Samsung Galaxy S9 Launches in Malaysia

image

The much anticipated Galaxy S9 and S9+ are finally here in Malaysia. With the arrival of its latest flagships, Samsung continues to innovate and redefine the limitations of technology, giving Malaysians new ways to experience the world.

image

The flagships are well-recognised globally, having received over 30 awards at the recent Mobile World Congress 2018 including “Best New Connected Device” and “Best Mobile VR or AR”.

image

The S9 and S9+ were inspired by today’s way of communicating on the social media landscape.

image

Self-expression has evolved, and gone are the days where consumers texted each other to convey their thoughts. Instead, they now use images, videos and emojis. Samsung has always been at the forefront in producing amazing smartphone cameras, but as a tech company known to push past boundaries and also with a deep commitment to listen to our consumers, we took our latest smartphones to another level by redesigning and upgrading the camera.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ now come with new AR Emoji, Super Slow-mo and Super Low-light features. These enable consumers to discover and re-imagine a whole new level of visual communication, tailored to their own unique voices. To those who believe that a picture paints a thousand words, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is the way to go.

image

Camera Reimagined
Today’s cameras are for more than taking pictures – they are for connecting and communicating. Consumers want a smartphone camera with state-of-the-art technology, so they can express themselves with high-quality images and tools to tell their own unique story. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ cameras are built with these consumers in mind, with a Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor with dedicated processing power and memory to take amazing superior quality shots. DxOMark, the trusted industry standard for camera and lens image quality measurements, recognises this and given Samsung’s reimagined camera its highest-ever score for combined photo and video rating in a smartphone camera.

Much credit for the S9 and S9+’s high scores should be attributed to their amazing performance under low-light conditions. Similar to the way the iris of a human eye expands and contracts depending on a person’s surroundings, Samsung’s Dual Aperture camera (F1.5 / F2.4) automatically adjusts to its lighting conditions by letting in more light when it is dark through its greater aperture lens (F1.5) or switching to its lower aperture lens (F2.4) under bright light, ensuring that photos taken are crisp and clear. Apart from that, the popular dual-camera setup is available via the Galaxy S9+ as well, allowing users to continue shooting professional portrait shots with the phone’s ‘Live Focus’ mode.

Users are also now able to express themselves in brand-new ways, thanks to the S9 and S9+’s AR Emoji and Super Slow-mo features. While Samsung allows users to create an emoji that looks and acts almost exactly like them, the Super Slow-mo function (video recording of up to 960 frames per second) allows users to expand their creativity with utmost fun. Furthermore, S9 and S9+ users can now experience the world in a whole new way thanks to a smarter Bixby, integrated into the camera. Bixby is now able to translate foreign languages and currencies instantly by image, provide useful information about your surroundings, and so much more.

Enhanced Entertainment
Smartphones are increasingly becoming our go-to choice for entertainment, which is why Samsung created a device that offers premium sound experiences with stereo speakers tuned by AKG. The Galaxy S9 and S9+’s audio also support Dolby Atmos, giving the effect of a 360-degree, impressive cinematic sound.

The Infinity Display on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were given an upgrade as well. Featuring a new, bold, and bright Super AMOLED Infinity Display that looks gorgeous even under direct sunlight, it has received an “Excellent A+” grade by DisplayMate Technologies, the world’s leading evaluator of screens.

A Device that Fits with the Connected Lifestyle

As the first smartphone to support the new SmartThings app, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the central hub to manage every facet of the connected lifestyle at home, at the office, or on the go. The next-generation Samsung DeX empowers a mobile lifestyle by bringing a large, full-screen experience to the mobile handset. The redesigned DeX Pad is a new docking system for users to easily connect the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse to expand the mobile experience with enhanced document editing or even full-screen gaming. Users can also transform the Galaxy S9 and S9+ into a Touch Pad with the DeX Pad.

The Best Comes Standard with the Galaxy Foundation

Samsung sets the gold standard for smartphones with IP68 water and dust resistance and wireless charging that goes a step beyond with the Galaxy S9 and S9+. The devices now support expandable memory of up to 400GB via a Micro SD Card and are equipped with the latest premium application processors, offering powerful performance and sophisticated image processing.

In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ give users the peace of mind knowing that their phone is protected by Knox 3.1, Samsung’s latest defense-grade security platform. The Galaxy S9 and S9+’s Intelligent Scan feature supports three different biometric authentication options – iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition – so users can choose the way they want to protect their device and applications.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ take health to the next level with an improved optical sensor built directly into the device, providing richer and more accurate information on users’ health status. This sensor allows the devices to keep track of users’ Heart Load Factor, a new measurement of the real-time demand placed on the heart.

Health in A Cuppa Tea: CAROMA Bentong Ginger Tea

I’m a huge fan of tea. My blog’s name, Over A Cuppa Tea says it all. Similar to other caffeinated drinks, drinking tea helps me to keep my head clear and alert. As a writer, I need to stay inspired and full of ideas at all times and tea helps me do just that. There are varieties of teas in my kitchen cabinet at home. My favourite kind of teas are iced tea and they are mostly flavoured fruit teas like Peach Tea, Apple Teas, Strawberry Teas and many more. I can never work without having a glass of iced tea on my table. They’re like drugs and they keep me feeling refreshed, even during those long working days.

Anyway, speaking of long working days, I recently took on a project and the commitments involved in making this project works is somewhat taking a toll on my body. I can practically feel the stress in my bones and it is having bad effects on my body. I’ve been suffering from nasty headaches that leads to migraine. If that is not bad enough, I suffer from tummy bloatedness and insomnia as well.

I’ve been to the doctor’s office to get some help, of course, but nothing prescribed by the doctor actually works and in the end they conclude that these are merely stress-related symtoms and all I need to do is just take it easy. Well, taking easy is not quite my style, and I remember my late grandmother used to suffer the same thing as I did as well when she was still alive and she would come up with all sort of home remedies to fix what’s ailing her and our family. Among her famous home remedy is the Ginger Root Tea with Honey. Whenever she feels off, she would brew some ginger root tea and pair it with a spoonful of raw honey or a slice of lemon.

image

Now, I’m pretty much useless in the kitchen to prepare such a home remedy, but thank God I’m living in an era where I can just buy such things and here’s sharing with you an awesome tea that has healing properties and works magic on bodily discomforts; CAROMA Bentong Ginger Tea.

image

CAROMA infuses Bentong ginger with fragrant tea to give you a boost of natural goodness with a spicy ginger flavour.

image

image

The CAROMA Bentong Ginger Tea is pretty much easy to prepare. It is the instant type and all you need to do is just pour the contents of the satchet into 150ml of hot water and you’re done. But persobally, I prefer more diluted due to the strong pungent smell, so I add more water. It is up to you on how to prepare it, really. You may add a slice of lemon or a spoonful of honey too if that tickles you fancy.

Top Wedding Planner in Putrajaya: Ambassador Putrajaya by Hanana Group Sdn. Bhd.

What’s the standard age to get married for ladies these days? I’m not sure what’s the standard age for a lady to enter holy matrimony, but I got married at a pretty young age. I was just 18 when I married my college senior, now husband. We’re pretty much in love with each other and blessed with a son who is now already in his teens. 18 is quite young to be married and to be parents by the modern society’s standard. It would be an outright lie if I were to tell you that we had blessings from everyone. We honestly didn’t. We actually eloped. The solemnization was just between us and close friends. When my husband and I took our vows, we did not don any bridal attire nor there was a grand reception to celebrate afterwards. We didn’t care much for frilly things. What matters was that our union was legal in the eye of law and God.

People around us told us to our face that we are making a huge mistake and simply ruining our lives by tying ourselves down so early in life, but personally speaking, we did what was right for us and considering the situation, things turned out great and I kinda like being in my early 30s with a teenage son who in tow; whom is always mistaken as my kid brother instead of my son. Unlike most of the friends my age who just got married and stuck with all the headache of raising a baby, I’m already at the advance stage where I’m enjoying my life to the fullest where I actually do enjoyable things with my son like traveling and stuff instead of having to do things for him.

To date, my husband and I have been married for 15 years, going on 16 years. My only wistfulness is that we don’t actually have a beautiful wedding picture taken together. It’s not that we don’t have many beautiful pictures together…it’s just that we don’t have one in wedding attires and I guess I’m just being a woman deep down by feeling that way.

Anyway, let’s put my wistfulness aside. I don’t know when I’ll be able to take a beautiful wedding picture with my husband. We’ve talked about it but never really got around to do it. Maybe one day, we will. I don’t know. Whatever will be, will be. What matters is that we’re still happily in love with each other.

Weddings are generally a stressful affair for both bride and grooms. It is not just about the bride and groom but about pleasing the entire family and perhaps some 600 other people whom you barely knows; because let’s face it, the parents of the bride and grooms will be inviting their friends and entire clans to the wedding too. This is the ugly facts about weddings. My husband and I may have eloped and skipped all these headache, but I know for certain that this is something that most couples will choose to endure.

But don’t worry, people. We are not living in the dark ages. There are plenty wedding planners around. Here’s one place that’s offering a one stop wedding solution for newlyweds; Ambassador Putrajaya.

5 Top Tips for Planning Your Perfect Destination Wedding

image

Planning a destination wedding means enjoying a two-for-one wedding and honeymoon in a beautiful location of your choice. Once you’ve picked out your ideal overseas wedding location, it’s time to sit down and start figuring out how to plan your big day thousands of miles away from home. But, before you book your tickets and jet off to an exotic island or period castle to marry your love, it’s important to keep a few factors in mind to ensure that the celebrations run smoothly for both the happy couple and their guests. Here are some top tips to consider when planning your perfect destination wedding.

Tip #1. Choose Your Location Wisely

Choosing a destination wedding location is all about the chance to get married in a place that you love, however, it’s important to consider the logistics, too. For example, a cute seaside town that you both loved spending time at as children may not be the best location for your wedding if there’s not enough accommodation for guests, although the location holds sentimental value for you. It’s a good idea to consider the cost of getting to the location for your guests, too – opt for destinations with reasonably priced flights, and try to put your guests all in one reasonably affordable hotel. Villas are also available for a wedding in Mykonos.

Tip #2. Hire a Planner:

Planning your own wedding at home can seem like an impossible task, so when it comes to putting together your perfect wedding day abroad, it’s usually a wise idea to invest in a professional wedding planner who specialises in destination weddings. This way, you won’t need to worry about navigating potential language barriers or being unable to check your venues out before you book them – you’ll have an experienced expert on hand to take care of everything for you and ensure you have the wedding of your dreams. If a planner isn’t covered by your budget, some resorts offer wedding packages to help you put together the big day of your dreams.

Tip #3. Visit in Advance:

Another great thing about having a destination wedding is that you can use it as a great excuse to take a vacation together. Ideally, you would see your venue once before making the booking, and again a few months before the wedding to go over all the details and finalise them. Before booking a venue for your wedding in Mykonos, it’s a good idea to see them in person – photographs and descriptions on the internet can be deceiving, so it’s worth visiting the venue to make sure that it’s the type of place that you’d like to tie the knot at. If a second trip after booking isn’t possible, try to arrive at the destination around five or six days prior to your wedding date to take care of details.

Tip #4. Tailor Your Wedding Outfits:

Destination weddings tend to be a lot more chilled and relaxed than traditional ceremonies, particularly those that take part on the beach. If you’re planning to get married in a hot climate, then you might want to relax the dress code for your big day a little bit. This is especially important for the bride, who’ll need to make sure that her wedding dress is tailored to fit the climate. Opt for lightweight and breathable fabrics.

Tip #5. Notify Guests Well in Advance:

Asking your guests to save the date for a destination wedding will involve a lot more work for them than a wedding at home. You’ll need to make sure that your guests have enough time to ensure that they can afford to come along, book their flights and accommodation, and take time off from their job if necessary to attend your wedding. This why most destination weddings involve a close-knit gathering of family and close friends. Whoever you’re planning to invite, make sure that you let them know as far in advance as possible. Destination weddings can be beautiful and memorable for everybody involved. But, planning a wedding in a foreign country can be stressful. Hopefully, these top tips have helped you get started with putting together the plan for your big day.

Fancy Makeover at 3ina SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting

What’s the most important aspect that’s the most important to you when it comes to personal grooming? I’m not sure what is the most important to you when it comes to personal grooming, but to me, it is important to have your own distinctive style and look beautiful from top to toe when you are out and about socializing, if not 24/7.

I believe that you’ll never know who you’ll meet whenever you go out every day and there’s no second chance in making a good first impresssion. As a mother and a professional who is already well into her 30s, I make it a point to look as pleasant as possible. My style; always the subtle and professional look.

When it comes to clothings, I always go for those that are always in style. Hairstyle? Not too fancy. And makeup? Well, makeup must always be long lasting and non staining. Problems? Yes. Most makeups that I got from the drugstores are not always long lasting and they pretty much stain easily.

Getting advices from beauty blogger friends around, I was introduced to a couple of trustworthy makeup brands that are not only affordable, but long lasting and doesn’t stain as well. One of them is 3ina.

image

3ina, pronounced as “Mina” is the brainchild of retail gurus and entrepreneurs Pablo Rivera and Mark Eve. This new makeup brand is planning a rapid expansion worldwide, and the latest being the one in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. If you haven’t heard of this cosmetic brand yet, I have no doubt that you will soon be very familar with it.

image

Offering professional grade European-made cosmetics at an accessible price tag, this brand is set to be a big contended on the makeup scene.

image

So what do you think? I kinda like how striking the colours are and the makeup makes me look as if I was still in my teenage years. Not my usual daily makeup look, but certainly the kind of look I would want to wear during events and special occasions.

Resting it Up at Healing Touch, Resorts World Genting

My feet was practically killing me after hours and hours of having fun exploring Ripley’s Adventureland in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. So, I decided that it is time to give my feet a break at The Healing Touch.

image

Located at the same level with the 3 attractions that I visited earlier, Healing Touch offers all sorts of massaging treatments.

image

Some of the treatments offered here in Healing Touch.

image

The interior decoration of this place is kept to bare minimum with dim lighting and I find the place is really good for relaxing.

image

Private treatment areas

image

One could easily fall asleep over here at Healing Touch.

image

Lockers provided for your convenience

image

Fish spa service is available here at Healing Touch Spa. This is a very interesting service as all you need to do is dip your feet into the pool that’s full of the little fishes and these hungry fishes will eat up all of the dead cells on your skin. They say it is not painful, but rather ticklish.

image

Initially I wanted to go for the fish spa but I ended up going for the foot therapy session and I was informed that my reflexologist will work on my feet up to my knee. I was given a change of pants since I was wearing jeggings and my session kicks off with a warm water foot soak and a little foot steam bath. Being a first timer for massages as this one, I had no idea why I couldn’t just straight go for the massaging treatment, but they informed me that the warm water soak and the foot steam bath that I had earlier will prepare my feet for the oil massage that comes next.

image

The feet therapy involved application of pressure to the feet and up to my knees and all my feet’s acupoints that is supposed to be somewhat interconnects with my internal organs.

image

Going through the massaging session was abit of a challenge to me as I’m very ticklish on my left feet. I ended up laughing and giggling at first but luckily my reflexologist got the drift and adjusted her massaging pressure accordingly and I eventually managed to relax enough to fall asleep during the session.

Overall the experience was really good and I could practically feel the blood rushing through my veins after the massage and my feet are not as stiff as it was before I had the treatment done. Highly recommended, especially those who haven’t had a R&R in a very long time.

Below is the pricing for some of the basic treatments offered here:

Aroma foot relaxing treatment (30 mins) RM 88.00

Foot reflexology (40 mins) RM 98.00

Foot reflexology (90 mins) RM 158.00

Oriental foot & shoulder massage (60 mins) RM128

1. Visit Alive Museum and be a part of the paintings

Alive Museum is some sort of 3D trick art gallery where the museum is filled with beautiful paintings. Painted by South Korean artists, every paintings are unique in the sense where you can play a part and be one with the paintings and art. The paintings will serve as a backdrop so pose away and see how beautiful or funny your pictures turns out.

One of the spotlight in the museum

image

Another one of those not to be missed piece of artwork that will literally make you look stronger in pictures.

image

Take a picture with famous landmarks is a must when you are at the museum.

Visiting the museum in a group is much more fun as you can not only take turn taking pictures of each other, but you can also come up with more memorable poses to take pictures with.

Huge fan of Walking Dead? Feeling adventurous? A seeker of all things thrilling and mysterious? Bored stiff with your life and needs some Adrenaline pumped into your veins? Well then, head over to Zombies Outbreak and survive all things scary in there.

image

Once you walked into the Zombies Outbreak area, you’ll find yourselves being chased not only by the freaky undeads, but you’ll be hurled into the ghostly realms too where you will be haunted by all sorts of spirits and ghost.

image

The Zombies Outbreak is completely safe but it is not for the faint hearted and I wouldn’t recommended you to visit this place if you have heart problems as ‘zombies’ and ghosts will scare you to the bone and startle you.

image

Bring your little children in at your own discretion. I would recommend this to those who are 12 years old and above due to the creepy nature of the place.

Zombie Outbreak Opening Hours:

10am –10pm daily
10am–11pm on weekends

3. Travel back in time and learn all about dinosaurs at Jurrasic Research Centre.

image

Curious about dinosaurs? Head over to Jurrasic Research centres and walk through the passage of time and travel back to the pre-historic era to where dinosaurs are still roaming the Earth.

image

Jurrasic Research Centre features plenty of interactive fun where you’ll be able to get up close and personal with dinosaurs in their re-imagined natural habitat.

image

The scenes are mostly realistic where dinosaurs are not only moving and roaring, but you will be able to see the predatory dinosaurs ripping off the hearts of their preys as well. But no worries, it’s pretty much a primary school standard kind of scenes and there’s nothing overly gory over here.

image

The archeologists in you will also be pleased to discover that there are also labatories that exhibits the replicas of the good old dino’s fossils.

image

I have no doubt that even National Geograpic will approve the documentary contents offered at Jurrasic Research Centre in Resorts World Genting.

Nutox Renewal Treatment for A Youthful Look

We know that dullness is one of the most common skin concerns faced by Asian women. But, did you know that it’s also one of the first signs of ageing? When we age, symptoms like dullness, wrinkles and loss of elasticity start to show on our complexion, caused by the decrease in skin’s natural renewal abilities. As a result, it’s crucial to help our skin renew itself, gently yet effectively.

Ideally, our skin’s natural renewal cycle occurs every 28 days. Towards the end of the cycle, old or dead skin cells are sloughed off and replaced with new skin cells. What your skin needs are a few core products that continue to work seamlessly with all your skin’s phases throughout its renewal cycle, while helping to boost its ability to renew itself. Above all, the process should be gentle yet effective.
