The launch of “The New Evolution of Sungei Wang” was officiated by YB Dato’Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia together with Mr. Ng Yih Chen, Chairman of Sungei Wang Plaza Management Corporation and witnessed by many industry players.
The new evolution started off with the unveiling of the new Sungei Wang logo. The new brand new logo embodies the spirit of Sungei Wang’s legacy yet reflects the transformation of the mall to cater for contemporary tastes. Not only that, a series of legacy and contemporary icons marks the various achievements and new chapters of Sungei Wang in a fun and creative way.
Sungei Wang will also be undergoing a physical make-over at our entrances and front to provide a brighter warmer entrance welcoming customers to the mall.The renovation of the entrances will start off end of May and is in conjunction with the opening of the new Bukit Bintang MRT Station, situated just 500m away. This MRT Station is targeted to be operational in July and together with the current direct Sungei Wang Monorail Bridge, Sungei Wang will be one of the most accessible and connected mall via rail transport. Commuters from all corners of the Klang Valley will be able to reach Sungei Wang, traffic jam free for shopping and eating.
The launch of the New Evolution of Sungei Wang is also graced with live performance by lamNEETA; a renowned local celebrity.
The new evolution for Sungei Wang also includes enhancing connectivity with other malls. Currently Sungei Wang has a pedestrian bridge link with Lot 10 and lsetan that cuts above Jalan Sultan Ismail This bridge is widely used by shoppers and connects both whether rain or shine.The linkages with Bukit Bintang Plaza will be renewed upon completion of the new mall Currently, studies are being conducted to further improve the pedestrian connectivity of Sungei Wang with the surrounding malls.This initiative will be in line with Kuala Lumpur Tourism Master Plan to improve pedastrian facilities.
To keep up with current trends, Sungei Wang introduced several new concepts in the mall. One of the key concepts for New Sungei Wang is as a tourist centric and friendly mall. Sungei Wang aims to be the one-stop must visit shopping landmark in Bukit Bintang.
Culture Street@Sungei Wang was born September 2016 for this purpose.Together with its beautiful and exclusive entrance fronting Jalan Sultan Ismail, Culture Street@Sungei Wang showcases local authentic handicraft souvenirs, local titbits and food products and even their very own exclusive Tourist Customer Service Counter.This is a one-stop m visit place for tourists to get authentic local souvenirs,tit bits and products at a reasonable price, to try out local cuisine as well as join in some activities and workshops on local arts and craft.
