Breaking Dawn, Twilight Saga

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the Twilight Saga series. Now, before any of you condemn me for ogling the fictional Edward Cullen and the rest of the hotties in the Twilight Saga series, let it be known that I’ve been a fan of Twilight Saga even before it hits the silver screen.

From an author’s point of view, I find Stephanie Meyer’s writing rather mediocre, but that does not mean she did not bring her characters to life. I find the characters in Twilight novels rather alive and believable though the very idea about ‘vegetarian vampires’ are rather far-fetched. Twilight Saga, the novel, are easy read. And despite the fact that Twilight Saga novels are delivered in a very simple modern language, I find the romantic quotes by the protagonists are very heartwarming and sweet. There are nuggets of jokes and romance in each novels too.

Anyway, enough about the novels. What I really want to talk about today is the Twilight Saga that has been adapted into movies. I’m sure most of you have watched Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse from either the cinema or even the twilight saga triple box set and been wondering when will the production put you out of misery and come out with the highly romantic Breaking Dawn.

Well, wonder no more, folks, they are working on it and it will be a two-parter movie. Breaking Dawn The Movie Part I will be released somewhere  Nov 18th 2011 while Breaking Dawn Part II will released in June 2012. Most of the filming for Breaking Dawn Part I is done is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

*spoilers if you haven’t read the novel*

It is no secret that Bella and Edward will be married in Breaking Dawn despite the fact love is forbidden between human and vampires. It is also a fact that a child will be born out of their forbidden union. Breaking Dawn will be rated PG-13 for the uh…’romantic’ scenes… but if they stay true to the novel, I daresay Breaking Dawn could go beyond PG-13, because there will be erotic scenes involved. Well, you know, the usual sexy stuff. Feathers flying around in the nuptial chamber…furnitures breaking… uh… and the morning after where the wife lusts for more. 😛

*clears throat* Now back to business. As the leaks have it, there will be 5 essential scenes in Breaking Dawn, which is:

  • Bella and Edward’s wedding

Their long-awaited nuptials happen quite early on in the book and the leaks have it that it will be pretty much the same with the movie, much to the delight of fans. It’s a family affair that almost runs smoothly, no thanks to Jacob almost wolfing out when he learns that Bella plans to become a vampire. It’s a testosterone-fueled scene, with the boys once again facing off, but all will be well in the end.

  • Honeymoon scene in Isle of Esme

I’m not quite sure how they’re going to film this without getting beyond PG-13 as as far as I’m concern, there ought to be some celebratory skinny dip on the secluded beach on Edward’s part and uh… rather erotic scenes where Edward and Bella have sex for the first time. There’s also rumours saying that they will also include the pillow biting scene(don’t ask! Go read the novel) as well as the furniture breaking stuff. But I guess this is a good thing. The ladies will finally see Edward topless. LOL!

  • Jacob forming his own wolf pack

Jacob is totally fuming throughout Breaking Dawn which is completely understandable, really, seeing Edward has stolen his one true love and future mother of his pups. He narrates the second part of the book, and gives us an awesome insight into his mind.Unfortunately, The Pack are planning to kill Bella and her freaky fast-growing unborn child, and Jake doesn’t like that. He’s still madly in love with her and so he decides to break off from the pack and form his own, with Seth and Leah Clearwater for company.

  • Bella’s pregnancy with Renesmee and the birth of a half breed.

It’s gonna be really gruesome. I daresay this is where it gets gory where Bella gives birth to Renesmee and almost die herself. Edward finally realizes what he has to do to keep her alive; change her into a vampire. So he injects his venom straight into her heart, then bites her. Many times. All over her body. It might sound hot and steamy, but trust me it really isn’t it’s all done in despair and with a savagery we haven’t seen from the hot Mr. Cullen before.

  • Introduction to other vampire clans

Towards the end of the book, the Cullens are preparing to take down the Volturi, yet again, and enlist the help of several vampire covens from all around the world. It looks like it’s going to lead up to a huge battle, with casualties and bloodspill, but it doesn’t. There is one good thing to come out of an otherwise redundant section, and that’s a horde of new vampire characters. We meet the Amazon, Denali, and Irish covens, as well as the American Nomads. Some awesome characters are introduced, most notably Zafrina, Kate, and Garrett. Admittedly, they’re underutilized in the book, but a well-written script could allow them to take center stage and liven things up a bit.

So, now, ladies… especially ladies… are you looking forward to Breaking Dawn the movie? Can’t wait to watch it? Well, it’s gonna come out soon, but in the mean time, you can watch the ones that has been released. You know… Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse… get yourself a dvd box set and refresh your memories before the final showdown.
