Exclusive MIGF 2018 Feature: The Olive, Resorts World Genting

MIGF veteran and past winner of the Golden Cauldron Award, The Olive at Resorts World Genting has garnered a region-wide reputation for serving up some of the finest western continental haute cuisine in Malaysia and this year, they’re making a comeback at the renowned festival that’s being held from 1st-30th September 2018 and once again serving up mouth-watering dishes that’s simply heavenly on the palate.


Split into the main dining area and a cosy lounge with sunken bar and glass fireplace, entering The Olive feels like coming home. It would take pages to list the accolades that line the walls of The Olive, which has long been one of the culinary highlights Resorts World Genting, but if you are looking for something more intimate, this is the place you’ll want to be.


The Chef who is responsible for your gastronomic pleasure at The Olive? Well, say hello to Chef Mohd Radzuan Hamzah. Having begun his culinary journey helping out his father in the kitchen when he was a boy, Chef Radzuan made the move to Genting almost two decades ago where The Olive became his work place since it’s launching. Responsible for many of the awards it holds, he makes his fourth appearance as an MIGF master chef this year and will be presenting a menu that contains the best from the land and the sea.


I had the pleasure to experience a snippet of the tantalizing cuisine that The Olive have to offer at the festival preview that was held at Taste MIGF at Berjaya Hotel on 1st September 2018. The Olive has dished out these; Cold Tomato Essense Basil and Tomato Caviar, Beef Bourginone with Mashed Potatoes and 3 flavour Chocolate Mousse.


Cold Tomato Essence Basil&Caviar offers you a summery taste that’s not only refreshing, but nourishing as well.


Beef Bourginone&Mashed Potatoes is richly flavoured, but not overwhelming on the palate. Pretty comforting on the the tummy, this warrant for more than just one helping.


3 Flavours Mousse was simply divine. The bittersweet mousse practically melts in the mouth and a real treat for those with sweet tooth.

The little snippets was definitely worth a mention and if a preview is already that good, I can only imagine how delicious the festival offerings is at The Olive. I reckon it will definitely be worth the trip uphill for the entire course of the festival menu at The Olive.
