There’s a saying that goes; “There’s no second chance to make a good first impression”. For what it’s worth, I certainly agree with that saying. How you present yourself to people for the first time usually will have a lasting impression, and therefore, I always believe in dressing up nicely whenever I step out of my house. This might sound really vain and superficial to most, but let’s not be hypocrite. The world is a very visual place and chances are that if you look good, you’re most likely to receive better treatment from people around you than those who doesn’t groom themselves.
Anyway, speaking of self-grooming, I was due for some haircut.
My hair was getting way too long for me to manage and looks rather unruly. And so I decided to have a little makeover. I wanted to cut my hair shorter and go for a more refreshing look.
My choice of salon; e3 Salon Masjid Jamek.
This salon is located just about 5 minutes walk from the Masjid Jamek LRT station in Kuala Lumpur, and is really spacious and equipped with state of art beauty equipments.
Here’s Sam Poon and I during our consultation prior to my makeover. He’s one of the star stylist here at e3 Salon Masjid Jamek. He suggested that I go for the in trend summer style, where my hair will be dyed to a natural- brighter colour and cut to a more manageable length for a fresher, and younger look.
First, I was given a haircut to my desired length.
Then, my hair was coloured after weighing my hair and scalp condition.
Then, it’s scalp consultation time. My scalp was scanned by using a scanner.
Apparently, I had quite alot of dead cells and accumulating dirt in my scalp that contributes to not only itchiness, but hairloss as well. And therefore, these undesirable things are to be removed by combing them away by using high frequency comb and wash away by using shampoo that will help treat the scalp and prevent hairloss after dye-ing my hair. More about that in detail in the next post, so KIV for it.
My hair being dyed
And here’s my new hair colour; Golden Brown. It’s naturally vibrant without looking unnaturally outrageos.
Next, my scalp was treated as to remove all the dirt and dead cells I mentioned earlier to prevent damage and hairloss.
And finally, styling it up.
Sam styled it up as he would do the Japanese Perm to give my hair beautiful natural looking curls.
My hair from the back
This is not permanent, sadly. If I want to perm my hair permanently, I would have to book another appointment as my fine hair wouldn’t be able to take colouring and perming on the same day. It would be quite damaging to do so in one day.
Here’s a video of the entire makeover process, do check it out. Overall I’m really happy with the makeover result. It made me feel much prettier and younger while retaining a natural and professional appearance.
