Editor’s Pick: Must Try Noodles and Laksa at Medan Selera SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting

If there’s one thing about me that you need to know is that I appreciate food very much. And if I found a place that serves really good food with affordable price, I will always revisit the place over and over again to enjoy what they have to offer. One of my 2018’s greatest foodie discovery is the newly opened Medan Selera at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. Serving all sorts of Muslim-friendly Malaysian favourite delicacies, this food court is fast becoming my favourite lurk whenever I’m up in Genting.

image

It’s my fourth visit as of writing since it’s opening; both as an invited reviewer and paying customer, and this time around, instead of having their sensational selection of Nasi Kandar, I thought I’d check what their noodle and laksa have to offer. Their noodles and laksa menu is quite impressive, to say the least.

image

Yours truly, indulging in laksa and noodles from the Medan Selera SkyAvenue.

image

Curry Laksa. Those who can’t live without their curries, might want to give the Curry Laksa a go. The curry is not overly spicy and is richly flavoured, so even if you are not a huge fan of spicy dishes, you will be able to enjoy this.

image

Laksam is a variety of Laksa noodle dish that originates from the East Coast. Commonly found in Kelantan, Laksam’s soup is savoury but much creamier and rich in comparison to it’s Penang/Kedah counterpart. Fans of Laksam, rejoice. You no longer have to travel all the way to the East Coast to enjoy this as Laksam is offered permanently on Medan Selera’s menu.

image

Laksa Penang. Served with spicy and sourish fish based broth, this dish is a favourite of many. If you’re into such flavours, you’ll like this Laksa.

image

Mee Rojak is a street delicacy commonly found in Northern states of Malaysia like Penang, Kedah and Perlis. Each states have their own representation of Mee Rojak. Not sure the one served in Medan Selera originates from which state, though. The sauce is rather creamy and sweet in comparison to the savoury and spicy ones that I’m familar with. Nevertheless, the Mee Rojak is still uniquely delicious.

image

Pasembor. Pasembor is typically a Malaysian style salad consisting of cucumber, potatoes, beancurd, turnip, bean sprouts, prawn fritters, spicy fried crab, fried octopus or other seafoods and served with a sweet and spicy nut sauce. The one in Medan Selera leans more to the sweet side and is heavenly on the palate.

image

Mee Goreng Indonesia. Served with a side of fish keropok, the Mee Goreng Indonesia is simply irresitible.

image

Bihun Goreng Singapore. For those who are looking for simpler and fuss free dishes might want to opt for this Bihun Goreng Singapore. It’s deliciously simple and not heavy on the tummy. Children especially will find this appealing, I believe.

image

Fried Koay Teow is served with a healthy amount of shrimps, and definitely something you’d want to indulge in if you are a fan of the well-known all time favourite Malaysian street food.

image

Bakso. Bakso is basically a type of Indonesian beef meatball noodle served in flavourful soup. If you are into meatballs and soup, this will be your best bet.

Medan Selera offers all sorts of delicious food that will satisfy even the fussiest foodie. For more delicious things to eat at Medan Selera SkyAvenue apart from noodles and laksa, check out HERE

It is located on Level G of SkyAvenue mall, below the newly-opened Bona Cinema. Operating hours are 8.00am to 10.00pm daily, with seating capacity for 270.

20th Century Fox World Studio Store Opens in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting

My husband and I happened to be one of the selected few who were invited to witness the opening of 20th Century Fox World Studio Store in Resorts World Genting. It is the first of it’s kind in the world. And of course, we were getting really excited about it, considering our movie dates pretty much involved a lot of 20th Century Fox World Studio’s productions. From Ice Age to Rio, Alien vs.Predator, Night in The Museum, you name it. We’ve watched it during our movies night out. And so, we decided to do the craziest thing on the eve of the opening, considering it was exactly 1 month before our 16th wedding anniversary; camp in front of the store alongside with other influencers.

image

This is us, in front of the 20th Century Fox World Studio Store on the eve of it’s opening. Now, we’ve done plenty of camping out together by now. But all of it are mostly in the jungle, during our eco-escapade. We usually had to deal with mosquito bites, leeches sucking, snakes hissing somewhere, but this is the first camping experience where we don’t even have to deal with any discomfort at all. We didn’t even need to endure a 2 hour hike just to reach a camping ground. It is 100% fun, and almost like a sleepover party.

image

There are plenty of overnight campers who were there that night.

image

Also camping with us; Kak Hanny of Diarymama.com

image

Happy campers here.

image

Don’t worry people. No 18++ things for you to see. Our PDA are still safe for minor. We are already husband and wife and we are just sleeping together, all good and innocent.

image

Sleep was difficult that night. There’s too much excitements abuzz and we ended up chatting, taking selfies and wefies and whatnot, but, as the night fall, we did managed to get some shuteye.

image

Sorry people, no morning after pics. I look like crap first thing in the morning. So here’s one after shower and breakfast. We’re were all excited as we were counting minutes to the opening of 20th Century Fox World Studio

image

There were Samba Parade prior to the opening. I actually joined the Samba parade and danced along with the dancers during the 20th Century Fox World Studio Store opening. Sadly, there was no picture of me dancing as my friends were busy dancing along as well to take a picture.

image

Meet and greet with characters from Rio.

image

Enjoying ice cream served at the event just before the official opening.

image

Launching gimmick by the VIPs. And, finally, the time that we were waiting for. 20th Century Fox World Studio Store in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting has finally opened it’s door after all the anticipations.

image

The crowd was crazy and everyone were eye-ing for something.

image

There are plenty of cool, limited edition merchandises sold here.

image

Among the coveted items

image

Spotted this cool shirt and decided to bring it home.

image

Happy faces after our satisfying shopping spree at the newly opened store.

If you are a fan of 20th Century Fox World Studio’s movies, you might want to drop by. There are plenty of merchandises that will probably make you drool.

20th Century Fox World Studio Store is located at Level 2 of SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

#WakeUpMalaysia Forum to Celebrate Diversity and Unite Malaysians

Would you believe me if I told you that I always bring my country’s flag,  the Jalur Gemilang wherever I go in my daily backpack? Yes I do, and whenever I travel, I’d take a photo of myself with the flag at any landmarks that I think is interesting or beautiful, and share it on the social media. This is my way of telling the world that I love my country and I bring the spirit of my country everywhere I go with me.

image

This picture for example, was taken during my media trip to Resorts World Kijal quite some time ago.
