Where to Eat in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting: Nene Chicken

Founded in South Korea in 1999, with the philosophy of providing a happy and positive lifestyle, Nene Chicken very quickly became one of the nation’s favourite fried chicken brands.

image

The word “Ne” in Korean means “Yes”. Hence, “Nene Chicken” means “Yes Yes Chicken”.

image

The ever popular Korean fried chicken is usually fried to golden brown and coated with a variety of sauces, spicy or otherwise. At Nene Chicken, their chicken went through a batter-dip process where oil does not seep into the chicken meat, hence keeping the meat juicy and the batter crispy.

image

I managed to sample some of their fried chicken and I thought that they are simply addictive. I prefer the non spicy one; the Bulgogi as the spicy ones are too hot for me to handle. Eating them could be a bit messy though, so be sure to use the plastic glove provided.

Where to Eat in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting: Babajia

Babajia is a restaurant that serves homey Peranakan cuisine and it is open 24 hours daily.

image

If you want to enjoy the flavours of authentic Peranakan homecooking, Babajia is the place that you should go to. The food here is definitely on the fantastic side and surpassed my expectation as a fussy eater.

image

Apart from their signature Baba and Nyonya cuisine offerings, they too have have luxurious soup and porridge like Abalone Chicken Porridge and Abalone and Ginseng Soup that’s simply delicious. These two are a must try in my opinion. They are richly nutritious. Babajia also have plenty of finger food if you are looking for some snacks. Among the addictive ones is the Fried Lorbak.

image

Abalone and Ginseng Soup. I detest everything herbal, but my friend ordered this soup and swears on her life that it taste sweetly good. It was gone under 5 minutes. So I guess this is quite safe to order if you are a fan of herbal soups.

image

Abalone and Chicken Porridge. I ordered this to start my day with and I have to say that it was really good. The porridge has a creamy texture and was really flavourful.

image

Fried Lorbak platter was adeptly fried wasn’t overly greasy.

Babajia is located just beside Richdad in SkyAvenue and is constantly flocked by both hungry diners and fans of Peranakan cuisine. But don’t let the crowd turn you off as their service is pretty much swift.

image

Char Koay Teow and Coffee set is a must for those who prefers a heavy local breakfast.

Where to Eat in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting: Sushi Zanmai

Love Japanese food and is craving for some delicious, made to order Sushi and Sashimi while you are on vacation in Resorts World Genting?

image

I believe Sushi Zanmai is where you need to be.

image

Sushi Zanmai serves all sorts of freshly made sushi and sashimi.

image

Here’s what my family and I had during our most recent foodie escapade in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. Their menu is pretty much extensive. Apart from sushi and sashimi, they are also offering Sukiyaki, Ramen and Donburis and here’s sharing with you what I’ve personally tried.

image

Beef Sukiyaki. Generally sukiyaki is a winter dish and it is commonly found at Japanese year-end parties. This Beef Sukiyaki from Sushi Zanmai consists of thinly sliced beef and is slowly cooked or simmered at the table, alongside vegetables and other ingredients, in a shallow iron pot in a mixture of soy sauce and sugar soup. The ingredients of the Sukiyaki are usually dipped in a small bowl of raw, beaten eggs after being cooked in the pot, and then eaten. I absolutely love this dish and would definitely order this again in my next visit.

image

Udon Kaisen Nabemono. This a variety of Japanese hot pot delicacy. Similar to the Sukiyaki featured earlier, this one comes in a clearer broth alongside with thick udons and assorted vegetables in it. I did not manage to have a taste of it, though. It was gone as fast as they came, so I guess this Udon Kaisen Nabemono is simply delicious and irresitible.

image

Edamame is served as an appetizer. It was freshly crunchy and kinda addictive on it’s own.

image

Hotate Mentaiyaki is not to be missed if you are a fan of savoury dishes. This Japanese scallop dish is meant to be taken on it’s own and it was done to perfection.

image

Tempura Moriawase is a dish of assorted fried vegetables fried in tempura batter. It was adeptly fried. Great to go with a bowl of Gohan or just on it’s own.

image

Ebi Tempura. Similar to the Tempura Moriawase, but is the prawn version instead of being served with assorted fried vegetable tempuras. Great to be had with a bowl of gohan, and even greater on it’s own.

image

Yakisoba. Yakisoba can be literally translated as”fried buckwheat,”. It is a Japanese noodle stir-fry dish and almost equivalent to our very own Malaysian Mee Goreng. Although soba means buckwheat, yakisoba noodles are actually made from wheat flour, and are typically flavored with a condiment similar to oyster sauce. The one served in Sushi Zanmai leans slightly on the sweet side, due to being stir-fried generously with vegetables. A must order if you are looking for a quick and nutritious meal.

image

Chicken Gyoza. Stuffed generously with minced chicken, this panfried Japanese dumplings makes great snacks, and children usually will find the dumplings really appealing.

image

Ebi Don is simply Ebi Tempura served over a bowl of rice drizzled with sweet soya sauce. In Japan, tempura over rice is simply called tendon. It’s a shortened word for tempura donburi. This is a must order if you love simple but delicious meal.

image

Chicken Ramen was on the savoury side. The broth was thick, rich and creamy apart from being perfectly flavoured. Noodle fans will definitely be impressed with this bowl of Chicken Ramen.

image

Kani Avacado Salad. Loves crabs? Loves avacado? There’s no need to choose between the two. You can have it both by having Kani Avacado Salad.

image

Pari Pari Kani Salad is actually crab meat and fish roe salad. Served with a side of toasted sesame dressing, this salad is simply delicious. The leaf part of the salad was crisps and fresh while the crab meat and the fish roe made the salad interestingly savoury on the palate. A pretty interesting combination to say the least.

image

Atsuyaki Tamago. Atsuyaki tamago is a Japanese style sweet omelette, and one of the typical Japanese side dish. The ingredients are just eggs, sugar and soy sauce. This multi-layered omelet known as atsuyaki-tamago appears frequently in Japanese-style breakfasts and bento boxes. Simply delicious. Even on it’s own. But not for those who typically prefers their eggs to be on the salty note as this is the sweet version of an egg omelet.

image

Mentaiko Spider Rolls. This softshell crab sushi rolls with avocado and mayonaise is to die for. Order this if you are not a fan of sushis with raw toppings like salmon or maguro slices. This Mentaiko Spider Rolls doesn’t disappoint.

image

Amagi Sahimi Moriawase feature 6 types of raw seafood sashimi. I did not touch this as I’m more inclined towards the warm dishes in Sushi Zanmai.

image

Sushi Moriawase features assorted freshly made sushis. Great for sharing.

image

Sushi Moriawase features assorted freshly made sushis. The platter is great for sharing.

image

Monaka. Not to be confused with the deliveryman character whom the God of Destruction Beerus uses as motivation for Goku to get stronger in the famous Japanese anime Dragon Ball Super, Monaka are actually a type of traditional Japanese dessert that consist of an outer crispy wafer with a sweet filling inside such as red bean paste, mochi, ice cream or chestnut. The one in Sushi Zanmai has vanilla and chocolate ice cream as the fillings. Must order. It’s not overly sweet on the palate and puts a satisfying end to your meal.

Where to Eat in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting: Boat Noodle

Boat noodles originates from the floating market of Ayuthaya in Thailand. On the rivers, locals will sell goods from their boats, including boat noodles. Noodles are usually served in large bowls, but it is inconvenient to do so on the boat, hence, smaller servings.

image

Similar to the original boat noodles serve on boats in Ayuthaya’s floating market, Boat Noodle maintained the traditional way of serving boat noodles; in small bite sized portion.

image

The delicious noodles are only prepared upon ordering, maintaining it’s freshness when it’s served on the table.

image

Here’s some of their highlights; Beef Pathumthani Rice Noodles, Beef Ayutthaya Rice Noodles, Beef Prosperity Yum, Chicken Pathumthani Rice Noodles, Chicken Ayuthaya Rice Noodles, Chicken Prosperity Yum, Fried  Wanton Skin and Fried Chicken Skin. Their not to be missed drinks includes;
Cha Yen, Kaffe Yen, Cha Keow Yen and
Cha Manao Yen.

image

Chicken Phathumthani Rice Noodles is my favourite among other flavours of noodles served in Boat Noodles. It taste slightly sourish and are highly appetizing.

image

Chicken Prosperity Yum is still quite new on their menu, introduced recently during the Chinese New Year’s season. It is by no means taste like the traditional boat noodles that usually comes with soy and herbal broth but this version of boat noodle were soaked thoroughly with creamy tomyam soup instead. A rather unique innovation, I must say, but mouthwatering nevertheless.

image

Fried Wanton Skin is one of the sides that you’d want to order if you want some crispy and crunchy topping on your noodles.

image

Fried Chicken Skin. Great to go as the noodle’s toppings or on it’s own. Warning: The fried chicken skin are highly addictive. Be sure to order more if you are dining in large group.

image

Sangkaya steamed bread was soft and fluffy and makes a sweet end to your savoury meals.

image

Their not to be missed drinks includes;
Cha Yen, Kaffe Yen, Cha Keow Yen and
Cha Manao Yen. So far I’ve only tried their Cha Yen, which is the Thai style milk tea. The Cha Yen is something to die for, especially for tea lovers like me. Some may find the Thai style teas a tad too sweet, but I assure you, that’s how they are served in Thailand and that’s also the reason why the tea are served with a lot of ice. The correct way to drink the tea is slowly sip them when the ice cubes started to melt.

image

I would recommend you to bring some friends and order bowls and bowls of the noodles to indulge on. They are dangerously addictive. Plus, stacking up the empty bowls after you finished slurping the noodles up is strangely satisfying.

image

Fried Chicken Wantan was adeptly fried. Goes well with the chilli sauce dip provided.

Where to Eat in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting: DOME Cafe

A cafe that has both relaxing environment and offers great selection of coffee and food is hard to come by. Some cafe has good environment but the food and beverages can be mediocre while some have mediocre ambiance but serves fantastic food. If you are looking for the best of both worlds when you are in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting, then DOME Cafe is your safest bet.

image

DOME Cafe is another place where you can get a quick warm meal and at the same time, receive the treatment of a VVIP while you are dining. Needless to say, their service is top notch and their food is amazing. That said, I’ve recently enjoyed a quickie meal over there and here’s sharing with you what I had:

image

Minestrone Soup, Roasted Beef Sandwich, Fluffy Kaola and Lemon Chill.

image

Roasted Beef Sandwich. The roast beef sandwich is a sandwich that is made out of sliced roast beef and served with a side of potato wedges and tomato dips. It may look like not much, but the portion is really huge. I actually shared this sandwich with my husband and still feel full afterwards.

image

Minestrone soup. I wanted something light and warm, and so the waiter recommended me this minestrone soup. Initially I wanted to order their mushroom soup but I didn’t regret going with this. It was really appetizing, and almost a meal on it’s own as well, considering it was served with garlic bread for me to eat it with.

image

Fluffy Kaola is something I picked out from the Kid’s Menu for my son and he likes it very much.

image

Lemon Chill is what I choose for myself. Very refreshing and definitely help me to not only cleanse my palate but helps me with my digestion as well.

I’ve patronized DOME Cafe SkyAvenue a couple of times now, both as influencer and paying customer and they never failed to impress.

Feeling cold and fancy something warm to fill up your tummy when you are in Resorts World Genting? Well, head over to I Love Yoo! in SkyAvenue.

image

I Love Yoo! is an outlet that is specialized in selling You Tiao and porridge.

image

Plain porridge, noodle with herbal chicken, taufufa and soya milk are among the must try things on their menu.

image

Porridge are served as it is, frill free. If you need to flavour it up prior to eating, you can top it with soy sauce or pepper that’s provided at the counter. I prefer to have my porridge with You Tiao. It’s the perfect combination, in my opinion.

image

Taufufa is is a type of Chinese sweet dessert made with very soft tofu. It is also referred to as tofu pudding and soybean pudding. It is known to have a coolinh effect on the body, so if you are feelinh feverish, this is one dish that you would want to have to reduce your heatiness.

image

You Tiao are lightly salted and fried in pairs with the center attached so that the dough becomes puffy and crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You Tiao are best eaten immediately after it is fried because of its tendency to become tough and chewy if left out for too long.

image

Youtiao with sesame is another version of the You Tiao that you might want to try over here. It taste much sweeter and crunchier than the plain version.

image

Assorted traditional fried snacks are also available for your enjoyment.

14 Days Acne-Free Challenge with Eucerin ProAcne A.I Clearing Treatment

image

So, about a month back, I received this challenge box from Eucerin. Inside this box is their brand new product, catering to those who have acne issues, Eucerin Pro Acne Solution A.I Clearing Treatment.

image

Now, I’m quite blessed with a non-acne skin and I rarely have any breakouts, unless I’m having my period. Even then, the pimples that popped up would merely be one or two, at the T-zone of my face or my chin. They will usually go away naturally within 2-3 days.

image

My teenage son on the other hand, is cursed with constance breakouts since puberty hits in. And this have been giving me terrible headaches, as it is pretty bad for both his comfort and self-esteem. At times, I’ll catch him tryinh to pop the pimples, which is terrible, as they tend to leave scars.

image

And so, I got him to take up this challenge with Eucerin Pro Acne Solution A.I Clearing Treatment instead.

image

Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment formula soothes irritation for smooth and healthy skin, with:
Ten percent Hydroxy Complex, a powerful combination of three peeling agents AHA (glycolic acid), BHA (salicylic acid) and PHA (gluconolactone), that helps renew skin surface, unclog pores, reduce acne-causing bacteria P. acnes and remove dead skin cells; Licochalcone A, a highly effective anti-inflammatory to soothe irritations and helps reduce redness;
Dexpanthenol, derived from vitamin B5, which is a powerful humectant that binds water to the skin, helping to make skin more resilient and less sensitive to environmental triggers.

Eucerin Pro Acne Solution A.I Clearing Treatment is pretty easy to use. All we need to do is just apply once a day on a well cleansed face. My son uses it before he sleeps daily and this is the result 14 days later.

image

And the result is this. What do you think? Much, much better, don’t you think?

image

The result is incredible. My son is now acne-free and is much more confident too. The picture speaks for itself and we’ll Eucerin Pro Acne Solution A.I Clearing Treatment. And we’ll definitely continue to use this.
