The inaugural Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta& Tourism Malaysia Dekat Je Carnival was launched today in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang by YBhg Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia. Also present at the launch was Chairman of BBKLCC Tourism Association, Mr. Joseph Yeoh and representatives from the association’s mall members of the BBKLCC precinct supported by Tourism Malaysia through its shopping promotion arm, Secretariat Shopping Malaysia.

The Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta& Tourism Malaysia Dekat Je Carnival will take place from 25t August-3 September 2017. Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta is the main event organized by BBKLCC Tourism Association for 2017, participated by seven popular malls in BBKLCC precinct: Fahrenheit 88, Lot 10, Pavilion KL, Plaza Low Yat, Starhill Gallery, Sungei Wang Plaza and Suria KLCC. Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta& Tourism Malaysia Dekat Je Carnival is one of the many events happening concurrently with the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival, the 60th National Day and the 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017. Aiming to attract more shoppers and tourists to the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta offers a curation of unique shopping experience, great bargains, rewards, special events and activities showcasing multi-cultural performances and food to encourage tourist shopping spending.

With the shopping tagline, “Super Bargains, Fantastic Experiences”, the event aspires to position Malaysia as a value-for-money shopping destination that delivers an unforgettable and personalized experience. Miss SHOPhia, the Malaysia’s ultimate shopping buddy introduced by Tourism Malaysia will guide shoppers and tourists to look out for and get the best out of the 10-day fiesta. Since her debut last year, Miss SHOPhia has been a constant figure in the KL shopping scene, serving as the ultimate shopping companion by keeping”fashionistas” and shoppers clued in to the latest trends on fashion, food, tech, gadgets as well as shopping news and happenings via her social media platforms.

In addition to the fiesta, Tourism Malaysia Dekat Je Carnival will showcase attractive and unique domestic tourism products, such as KL Arch Gallery and Conteng Kasot, as well as four theme attractions, Sunway Lagoon, Hello Kitty, Farm in the City and Bangi Wonderland, at affordable prices during the day event. This effort is in line with the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Dekat Je campaign. Last year, the number of domestic tourists grew by 5.3% to 66 million compared to 62.7 million in 2015 while domestic tourism expenditure increased by 9.4% to RM48.4 billion against RM44.2 billion.

AirAsia will be a partner for Miss SHOPhia BBKLCC Fiesta, organizing the 1 Million BIG Points “Whirlwind Wanderings” challenge where up to 1 Million BIG Points are up for grabs with a minimum spend from RM300 in any BBKLCC participating malls. AirAsia will also be giving 20% off mobile app promo to Nha Trang, Davao, Shanghai, Sydney and many more destinations during the fiesta. Visitors at Pavilion KL will be entertained with a weekly 1Malaysia dance performances from 26, 27& 31 August 2017 and 2& 3 September 2017 respectively. The exhibition will also be showcasing works by the emerging and talented young local artists Koo Yean Ni and Hasif Azizan.
