Start! The Bible for New Believers, NKJV

I’m not a new believer, but I have difficulties understanding God’s words, and I always prefer to read children’s bible than the adult bible, because the words in children’s bible are easier to understand. You see, I am the kind of person who likes to read things that I can understand, not the other way around, so when it comes to bible, I’ve always preferred to read children’s bible. The words are simpler and not as confusing as the adult bibles.

Anyway, when I saw this Start! The Bible for New Believers, NKJV is up for grab in Booksneeze, I knew I had to order it. Why? Simple. Because it’s a Bible for new believers. And usually, bibles for new believers will contain explanation for the verses and scriptures, and I was right about this bible. It does contain explanation for those difficult verses and scriptures, and it also explains the theologies inside the bible.

The commentaries and the notes in this bible really helped me to understand God’s word better, and I like this bible very much.

This bible is perfect for those who wants to learn God’s words on their own. I give this a 5 star, and would recommend this as a gift for young teenagers or new believers. It’s really useful, I can vouch for it.

Another great thing about this bible is that it’s lightweight and easy to carry around. So if you’re looking for a bible that you can carry around everywhere… to school, to church and whatnot, this is the perfect bible for you.

Well,,, you know Bible itself is a book full of arguments and contentions, churches split because different parties interpret words of god differently. to quote an example…

many years ago, the daughter of one of my church leaders was in critical stage suffering from a sickness, prayed for recovery and all, no sign of improvement, then she succumbed to the illness….. that pastor was so adamant that the good Lord would raise her from the death (he claimed that that’s the promise of God)

Then the church started to pray for ressurection, i remember attending the wakes, even on the funeral day itself, even when the hearse arrived, he refused to put the body onto it, still praying for her “coming back to life”

i remember hearing the driver of the hearse,” you christian gila one” ..ditto.

finally, the church split, that pastor complained that the church was not united in praying for his daughter ressurection ..

therefore, cleff, to me as Christian i always believe that it is our personal relationship with God that counts and our own conviction towards the words of God that matters, and the Holy Spirit will always guide us do the right thing in accordance to the will of God…

sorry for the long post…..this post just reminded me of a conversation i had with another friend about God and Bible yesterday

Indeed… and sometimes, the churches or the extremists would twist God’s words. You see, I dun believe following the bible word for word… because there are loads of methaphors in the bible. And our relationship with God is nobody else’s business, is it not?

For what it’s worth, I believe that God will help those who help themselves…

hmmm…might thought of getting it as I also have difficulties understanding the adult’s Bible. Yes, I agreed with Eugene, it’s a personal relationship with God and I guess a same verse might have different views for different persons depending on the situation he’s in, where The Holy Spirit is guiding them.

This is available in your major bookstores… can find in MPH or Kinokuniya, maybe you can look it up.

I could never understand the bible…it’s written in a very confusing and rather lyrical language… I always need one that explain God’s word in a more simpler ways. I always prefer to read the Old Testament in children’s bible rather than adult or NKJV. Too complicated for me. 🙁
