Where to Buka Puasa at Setapak Central Mall: My Dim Sum

I’m a huge fan of dimsum. Sadly, most of the restaurants that are offering dimsum on their menu are pork-serving and Non-Halal.

image

And so, when I discovered that My Dim Sum, a pork-free dimsum restaurant is opened just near home at Setapak Central Mall, I knew I had to check it out to fix my dimsum cravings. The restaurant is a pork-free and Muslim- friendly dimsum restaurant.

image

And here’s having a breaking fast gathering with my family and friends at My Dim Sum in Setapak Central Mall. We ordered their Ramadan Combo to share, which is plentiful for all of us.

image

The Ramadan Combo consists of 3 main course and 8 types of dimsums. In the picture: Mui Choy Bun, Salted Egg Yolk Bun, Steamed Homemade Fishballs, Tender Beef Balls, Siew Mai, Pan Fried Shanghai Dumpling and Pan Fried Teo Chew Radish Cake.

image

Salted Egg Yolk Bun and Mui Choy Bun. Both of the buns leans on a sweet note and is great to kick off your buka puasa meal with. They provide instant relief for hunger pang and comforts the tummy really well.

image

The assorted meatballs and dumplings on the other hand provides a variety of taste for you to indulge on. My favourite among all these would be the pan fried dumplings. They are filled generously with minced chicken fillings and was practically an explosion of flavours in the mouth.

image

Double Happiness platter consists of fried lorbak and crispy deep fried squid legs. These are really addictive and is a perfect dish for you to snack while chatting and catching up.

image

Curry Butter Prawn in Deep Fried Bread is a unique meal of it’s own, consisting of curried prawns served nestled in a deep fried bread basket. The curry is the rich and creamy variant that goes well with both bread and piping hot steamed rice.

image

Salted Egg Chicken was really good. The boneless chicken strips were practically an explosion of salted egg flavours in the mouth. It pairs perfectly as a side dish to a bowl of piping hot rice.

image

Fried Carrot Cake is one of my all time favourite comfort food, and I’m glad that My Dim Sum made this perfectly. It was pan-fried to perfection and was really addictive to have.

image

Chilled Honey Dew Sago was served as dessert. This bowl of refreshing goodness is generously filled with cubed honey dew fruit as well, and was definitely a sweet end to a sumptuos feast.

The dining experience at My Dim Sum Setapak Central Mall is fantastic. Good food, great companion, I can ask for nothing more.

Interested to dine at My Dim Sum this Ramadan and festive season? Well, head over there with your family and friends in tow for a delicious treat. The Ramadan Combo is priced at RM268++ and early birds are entitled to 10% off. The Ramadan offering is exclusively available at Setapak Central Mall outlet only.

Where to Buka Puasa at Setapak Central Mall: Nando’s

There are plenty of chicken restaurants in Setapak Central Mall, but if you are looking for a healthier choice of chicken meals instead of the usual fast food stuff, you might want to consider dining at Nando’s.

image

Located conveniently at the Ground floor of Setapak Central, Nando’s offers wholesome Portuguese-style grilled chicken dishes with various peri-peri marinades.

image

Here’s a picture of me at Nando’s Setapak Central during my most recent visit for breaking fast with my family and friends.

image

Food, glorious food. They have a Ramadan set meal but we didn’t order that. We went for the Full Platter instead. It comes with a whole chicken and a choice of 4 regular sides. This was a perfect portion for 3 or 4 adults.

image

As we were fasting throughout the day, we opted for the mild chicken instead of the spicy hot version of the chicken. The chicken was well cooked and delicious.

image

The chicken wasn’t dry at all and I loved the flavourfulness.

image

One of the sides that I chose; the coleslaw. The coleslaw was slightly sweet and goes really well with the chicken.

image

Got to have greens and carbs to go with the chicken so we requested the side salad and rice as well.

image

Garlic Cheesy Pita bread was fantastic. I wish I had the foresight to order a bowl of soup to dip it in with. That would have been perfect. But then again, it was already good on it’s own, so no regrets here.

image

Sweet Potato Fries. This was definitely a winner. Adeptly fried, the sweet potato fries is a refreshing change from the regular French fries that we are all familar with.

image

One for the picture. I definitely had an awesome breaking fast time at Nando’s with my family and friends. Not only the staff are helpful in recommending us their highlights, the ambiance at Nando’s Setapak Central is absolutely stunning as well it was overlooking a lake. Pretty romantic placs for a date too, I must say.

Where to Buka Puasa at Setapak Central Mall: Fish&Co

Tired of the usual ‘buka puasa’ meals and want something different? Why not head over to Fish&Co and indulge in some oceanic goodness, served creatively in a pan? I recently break my fast with my family at Fish&Co Setapak Central Mall and thought that Fish&Co offers quite an impressive Ramadan feast for you to break your fast with, for just a fraction of the price.

image

Located at the Ground Floor of Setapak Central Mall, this outlet offers a soothing and quaint ambiance for diners, with friendly staffs who are always quick on their feet to serve you.

image

Here’s sharing with you what Fish&Co is offering throughout the month of Ramadan.

image

The Ramadan Feast/Sunset Feast (RM119) offers a rewarding and satisfying meal after a long day fasting.

image

I love the seafood platter as it has all the right combination of seafood all put together. The Seafood Platter consists of Prawns, Mussels with Garlic Lemon Butter, Grilled Calamari, and Grilled Fish with Lemon Butter Sauce resting on a bed of flavourful seafood Paella Rice. The platter is designed for two pax but personally I think those with a smaller appetite will find the serving might be a little too large. But no complains here. This is without a doubt a platter great for sharing.

image

Peri Peri Grilled Chicken dish offers juicy grilled boneless chicken thigh in peri-peri sauce. It’s a must try if you want something besides seafood dish over here at Fish&Co.

image

Bombay Fish&Chips is a must try for those who want a little detour from the traditional no-frills Fish&Chips. The Bombay Fish & Chips is perfectly done with special herb and spices infused batter and served with a side of curry mayonnaise dip. It’s really an exciting variant of Fish&Chips, I must say.

image

Fried Calamari. Crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, the Fried Calamari makes a great appetizer or snack.

image

Dessert was Chocolate Ice Cream Waffle. I was absolutely full after all the delicious seafood feast, but a glance at this, I simply couldn’t resist the charms. The ice cream waffles was simply was not cloyingly sweet and is simply delectable on the palate.

image

Drinks are not included in the feast, so for thirst quenchers, we decided to pick these off from the menu; Peach Rainbow, Cranberry Float, Citrus Granade and 1 Litre Big Fish Drink- Retro Choc.

Overall, my dining experience at Fish&Co Setapak Central Mall surpassed my expectations. Not only the food offered was really delicious and fresh, but the staffs are attentive to our needs as well. I guess a revisit is in order and I will head over for a repeated experience soon in the nearest future.

Confess Your Love with Korean Secret Bento by Barcook Bakery

Would you believe me if I told you that I am an author for 30 published romance and fantasy novels,? Well, believe me, because it’s true. I was a romance novelist until I hit a terrible author’s block when I was in my late twenties. Regardless on how I try to get inspired again, I just couldn’t muster any romantic plots that actually make sense, and so I decided to just take a break from noveling and start blogging instead.

I am a hopeless romantic deep inside. Through writing, I gave birth to romantic and passionate characters who are unafraid of expressing their feelings, thoughts and love, who are so different from me.

I have always been good with writings, but never verbal expression. I’ve been married for almost 17 years, and yet I only told my husband that I love him twice throughout our marriage. Both times when I was extremely upset or emotional. As much as I love him, I simply couldn’t tell him that I love him so casually like everyone else.

I’m willing to bet that there are plenty of people who are like me too; those who love so passionately and deeply and yet words always fails them when it comes to confessing or expressing love verbally.

image

But worry not, people. There’s now a solution to that; if you can’t say it, just write to get your words of affection across. Barcook Bakery has come out with this genius solution where you can literally send sweet message across to your intended.

image

Located at The Sphere in Bangsar South, Barcook Bakery provides a solution for the hopeless romantic, the shy ones and those who have troubles expressing their love verbally; through the Korean Secret Bento-Box.

image

The Secret Bento Box comes in 3 flavours; strawberry, dark chocolate and oreo which are made with light, fluffy sponge, fresh components and filled with luxurious fresh whipped cream.

image

Here’s what I made for my husband. A not so subtle message asking for a kiss.

image

And when he opens it up, this message sending a kiss will appear.

image

Lovely and sweet way to send message of love across, don’t you think? I think this method is really romantic. Not only you can use this for your other half or lover, but you can use it to send well wishes and greetings as well. Simple and yet direct and cute.

Jalan Jalan Japan Opens at M3 Mall Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur

Love shopping and retail therapy but not really into bursting your budget? Need to get stuff for your home but household items are usually sold at a very expensive price in the regular malls? Well fret not. There are plenty of places in Klang Valley where you can actually shop without breaking your bank account, but my favourite got to be Jalan Jalan Japan Preloved outlet. As of writing, there are three Jalan Jalan Japan outlets in Malaysia. The first one is in One City Mall while another one is in 1Shamelin Mall and Seremban respectively. And soon, there will be another one opening on 18th May 2018 at M3 Mall Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur. As suggested by it’s namesake, these outlets are selling pre-loved items from Japan. Since the Jalan Japan outlets are all very huge, shopping can be quite overwhelming to some, and so, I’ll be sharing with all of you here some useful hacks and tips on how to shop at Jalan Jalan Japan and how to stretch your Ringgit while shopping at Jalan Jalan Japan and make the most out of your money.

image

Now, there are plenty of treasures here in Jalan Jalan Japan. Their most sought after preloved items are usually the preloved clothes.

image

Clothing are segregrated by gender. Eg: Men and Women as well as Children section. You can find all sorts of clothings over here; casual wear, formal wear and even winter wear with the pricetags of RM10 and above. If you are patient enough to sift through the aisle, you may also occasionally spot clothes that are going dirt cheap at just RM5. The key here is keen eyes and patience.

image

Most of the clothes are still in good condition, but you need to remember that this is a preloved shop, and therefore they do not allow any exchange after purchase. So, please try them on before deciding to buy any articles of clothing here at Jalan Jalan Japan.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan offers dirt cheap Yukata and Kimonos. If you are looking for Japanese traditional clothings to wear to Bon Odori festival or something but is on a tight budget, you may want to hunt them down at Jalan Jalan Japan. At just RM20-RM40, you can get a set of Yukata or Kimono. Obi and accessories like slippers and pouches are sold seperately though, so you’ll have to be creative a little bit and mix and match the outfits and the accessories.

image

Apart from clothings, hats are also spotted at Jalan Jalan Japan. At just about RM10 per piece, you can get really high quality ones. They are perfect for beach or summer vacation.

image

Ladies, especially the bag addicts will definitely appreciate this place. There are assortments of bags sold here at Jalan Jalan Japan.

image

My advice to you when walking down the bag aisle is that you walk slowly and inspect the bags closely and see what that might suit you fancy. There are alot of rare treasure here that are sold at very cheap price. This unique Bali style rattan bag for example was sold at just RM10. A real steal, I must say. Should you buy this elsewhere, it can easily cost you RM80 and above for a piece of bag that is even smaller than this one. Assortment of bags eg: handbags, backpacks, slingbags etc are selling for as low as RM10. Some of these bags are branded pre-loved bags that are still in a tip-top condition. Definitely worth your money, I assure you that.

image

Affordable kitchenwares are sold in abundance here in Jalan Jalan Japan, but do make sure they’re a suitable type and size for your stove before you decided to bring them home. Japanese lacquer plates and bowls as well as bento boxes aplenty. Their price starts from as low as RM3. You might want to take a look at this section if you are looking for some new permanent residence for your kitchen and dining table. A gentle reminder for Muslims and strict Vegetarians, these cookwares and dining utensils might have been used to serve all sort of meats and non-Halal items. If you are a devout believers, do perform ‘samak’ or cleansing ritual prior usage.

image

Hobby and outdoor section is definitely something you must check out if you’re into sports and outdoor stuffs.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan offers plenty of sports and fitness items over here. Yoga and fitness mat goes at dirt cheap price over here, and I even spotted a high quality Yoga mat at just RM10, which can easily cost up to RM70 elsewhere.

image

If you just started your fitness journey and needed some fitness equipments for your workout, this is definitely the place you would want to go.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan may not be a furniture shop, but they do offers some useful preloved household furnitures. The choice might be limited in comparison to specialty furniture shops, but they do offer some interesting pieces of furniture at ridiculously cheap price. Some coffee table and study table costs less than RM80. Even vanity table with lovely mirror on it costs merely RM70 over here. They are still in very good condition too, mind you. I got my classy looking multi-purpose foldable racks from Jalan Jalan Japan M3 Mall for just RM10. I nearly cry out in happiness when I saw that, I kid you not.

image

Wide range of babies and children’s toys, gadgets and accessories are available for your pickings. Collectibles from famous anime like Dragonball, One Piece and Gundam are available as well. If you are a collector, be sure to check out the toy section. Some of the toys have choking hazards and whatnot, so please lick up those that’s suitable for your children’s age only.

image

Soft toys offers plenty of branded preloved items, going at just RM10 and above.

image

This rare Meowth soft toy from Pokemon anime costs just RM10, among many other of his ‘friends’. This can easily cost you RM100 and above elsewhere. If you are a fan of branded soft toys, please make sure you go for a little dive at the soft toy section. You won’t regret spending time doing some digging over here, I assure you.

image

Check out my loot at Jalan Jalan Japan M3 Mall. I usually hunt down clothings and bags whenever I go for a shopping spree at Jalan Jalan Japan, but due to my previous retail theraphy, my wardrobe is already overflowing with clothings and accessories and therefore, I decided to buy other stuff instead this time.

image

My loot consists of Yoga set, Bento boxes, sleeping bags, teapot and a wooden multipurpose rack. My total damage was just RM121.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan is a real hot spot for bargain hunters, especially on weekends and the queue can be quite long.To make payment, simply line up, be patient and don’t cut queue.

image

It would be great if you have calculated your spendings beforehand when you were sorting out the items that you wanted and prepare exact change. It’ll help to speed up the payment process and queus will noticebly move along faster if everyone practices it.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan restocks their items really often, so do check them often too. You’ll discover that there’s always different things sitting on the rack during your visits. No matter what is your budget, I honestly think that Jalan Jalan Japan have something to offer for you. Their pre-loved items came straight from Japan and are second to none.

Sweet Memories with California Raisins Raya Rasa Sayang

I was never a fan of healthy diet or fitness. You see, I hardly gained any weight all these while, even when I indulged myself in countless foodie sessions. Those who knows me are envious of “blessings” where I can eat like nobody’s business and remained slim. And I have always taken this for granted until one day earlier this year, I couldn’t fit into one of my skinny jeans. Feeling strange, I decided to weight myself and I discovered that I gained about 8 kg and when I examined my reflection in the mirror, I noticed that I now have love handles and slightly bulging tummy. I was seriously taken aback and freaked out. Although I’m still considered underweight by any standard and I always wanted to put on a little bit more weight, but these are not healthy weight gain. All I gained was fat and not muscle. That’s when I realized that I got to stop being cruel to my own body and I decided to lead a healthier lifestyle. I started to workout and watch what I eat.

image

Speaking of watching what I eat, I’m quite taken to snacking on healthy, energy-booster snacks these days, especially after my cardio workouts. My snack of choice are usually California Raisins, which are known to be a healthy snack for both adults and children alike.

image

Dried in the warm California sunshine, the little dried fruits has many benefits that helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle compared with other snack foods, as they are naturally sweet and do not contain any added sugar.

image

California Raisins are also a very versatile ingredient and can inspire a wide repertoire of dishes-from appetisers and main dishes to desserts and beverages especially as consumers are becoming more health conscious and more adventurous in their culinary endeavours.

image

A plus point? The package of California Raisins fits pertectly in a purse or briefcase. They also conveniently fit in lunch boxes, gym bags, and in your desk drawer. Apart from that, California Raisins are also economical, do not bruise and are easy to use straight out of the box- no washing, peeling or chopping required-so one can create a simple meal to help you sustain your energy throughout the day.

image

Anyway, not long ago, I was invited to participate in the California Raisins Raya Rasa Sayang cooking competition, whereby the main ingredients includes the highly nutritious California Raisins. The event aimed at bringing out the sweet loving moods through culinary delights in celebrating the Raya festive season. During the event, we were told that California Raisins can be nutritious and versatile to be incorporated as a key ingredient to make a tasty dish for friends and family during Raya or for any occasion. According to RAC’s Trade Promotions Director for Southeast Asia, Mr Richard Lieu, California Raisins are a healthy snack, compared with other snack foods, as they are naturally sweet and do not contain any added sugar California Raisins are also a very versatile ingredient and can inspire a wide repertoire of dishes-from appetisers and main dishes to desserts and beverages -especially as consumers are becoming more health-conscious and more adventurous in their culinary endeavours. More than just being an appetising delight, Califomia Raisins are also a source of nutrition which are suitable to incorporate into meals amidst rising concerns for health issues, such as diabetes.

image

Here’s yours truly and her teammates. We picked the theme “Love” and our team name was Sarong Ikat Tepi. Apart from preparing delicious dish with raisins, we also wished to showcased the beauty of Malaysian traditional fabric, the batik sarong.

image

The 1 hour competition kicked off with kitchen safety briefing.

image

Here’s giving you a glimpse of the busy kitchen during the competition.

image

My team decided to prepare an energy-booster raisin cookies.

image

I was in charge charge of making the black raisin sauce for the cookies.

image

Our final product; the Lebaran Love Raisin Cookies

image

Here’s a closer look at our final product.

image

Judging time. We explained that the ingredients for the cookies were pretty simple; flour, butter, raisins, oats and chocolate chips. There were no sugar added and the cookies makes a great quick energy booster once consumed.

image

Here are other team’s creations,
using California Raisins which reflected the attributes of Raya namely Love, Forgiveness, Honour, Gratitude, Blessing, Togethemess, Kindness and Respect.

image

While waiting for the panel of judges to decide on the winners for the California Raisins Raya Rasa Sayang cooking competition, the famous Chef lli Sulaiman treated us to the demo of two scrumptious creations using California Raisins-“California Raisins Chicken Biryani” and “Homemade California Raisins Masala Spice Sausage Rolls.

image

Chef Ili Sulaiman explained that these dishes are popular with Malaysians as their favours are appetizing and easily titililate the palates to serve at Raya gatherings as well as for family meals. Both Califonia Raisins Chicken Biryani and Homemade California Raisins Masala Spice Sausage Rolls can be prepared ahead of time using versatile and nutritional ingredients.

image

Anyway, my team did not win. Here’s the winners for the competition this year.

image

My teammates and I may not win the competition, but I’m glad that I participated nevertheless. The experience was priceless and I learned that California Raisins are not just great for post-workout snacks, but an ideal ingredient to prepare quick, energy-boosting and nutritious meals for any time of the day.

Tips for Planning a Romantic Getaway

Is there a special person you’d like to surprise with a romantic getaway? Making plans for such a holiday can be quite an adventure; however, there may be times when you wonder whether you’ve covered all the bases or have omitted an important detail. A good way to plan a romantic holiday is with the help of the internet, but you could spend hours, even days working your way through all the information. Here are just a few tips that are all you need to
make your romantic getaway a memorable one.

  •  Pick the Right Accommodation

Choosing the right kind of accommodation is what will make your getaway a romantic one. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, if the accommodation isn’t right, it’s going to spoil all your plans. There’s plenty to choose from when it comes to places to stay, but what would you rather? A hotel filled with unruly guests and hordes of children or the choice of one of the many villas in Spain where you can relax, unwind and enjoy each other’s company without any interruptions.

  •  It Won’t be Like the Movies

We’ve all watched a Hollywood movie in which the stars enjoy a romantic getaway in a 5- star suite with a bottle of champagne on ice. This really isn’t reality at all, and you need to
realise that rather than getting caught up in trying to recreate such a fantasy. A romantic escape should be something you and your partner will enjoy. Book something that matches both your interests, tastes, and budget.

There are things you can do to make your getaway special. For example, if you’re staying in a hotel, it may be possible to pre-arrange gifts or other personal items to be placed in the
room before you arrive. It might be a song that has a special meaning, a sentimental item such as a photo of you together enjoying your first rollercoaster ride. Whatever gift you choose, personalisation is the key.

Another idea if you want romantic bliss is to fully embrace the culture of the country you’ve decided to visit. If you’re staying in a villa, this is going to be easy because you’re staying in
amongst local people who are going about their daily lives undisturbed. Enjoy walking in the streets during an evening and sipping wine in a local bar. Partake of the local cuisine and don’t be afraid to try new things.

  • If Something Goes Wrong Deal with It and Move On

Even if you plan your romantic getaway down to the last detail, there’s still a huge chance that something is going to go wrong. It’s likely to be something very minor, but if you let it, the problem will spiral out of control and end up ruining your time away. Even if it’s
something major, such as a hotel that looks nothing like the website photos, you have to deal with it and move on. Don’t let anything spoil your romantic escape and hopefully, this will be something you can both agree on.

One last tip is for you both to ditch your phones. Try unplugging from the world and focus on each other for a few days.

River Dining at BBQ Lamb Kemensah, Kuala Lumpur

My workload causes me nothing but stress these days and I was in a desperate need to get away from KL a little bit. But as usual, going for a couple of days getaway is impossible for me right at the moment due to huge work commitment. But then again, I needed to de-stress desperately nevertheless.

image

So, instead of going somewhere far, I decided to go somewhere near for a little breather instead. So this is how I ended up taking a little ‘back to nature’ foodie trip with my family at BBQ Lamb Kemensah, KL. The place is practically just a couple of backyard away from my home. Located just nearby Zoo Negara, this restaurant and is famous for their river dining.

image

Yups, you did not read that wrongly. Dining in the river; as in soaking your feet in the river and enjoying your food as the gentle water soothe all your stress away.

image

I was really excited. Upon arrival, the staff handed us this huge straw hat for us to use. We took the chance to take some family photos before exploring the place further.

image

Here’s yours truly and her sister-in-law.

I have heard quite a lot about this restaurant via social media, and I must say that I am quite impressed with the place. Apart from river dining where diners can choose to dine in the river, you may also choose to dine by the poolside. Now, I’m all for dining in the river, but if you have babies or toddlers with you, I certainly recommend you to dine by the poolside as it is safer for the little ones and it’s easier to monitor them as you eat.

This is actually a swimming pool. I arrived quite late in the evening and it was getting quite dark during my visit and so, instead of taking a swim, I decided to just dip my feet into the pool. Please excuse the slippers though. I know you’re not supposed to wear slippers into the pool, but I amidst my excitements, I completely forgot to take them off. Thank God they are completely clean as I washed them thoroughly after coming up from the river.

Nightfall at BBQ Lamb Kemensah conjure a really serene and romantic scene. Perfect for candle-light dining and a quiet date with your other half.

BBQ Lamb Kemensah offers plenty of stuff on their menu. Most of them are no-nonsense BBQ and grilled items. Being a first timer there, I asked for some recommendation. I was tempted to try their fish and seafood, but their meat platter came highly recommended and have been quite a rave on social media and we decided to just settle on their new Ramadan Mix Meat platter set, seeing that it comes with all sorts of meat that we can sink our teeth on. This set will be available throughout the month of Ramadan for dinner.

The Ramadan Mix Meat platter set (RM188.00) consists of Tenderloin Beef, Smokey Duck slices, BBQ Lamb and BBQ Chicken and comes with four plates of fragrant herb rice, a plate of coleslaw salad, a bowl of Sup Kambing,  four bowls of refreshing desserts, a small plate of dates and a jar of Iced Lemon Tea.

Comes with refillable ice lemon tea, refreshing dessert and dates

The dates included in this set is the plump and moist type. All things considered, this is definitely a great starter to break your fast with to sooth your hungry tummy after fasting for the whole day.

Sup Kambing. I wasn’t particularly interested in this soup when I first saw it. I’m more familar with the clear type of mutton soup; the one you usually find in local mamak restaurants, but once I had a sip of this, I was practically begging for more. It was not the usual spicy kind of mutton soup, but flavourful nevertheless. It leans more to the creamy and rich side of texture and very comforting on the tummy.

Fragrant Herb Rice. The rice is absolutely delicious. It was really fragrant and complement the assortments of BBQ-ed meat very well. Rice lovers will love this. No worries about the calory intakes, guys. This rice dish was made with the long-grained type, and so they’re the healthy kind of carbs.

Coleslaw was fresh and crisps with slightly sweet mayo dressings.

Mix meat platter for 4 pax. Don’t be fooled by the picture. To be honest, I think the portion is really huge. Perfect for sharing and if you are small eater, I think this set can cater up to six person.

Tenderloin Beef, Smokey Duck slices, BBQ Lamb and BBQ Chicken. Now, everyone have their own taste when it comes to how they like their meat done. I like my beef well done instead of medium rare, so what they served was perfect for me, but if you like your meat a tad bloody, you may request that upon ordering. The Smokey Duck was sensational and definitely a not to be missed item over here. I am not really a fan of lamb as they made me feel heaty after consuming them, but I had a taste of this nevertheless. It’s really nice and have no unpleasant gamey smell whatsoever. Great for those who prefers their lamb without the pungeant smell. Last but not least, the BBQ chicken. I wish I could comment on that but I didn’t manage to eat that as was too busy attacking the tenderloin. My son loves the BBQ chicken though, and seeing how picky eater he is, I guess I can safely say that the BBQ chicken was pleasant on the palate as well. The platter came with 4 types of sauces; mint sauce, mayo garlic sauce, black pepper sauce and soy chilli sauce, but the meat already taste great on their own and I did not want the sauce to overwhelm the original flavour of the meat, so I did not dip any of my neat slices in them. Apart from this mix meat platter, they are also offering fish, seafood, bird and vegetarian set for Ramadan. You may check out the menu and the pricing at their Facebook page HERE.

Overall, dining at Kemensah Lamb BBQ is a great experience. The ambiance is really soothing and relaxing. I find that dining here is thereupeutic on it’s own. Instead of just feeling full and satiated, I feel completely refreshed and energetic as well by the end of the meal. I guess a revisit is in order soon. I highly recommend this place, especially for those who are adventurous in nature.

Here’s some tips to foodies who intend to dine here in the nearest future:

1. BBQ Lamb Kemensah is always swamped with diners, so early booking is recommended, especially if you want to dine in the river.
2. Bring a change of clothes if you plan to dine in the river or plan to swim in the pool
3. While this is a family and kids friendly restaurant, you must remember that your children are your own responsibility, so keep an eye on them at all times while dining in the river to ensure their safety. Please don’t let them run around or leave them unsupervised.
4. Bring a waterproof casing for your smartphones so that they won’t get wet should you drop them into the river.
5. The swimming pool is not a kiddy pool and is deep, so I wouldn’t recommend children under the age of 8 in the pool. But if you do decide to let your little kids swim in it, please make sure to watch them at all times and grab the complimentary tubes for them to use to ensure their safety.
