Quick and Easy Hair Colouring Experience at Hair Color Expert, Damansara Utama

Visits to the hair salons has always scare me. It’s not because the place is terribly scary, per se, but the exhorbitant amount of money and time that I usually have to spend at salons can be quite a nightmare at times. Some salons charges are ridiculously high for the services that they offer. And on top of that, we’d have to combat boredom while going through treatments and stuff. To be honest, it’s not my kind of thing. I’m not the kind of person who can endure sitting still for a very long time doing nothing. I get restless easily, you see. Plus, I’m a media practitioner and my schedule is always tight and I am always required somewhere. Taking a whole day off just to get my hair done is a no no.

But as much as I hated going to the salon, I’m due for some hair makeover. The last time I visited the salon was about a year ago and my hair started to look like it lack lustre and I thought it’s about time that I colour it up a lil bit.

And so, having recommended by a friend, I decided to visit Hair Color Expert.

image

Hair Color Expert offers all sort of hair colouring services; hair dye-ing, bleaching, highlighting, you name it. The best part of it? Their customers are mostly by appointments only, to avoid the long waiting hours and to preserve the quality of their services.

image

To make appointment with the Hair Colourists in Hair Color Expert, you will need to download their apps from the Playstore and install it. You may download the Hair Color Expert Apps HERE.

image

Once installed, open up the apps and set an appointment.

image

Pick the branch of your choice. So far they have two branches, one in Sri Petaling and one in Damansara Uptown.

image

Once you’ve set your appointment with Hair Color Expert, all you need to do is save the date in your calender and just confirm your appointment 2 hours before the exact time with them and turn up for your appointment at the Hair Color Expert branch of your choice.

Heading over to my appointment with my Hair Colourist at Hair Color Expert Damansara. Pardon the messy and oily hair look. I made it a habit not to wash my hair a day before colouring my hair to protect my scalp.

image

After checking-in at Hair Color Expert, you will be given a brief consultation on their services and how much they will charge you for. This is great for people like me who hates surprises and hidden charges.

image

Basically this is the price range. But if your hair is longer, you’ll be charged more and they will tell you during consultation.

image

They offers plenty of colour shades for you to pick from, but if you can’t decide, don’t worry. They will advice you on what will look great on you.

image

I informed my Hair Colourist during our consultation session that I am a Media Practitioner and I cannot go crazy wit the hair colours as it will look really strange in meetings and press conference. I told them that I needed colours that can help me stand out in the crowd but still can be considered decent. And so, I ended up picking up Ash Brown as my new hair colour.

image

It costs just RM172.80, inclusive of scalp protector treatment. Pretty reasonable, I must say. Considering my hair length is quite long, which is below my braline.

image

The entire process is not exactly time consuming. It only takes about 1 hour 30 mins to get your hair coloured.

Checking for ny scalp condition prior to colouring.

Scalp protector being applied to help protect my scalp from irritation.

The hair dye. It doesn’t contain any ammonia and surprisingly, it doesn’t emit any strange chemical stench like the usual hair dye that I’m used to. It is basically odourless and made the entire colouring process enjoyable.

Hair colouring in progress by the experts.

Hair colour application done. And all I need to do is just wait 30 mins before they wash everything off. The best part of it all? I can walk around for a cuppa coffee or tea in the salon while waiting for my hair to absorb the colour. I was not confined to the chair while waiting and this is the best thing ever.

I was given a hairwash after 30 minutes was up.

Being prepared for the next thing; the Nano Treatment.

image

The Nano treatment takes about another 30 minutes where your head will be all wrapped up and attached to a machine that produces steam.

image

I posted this up on my Facebook and went live. My friends all thought that I looked funny with hair all wrapped up in a big turban like this with steam coming out from the top of the turban. I was told that I looked like Davy Jones from Pirates of The Carribean and Majin Buu from Dragonball Z.

image

It is undeniable that I looked funny. Personally I think I looked like a real cute version of Majin Buu myself with all the steam coming up but this treatment serves a purpose to treat damaged hair. The treatment is a semi-permanent hair repair and smoothing system that locks in colour and transforms dry, damaged or unruly hair into stronger, repaired hair with less improved and improved elasticity that’s easy to maintain and looks and feels incredible. My hair was actually infused with natural keratin restoring conditioner. Curly hair usually be more relaxed, substantially reducing the time needed to “tame it” every morning. This treatment is suitable for all hair types from over stressed, over coloured hair to untouched virgin hair giving you a glossy, manageable mane.

image

I was then given another hairwash after the Nano Treatment and my hair is left with a naturally glossy finish with lots of movement and ready for styling.

The finishing touch, my hair being styled up.

Looking at my reflection after everything is done.

image

I certainly like what I see. I feel like I’m worth a million dollar supermodel.

image

I think I look striking enough while looking classy and demure with this hair colour. Great enough to be outstanding but not overly standout in the crowd to attract unecessary attention. Ash Brown is definitely a colour shade that’s great for working professional.

One for the album. Me and my Hair Colourist.

I’m definitely a happy camper. What’s not to love? I did not have to wait long and I ended up with beautifully coloured hair that makes me pretty enough to make head turns. I have no complain here.
