is a form of respect towards the people around us.

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), operator of KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants,  embarks on strategic partnership with FatHopes Energy Sdn Bhd (FatHopes Energy) to deploy sustainable practices and eco-friendliness in its operation by processing oil wastage into industry fuel.

image

The initiative is an effort in driving change towards social and environmental well-being while generating a consistent sustainable stream of biofuels originating from Malaysia.

image

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was formalized with a document exchange between Merrill Christopher Pereyra, Chief Executive Officer, Restaurants Division, QSR Brands and Vinesh Sinha, Founder and CEO of FatHopes Energy. The exchange was witnessed by Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, Chairman of QSR Brands and Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director of QSR Brands in a ceremony held at KFC Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur.  Also present during the ceremony was Dato’ Eddy Leong, COO of FatHopes Energy.

Dato’ Kamaruzzaman noted that the partnership with FatHopes Energy is a firm step forward in QSR Brands’ sustainability journey and is fully aligned with its renewed focus on an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, pointing to the many benefits derived from this initiative.

“The social outcome of this initiative focuses on channelling the used oil produced towards traceable, industrial application instead of running the possibility of any Malaysians consuming repurposed used oil in their everyday meals. Its environmental impact comes from the diversion of these oils towards biofuels which means significant amount of carbon* will no longer be emitted into the atmosphere. Lastly, the initiative has economic benefits too as a result of a significant increase in used oil income due to the added volumetric yield of used cooking oil recovery from the KFC stores,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari also noted that the proprietary FHE iTank System by FatHopes Energy, an innovative used oil aggregation solution that will be installed in all KFC restaurants, is designed to enhance operational efficiencies within the restaurant’s kitchen by eliminating direct handling as well as increase recovery yields significantly.

“We are very supportive of FatHopes Energy’s innovative waste recovery technologies, the speed of their commercial scale rollout targets as well as their passion for waste to energy creation.  Besides that, having them as our sustainability partner allows us to focus more on our core business, serving our finger lickin’ good chicken to the millions of customers every month,” he added.

Expressing confidence on the partnership, Vinesh Sinha said that the tie up with QSR is another significant milestone in FatHopes Energy journey and an exemplary initiative that should be adopted across the industry.

“We are fully aware of the multifaceted nature of climate concerns and recognise that there are limits to what a company can do independently in addressing such challenges. But we remain persistent and proactive in creating or exploring solutions that are not just economically sound but also bring about significant social and environmental benefits. We are grateful to have the support of QSR Brands and are happy to offer our expertise and capability to provide innovative solution in managing waste oil from all KFC restaurants in an ethical and highly responsible manner.” Vinesh said.

The initiative with FatHopes Energy will be rolled out in stages starting with the installation of FHE iTanks in KFC restaurants across Malaysia and potentially Singapore. The parties are now in final stages of discussion on the second phase of the initiative, whereby FatHopes Energy will operate QSR Brands’ biodiesel plant in Port Klang for waste based biofuels production. Operated by FatHopes Energy, the operational capacity of the existing biodiesel facility will be increased to drive the global agenda of decarbonisation – positioning Malaysia as a pioneer in the area of waste based biofuels production.

Althea Watercolor Cream Tint Review

I don’t do much makeups and I prefer to keep it simple when it comes to grooming. I have always believed that less is more, especially when it comes to dolling myself up and therefore, I’m always on the lookout for makeup products that will make me look fantastic but with minimal efforts.

image

And here’s some must haves if you want to look beautiful with minimal efforts; Althea Korea’s newly released Althea Watercolor Cream Tint. The Althea Watercolor Cream tint comes in 4 bold and lovely shades; #1 Plum Cream, #2 Strawberry Cream, #3 Peach Cream and #4 Marron Cream.

image

Check out the swatch on my hand. The shades are really deep, bold and striking. It’s especially great if you want to doll yourselves up without spending too much time in front of the mirror to paint your face. The colours are so bright and bold that it gives the illusion that you’ve done a full makeup by just wearing the the tint.

Here’s sharing with you how I look like wearing different shades of Althea Korea’s newly released Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in different shades.

image

#01 Plum Cream is a really daring shade that will make you stand out in the crowd. Highly recommended shade if you want to attend some formal or goamourous events.

image

#02 Strawberry Cream gives off bright red tint on the lips. It’s brighter than the #01 Plum Cream. #02 Strawberry Cream is a really wonderful shade to be used as blusher as well and it’s a must have if you love striking lip colours.

image

#03 Peach Cream is my favourite shade. Great to be used if you want to achieve a sweet, innocent and youthful look.

image

#04 Marron Cream is much more subtle in comparison to it’s sister shades. This shade is great for daily makeup look where you want to look good, but not striking enough that it’ll attract too much attention to yourselves.

image

Here’s sharing with you the picture of yours truly wearing all four shades. Do note that I was only wearing Althea Flawless Cream Concealer and Althea Watercolor Cream Tint, and nothing else. Not too bad, right? It makes me look presentable with minimal efforts.
The Althea Watercolor Cream Tint are moisturising on the lips, lasts quite long and does not stain easily too once they’re set in, and therefore it’s definitely a plus point for busy people who can’t touch up their makeups often like me. These sparks so much joy and they will definitely be permanent residents in my makeup pouch and on my vanity table.

For more information on the Althea exclusive Althea Watercolor Cream Tint that I’ve used; head over to Althea website HERE.The Althea Watercolor Lip Tint featured above are available only on Althea website.

2 Minutes Makeup Tutorial with Althea Exclusive Makeup Box

My favourite online shopping portal for Korean skincare and makeup finally released their own line of makeups and I got myself a boxful of them to try.

image

Here’s sharing with you what’s in the box:

image

Althea Makeup Box contains; Althea Skin Relief Spot Gel Film, Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer, Sunrise&Moonrise BCL×A Eye Pallete and Althea Watercolour Cream Tint.

image

Althea Skin Relief Spot Film Gel. This is generally used to create a thin layer of transparent cover for bulging pimples prior to any foundation applications before makeup. It also gives a soothing, minty effect. Apart from using this myself before painting my face. I also let my acne infested son use it and they works wonder on him. Will be talking about them in another post, soon, so KIV for it.

And here’s how it looks like on my lips with minimal makeup.

Although I’m really a vain person and loves to dress up simply to impress myself whenever I look at myself in the mirror wherever I go, I hate to spend a lot of time to paint my face. I prefer to keep things simple as I believe that less is more where makeup is concerned. Here’s sharing with you my 2 minutes Althea makeup box tutorial:

image

Step 1: Prep the skin with Petal Velvet Sunaway. Apart from providing UV protection throughout the day, it also helps the skin to stay moisturized, even after applying makeups.

image

Step 2: Use the Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer to cover up your flaws and imperfections. I usually will dab on some Althea Petal Velvet Powder in Lavender pink after applying the concealer as base, but I ran out of them and I yet to make a purchase and stock up on them, so this round I forgo the Althea Velvet Powder and just make do with the Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer. The outcome lacked the radiant effect without the Althea Petal Velvet Powder but the concealer works well to cover the flaws on my face.

Step 3: Brighten up your eyes with BCLxA Sunrise&Moonrise Eye Pallete. I’m not much an eye-shadow person. Most of the eyeshadows that I tried before in the past did nothing but dissapoint and frustrates me with their lack of pigmentations, but the BCLxA Sunrise&Moonrise Eye Pallete is such a joy to use. It’s easy to blend and glides on easily on the eyelids. And the best part? Every single colours on the pallete are highly pigmented and great to wear for long hours. For sparkly eyes effect that will help you stand out in the pictures, use some Althea Spotlight Eye Glitter as well. You may also complete your eye makeup with eyeliner as well for a more dramatic effect. I’m not an eyeliner person though and therefore, I exclude them in this tutorial. For this makeup look, I used shade #1 as base and #6 to fill in the eyelids.

Step 4: Create flushed cheeks effect by using Althea Watercolor Cream Tint. Yes. This cream tint is awesome. It’s originally meant to be used as lip colour but it doubles as a blusher as well. I used Althea Watercolor Lip Tint in #01 Plum Cream as blusher. The shade might be kinda overwhelming for those who prefers subtle blushing effect, but I like my cheeks looking healthily flushed and bright, so feel free to use other colours, whichever makes you happy.

Step 5: Apply the Althea Watercolor Cream Tint on the lips, and voila! You’re done. Since I’ve already used darker shade for my cheeks, I used Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in #03 Peach Cream to give the overall makeup look a sweet and youthful effect. Althea Watercolor Cream Tint in #03 Peach Cream is my favourite among all other colours available. It’s a cheerful colour that’s definitely a mood booster.

Here’s the pictures of overall look after about 2 minutes under natural sun lighting. It’s not my usual makeup look but if anything, I was told that I look younger than my age. A friend on my Facebook even commented that he thought I look like a girl in Blackpink (A currently famous Korean Kpop Girl Band). I’m definitely a happy camper and will definitely go for youthful look like this more often.
