T Signature, Quill City Mall

I have a love hate relationship with Taiwanese drama. They are long winded and is a heck of an emotional roller coaster ride. But, I’m fine with Taiwanese delicacies. Another restaurant that I’ve had the privilege to try in Quill City Mall Kuala Lumpur is T Signature Taiwanese Fusion.

 photo IMG_20150316_112353_zpsqjgcz3vv.jpg

They serve all sort of Taiwanese favourites, including all time Taiwanese street food.

 photo IMG_20150316_113557_zpsrqopsami.jpg

Here is some of their bestsellers.

 photo IMG_20150324_104710_zpsvrs2jqwl.jpg

Black Fungus Cold Salad serves as a good appetizer if you like crispy but chewy food texture. I suppose this was somewhat marinated with vinegar as it tasted quite sourish.

 photo IMG_20150324_104344_zps3gvoh0dh.jpg

Japanese Cucumber Cold Dish. I prefer this crunchy and juicy cucumber sticks in comparison to the fungus earlier. A tad spicy and makes your mouth water for more.

 photo IMG_20150324_104520_zpsdetqcf8s.jpg

Taiwanese Pepper Salted chicken was a little too peppery and salty to my liking, but the chicken was adeptly fried and was still so juicy on the inside, unlike those I usually get in night markets, so I suppose this is still good if you like strongly flavoured food.

 photo IMG_20150324_104446_zpsy17awkdo.jpg

Crispy Chicken Chop, was surprisingly too bland for me in comparison to the earlier Taiwanese Pepper Salt Chicken. It somehow disappoint me as it really looks promising, but I suppose the lack of flavour can be remedied by dipping the chicken chop cutlets into chilli sauce or any sort of dippings you prefer.

 photo IMG_20150324_104620_zpsy0hl0dtx.jpg

Spicy Beef Noodle was perfectly executed and pretty much rich in flavour. Love the thick broth and the beef was juicy and tender too. Highly recommended.

 photo 0031_zpsgkseit1d.jpg

Basil Leaf Chicken (Three cups chicken) is surprisingly delicious and refreshing despite being ordinary looking. I bet I could take a few helpings of steamed white rice with this dish.

 photo 0022_zpsqywlabay.jpg

Sweet potato with plum powder is a perfect combination of sweet and sour and soft and crispy. This definitely make an interesting teatime snack, so do give it a try.

 photo 0025_zpsvf9swpfh.jpg

Curly curly (Rice cracker). If you like crispy snacks, then order these rice crackers. They are absolutely irresistible and addictive.

Check this out if you are a fan is Taiwanese food.

Purple Toast Kopitiam, Quill City Mall

If you’re into fusion food, you’ll probably like Purple Toast Kopitiam, Quill City Mall.

 photo IMG_20150316_114920_zpsqtyevn1g.jpg

Purple Toast Kopitiam have a cozy, laid back ambiance, and serves plenty of interesting fusion food. Most of it is East meet West dishes, and you’ll probably find the food is not only presented in pretty much unique way, but scrumptious as well.

 photo IMG_20150316_115237_zpsjlvdkbwx.jpg

These are some of the dishes I managed to sample the other day.

 photo IMG_20150316_115113_zpstxtebiy3.jpg

Chicken Grand Slam, RM9.50. It’s actually chicken cutlets cooked in savoury thick sauce and served on a basket of thick purple toast. Seeing the purplish thick toast would scare off some health conscious diners, but don’t worry, these toasts are made from purely natural ingredients and the colourings comes from plants. The serving may look small but it is good enough to satisfy a hungry tummy.

 photo IMG_20150316_115102_zps2hqgtom3.jpg

Lamb Stew, RM8.90. Like the Chickeen Grand Slam, lamb stew here is also served in a basket of thick purple toast. Personally, I prefer this lamb stew over the Chicken Grand Slam. The lamb was perfectly done and was bursting with flavour and complement the toast very well. There was no unpleasant lamb smell whatsoever. Highly recommended. This will satisfy even the fussiest eater.

 photo IMG_20150316_115146_zpsihipbsus.jpg

Grilled Chicken Chop, RM17.90 was rather ordinary, in my opinion. No fanciful innovation or surprises. The grilled chicken was paired with a bed of buttery and creamy mashed potatoes along with a handful of green salad on the side. It’s your classic grilled chicken chop. A safe bet if you are not the adventurous kind when it comes to food.

 photo IMG_20150316_115323_zps4twts6wx.jpg

Assam Laksa Spaghetti, RM13.90. Now, this is probably one item on the menu that is a must try if you like fusion food. A perfect portrayal of East meet West with a twist. This is actually spaghetti fried with Assam laksa paste. Not for the faint hearted or traditionalist. A weird but well paired combination. I was initially quite reluctant to try this, but I ended up liking it. Definitely wouldn’t mind having it again in the nearest future.

 photo IMG_20150316_115347_zpsel4di20v.jpg

Durian Popiah, RM5.00. Durian lovers would love these. It’s spring roll with sweet and pungent durian pulp filling. No comment on this as I don’t really like durian and did not eat this but it was polished off the in a jiffy by the rest at the table so I guess it is a dish worth trying at Purple Toast.

 photo IMG_20150316_115317_zpsfvnuqpvq.jpg

Cendol, RM4.90. Rich and creamy shaved ice served with red beans, green jellies and topped with palm sugar syrup and coconut milk. A definite cure for the hot weather. Cendols here are creamy and rich but not cloyingly sweet. Not a bad choice of dessert after all those heavy stuff.

Overall, Purple Toast Kopitiam is offering a variety of fusion food. The portion was satisfying and the price is quite reasonable too. You might want to hop over here for a quick and satisfying meal if you’re ever in Quill City Mall.

Gantetsu Tori Ramen

Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur is offering quite a gastronomic trail. Following my previous post, Flavours of Quill City Mall, here’s sharing with you what I had in the first restaurant in my previous write-up.

 photo IMG_20150316_104552_zpslxqf1pm3.jpg

Gantetsu Tori Ramen originates from Hokkaido, Japan. It is well known for it’s rich and naturally fresh ingredients.

 photo IMG_20150316_112155_zpswaidziwv.jpg

They have plenty of fabulous food items on their menu, but here’s what I got to try that day.

 photo IMG_20150316_110333_zpsxwi0vw8t.jpg

Special King Chicken Ramen, RM26.90. The chicken drumstick was served on the side, in case you are wondering where the chicken is. This was delicious, and the portion was big enough for two small eaters to share. The broth thick, rich and flavourful while the ramen is pretty much springy. Ramen lovers would definitely approve this.

 photo IMG_20150316_105717_zps3jwxajml.jpg

Special Chicken Gyoza, 3pcs, RM5.60. Some would say that this is a tad pricey but I assure you that it is worth every cent. The gyoza was perfectly done. Adeptly fried. Smooth, crisp on the outside and was bursting with flavours inside.

 photo IMG_20150316_105936_zpsiex9hdqn.jpg

Fried Chicken Karaage, 3pcs, RM9.90. A must try item on the menu. I couldn’t resist taking one piece after another. The fried chicken batter was not too thick and was well flavoured. The chicken was juicy on the inside and good to eat on it’s own.

 photo IMG_20150316_110702_zpselkb31fh.jpg

Hokkaido Potato Croquette, RM8.50. The croquette is all right. I didn’t think it was special in any way, but my son seems to love this very much. He polished this off from the plate and actually wanted to request for more.

 photo IMG_20150316_110352_zpsmflekggi.jpg

Chicken Teriyaki
. I’ve forgotten the price for this, but it’s worth your calories if you like strong flavoured food.

 photo IMG_20150316_110604_zpssx4tn367.jpg

One of the house special. Fried tofu RM8.90. It may look humble and ordinary but surprisingly this tofu was my favourite that day. It was soft Japanese tofu dipped in flour batter and deep fried before serving. The crispy and soft combination is positively addictive and I definitely wouldn’t mind a few servings of this.

Overall I am satisfied with what this restaurant have to offer. While it is slightly more on the pricey side in comparison to other Japanese cuisine outlet that I frequent, the restaurant does not disappoint and the food is great. The outlet is a tad small to accommodate large crowd, so I’d advice you to try avoid dining during peak hours.

The outlet is Pork-Free and still in the process of obtaining Halal certificate from JAKIM.

Yoshinoya & Hanamaru Udon Midvalley, Kuala Lumpur

Loves Japanese food? Udon in particular? Well, here’s recommending a new self service Japanese food outlet in Midvalley KL, Yoshinoya& Hanamaru Udon. Recently opened on 15th March 2015, the place serves quite promising Japanese delicacies. I did not manage to try what Yoshinoya had to offer during their media preview, as by the time I went to the counter, they informed me that they are already out of ingredients, but fortunately for me, I managed to try the Hanamaru Udons, which I have to say, quite pleasing on the palate.

 photo IMG_9381_zpsfedlo19v.jpg

Hanamaru was founded in 2001 in Takamatsu, the capital city of Kagawa Prefecture, where Japan’s famous home of Udon. They have 13 types of Udons available at this outlet. Price range from RM7 for a basic udon (zaru Udon, Kamaage Udon and Kake udon). They also have standard Udon (RM8 – Bukkake, Ontama Bukkake, Kamatama, Kitsune, Wakame),and chef’s specialty (Salad Udon, Curry Udon, and Beef Udon) and Chicken Soup Udon.

Here’s sharing with you what my husband, kid and I managed to try:

 photo IMG_9351_zpse8zfaovv.jpg

Kitune Udon, Curry Udon, Karaage,  Yasai Age, Ebi Tempura, Chawan Mushi

 photo IMG_9394_zpsm3uqrche.jpg

Spicy Miso Chicken Udon, Kakiage

 photo IMG_9386_zps0jjfoowq.jpg

I don’t usually fancy Japanese curries, to be honest. Being a typical Malaysian, I find Japanese curries lacks body, less fragrant and too sweet to my liking, but surprisingly I love the Curry Udon (RM10) here in Hanamaru. It is not only flavourful, but a tad spicy as well. Not very common for Japanese curries but I approves this somewhat improvised Japanese curry. So if you are like me and prefers spicy curries, do give this a go.

 photo IMG_9387_zpsloetm0ty.jpg

Spicy Miso Chicken Udon (RM12) was rich and flavourful. The miso soup was not overwhelming and complement the udons very well.

 photo IMG_9340_zpsduynvjlx.jpg

Kitsune Udon (RM8). Kitsune Udon is a delicious dish made with thick udon noodles served in a dashi based soup stock and served with a piece of fried tofu. Kitsune is named after the Japanese fox, who according to legend is a huge fan of abura-age, the deep fried tofu that gives all the flavour to this great food. My son had this and seeing him slurped it all up assured me that it met his approval and was pretty much to his liking.

 photo IMG_9385_zpseumhnt4c.jpg

Beef Udon (RM12) was perfectly done. The soup base was flavourful while the sliced beef was tender and juicy.

 photo IMG_9345_zpsaugyoxhw.jpg

Karaage (RM12), is the Japanese version of fried chicken. Karaage is usually marinated in soy sauce, ginger and garlic, and then the bite sized nuggets of chicken are dredged in potato starch and deep fried until crispy. The potato starch creates a golden shell around the karaage with a lasting crispness. You can usually find these in packed Benito lunch. This Karaage is one of those dishes that strikes the perfect balance between flavor, texture and richness. Ebi Tempura (RM20) on the other hand, was a just all right. It was a tad too greasy for me and the batter was too thick to my liking.

 photo IMG_9391_zpsqeealzme.jpg

Yasai Age (RM6) is actually flavoured deep fried silken tofu. This can be had on it’s own or you can add it as a side dish to your udons. Love this to bits and definitely wouldn’t mind seconds.

 photo IMG_9388_zpsym9al8bv.jpg

Sweet Potato Tempura(RM3) and Kakiage (RM3). The sweet potato is all right. Nothing to complain and nothing to shout about either, but the Kakiage is adeptly fried and rather wholesome, even on it’s own.

 photo IMG_9366_zpstm6noxje.jpg

Chawan Mushi (RM8) is not too shabby either. Chawan Mushi is a Japanese.  It is a type of egg custard, but not sweet. The  Chawan Mushi’s flavor comes mainly from Dashi, soy sauce and mirin, and even though Chawan Mushi is a savory dish, the texture is similar to egg flan, and I liked this one in particular very much. But then again, I might be biased as I’m a huge fan of eggs dishes.

There are still a lot more dishes that I did not manage to try in Hanamaru, but I definitely wouldn’t mind going for a second visit in the nearest future.

Wanna try the Udons in Hanamaru? Below is the details of the restaurant:

Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen

These days, my husband and I made effort to spend time as a couple rather than just being a parent to our son. Having our son when we were barely out of college, we missed out quite a lot as a couple. We were always more anxious on raising the boy more than anything else during our youth, and now he’s quite grown up, despite being busy with our job demands, we try as much as we can to spend time with each other.

Going to the movies every now and then is part of our current favourite past time. 😛 sure, it may sound normal to most of you, but considering that both of us are living an extremely busy lives, even going to dinners or movies together is special. Especially it it is impromptu or during one of those working nights.

Problems? Yes. Plenty. Not on the money part but on looking for a nice movie to watch together that is actually worth our time. Watched Penguin of Madagascar together back in January and it was great. February was not exactly our month. We watched plenty of movies in February but most of them are lousy. Although I enjoyed my husband’s companionship immensely, I couldn’t help cussing silently that the movie was not satisfactory enough.

Was getting pretty wary and thought that I would have to be forced to be contented to just enjoy all the snuggling in the cinema instead of the whole movie experience, then came March and we were invited to the preview of ‘Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen’.

 photo IMG_20150317_014715_zpsngqcpgxr.jpg

Cute movie ticket. Currently keeping this as a souvenir and using it as a bookmark. 😛

 photo _L2_5579_zpsk0ia3b4q.jpg

We get to meet the casts as well. 😉

So, before I comment on the movie, allow me to share with your the synopsis of it:

 photo ABTMP3-A3size-poster_zps3dslpuvw.jpg

Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen

Genre: Comedy
Director: Jack Neo
Cast: Joshua Tan, Maxi Lim, Tosh Zhang, Wang Wei Liang, Wesley Wong, Justin Dominic Mission, Charlie Goh, Bao Shang Ze, Jaspers Lai, Irene Ang, Richard Low, Wang Lei, Aileen Tan, Chen Tian Wen, Yip Limei
RunTime: 2 hrs 30 mins
Rating: PG13 (Some Coarse Language & Violence)
Released By: mm2 Entertainment and Golden Village Pictures
Official Website:

Opening Day: 19 February 2015

Synopsis: Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen brings Singapore’s favourite recruits back to the days before enlistment in ABTM. Instead of reporting to Pualu Tekong, the Ah Boys are posted to the Naval Diving Unit (NDU). Returning to active duty are familiar characters ? Ken Chow (Joshua Tan), the spoilt, rich kid, who tries to ‘keng’ his way out of NS. Aloysius Jin AKA Wayang King (Maxi Lim), whose over-enthusiasm creates more problems for his cabin mates. Lobang (Wang Weiliang), the street-smart wheeler dealer, out to make a quick buck off his cabin mates. Joining them is new face Hei Long AKA The Black Dragon (Wesley Wong), an aggressive gang leader, who prefers to talk with his fists instead of his mouth. Together, these ragtag band of misfits must somehow survive 40 weeks of training in hell. Do they have what it takes to become one of Singapore’s most fearsome military units ? The frogmen?

So, what did I think about this movie? Good or bad? It’s good. Quite an emotional roller coaster ride despite the fact that the movie genre is a comedy and I was treated to the views of well sculptured male bodies. Worth both your time and money. I can vouch for that. There is plenty of character’s development in this movie and you can actually see how the characters transformed to being better person by the end of the movie. While the movie is hilarious in nature, there is plenty of moral values embedded along the way and not to mention not so subtle message on doing what is right although it may crucify you emotionally.

In all, it is a good movie, and yes. I enjoyed this movie very much and easily give it a 5/5 and I’m absolutely glad that I did not have to just be contented to snuggling up to my husband and sleep in the cinema.

Every Night is Like The First Night Together

There’s a difference between sex and making love. Sex is just sex while making love is a sacred union between two bodies where couples becomes both physically and emotionally connected to each other . When couples are married to each other for a very long time, they forgot how to make love and just have sex, leading to the lack of intimacies and sex becomes just a chore or merely scratching mutual itch. No foreplay, no teasing, no cheeky bantering. Things just become…ordinary. Now, here’s some questions, how do you resolve such thing and reignite the passion? To me, marriage means falling in love with the same person over and over again, everyday. One can never be too comfortable in marriage. One should never stop dating or stop courting their other half when they are married. And one definitely should not stop making love to each other and have sex instead. How do you improve intimacies with your spouse and make things exciting and fall in love with each other over and over again everyday?

Well, I’ve been with my husband since I was 17 years old. And been married to him for more than a decade as of writing. I’d be lying if I said that everything is always fine with us. Sometimes there are rocky moments between us. Being married to the same person can be too comfortable for your own good sometimes. I learned it the hard way not to take things for granted, and efforts should be made to keep the passion alive. If you asked me to advice you on how to keep your marriage interesting and alive is that you should never stop dating each other. You both deserves some time off, without the kids around. You may be married and has become parents, but let’s not forget that you both are also a couple who needs some time off for intimate moments with each other.

Although sex is just one part of marriage, but it is probably one of the most important element in marriage. It helps you to be connected not only physically but spiritually and mentally to each other.

Sex can be quite boring and pretty much routine after being with each other for so long, and ladies particularly may find it is more of a chore than a pleasurable activities. I know, I know, work stress and kids may take a toll on your bodies, but there is no reason for you to abstain from sex or reject it when your spouse initiates it.

I was recently introduced to this intimate women care product that not only helps to tighten whatever that’s loosen inside, but served as something that could arouse you as well and increase the desire to be intimate with your partner.

 photo IMG_20150130_104542_zps2pb3dkxh.jpg

AE Ouch! A vaginal care product in the form of purplish coloured gel. It’s carefully formulated from herbs to help not only deal with unpleasant womanly problems like odor and whatnot, but it also helps to tightens the vagina wall. I’ve been using this for approximately one month and I suppose I can say that it improves my intimate moments with my husband tremendously.

AE Ouch! is pretty easy to use. Just squirt out the gel and apply it accordingly on your clitoris and your vagina. You may feel slightly warm inside but I assure you that it is not an unpleasant feeling, in fact, the tingling sensation is rather pleasurable.

I won’t exactly say that it can get you horny as different people may react differently to AE Ouch!, but somehow it has that effect on me, and I must say that it also helps me to achieve multiple orgasm easily, making the entire intimate experience with my husband exciting and addictive. This stuff is so effective that I dare not use it when my husband is busy or not around. I only use it if I intend to seduce him into making love with me, say, 5 minutes before the actual act as the effect of it is quite immediate.

True to it’s tagline: Every night is like the first night, this product does make me feel that each time being intimate with my husband is the first time we had intercourse together.

MyFest Melaka 2015: Klebang Bustel

Have you ever made love in a vehicle? Say…in a bus? If I say it is possible to do so without being watched or getting caught, would you do it? I once asked these questions to my friends on Facebook, and I’m quite surprised at their responses. Answers varies from wanting to try to accusing me for being horny. To be honest, what exactly were you thinking when I asked you that question? 😉

Well, kinky as making love in a vehicle might sound like, I did not actually meant for it to be scandalous, what more encouraging all of you out there to perform inappropriate PDAs. It only happens that I know a place that’s actually perfectly safe for intimate activities or otherwise.

Had the privilege to visit Klebang Beach, Melaka two weeks ago, and there is this unique chalet near the beach in the form of buses. 😉

 photo IMG_9260_zpsyfpbyxr5.jpg

The chalet is located in the Dataran 1Malaysia, Pantai Klebang, Melaka.

 photo IMG_9258_zpsad0tdsf8.jpg

The chalet’s reception.
 photo IMG_9261_zpssi9umodf.jpg

Yes. It is a real bus, modified into hotel rooms.

 photo IMG_9268_zpstcvutesk.jpg

This is one of the rooms. Not very spacious considering that it is inside a bus, but if you are feeling a bit adventurous and looking for a unique accommodation while you are staying in Melaka, the bustel might just be your answer. It is not particularly expensive. One room per night just cost –
RM80-RM120 depending on peak period or not. Each rooms can accommodate a maximum of 3 people per room.

MyFest Melaka 2015: Top 5 Street Food

If there is one thing that I like about Melaka apart from it being a very touristy and romantic place, is the street food. I have to say that the streetfood in Melaka is not only delicious but creatively irresistible too. Here’s sharing with you my top 5 favourite irresistible street food that can easily be found in the night market of Jonker Walk.

1. Baby Drink

Spot this stall if you are walking around in the night market. This particular stall sells colourful fruit juices in baby bottles. For RM6 per bottle, you’ll get to relive your childhood moments, drinking fruit juices from milk bottle, through the rubber nipples, no less.

Well, yea…you don’t have to ask. I suck on this. And my husband did too. It’s a lovely experience, I assure you. Taste wise, the drinks are mediocre. But like I said… This is really a fun thing to do as an adult. A bonus: You get to keep the milk bottle as a souvenir.

2. Colourful, cute pau

Loves Hello Kitty? Addicted to Angry Birds? Fancy Rilakuma? Hunt down these cuties and have a bite or two. They come with assorted classic flavours like red bean, kaya, BBQ, curry and etc.

3. Satay celup

Grab some of these. You don’t have to go to overrated Satay Celup restaurants in Melaka. Some stalls in Jonker Street are selling these too and I assure you they tastes as good as the restaurants around Melaka town.

4. Fried Skewered Quail Eggs

Bored of having quail eggs the same way you usually do? Say bye bye to boiled quail eggs and say hello to fried quail eggs.

Cracked onto a special hot pan, quail eggs are topped with sliced chicken sausages and fried to perfection.

It was then dressed with creamy mayonnaise and skewered. It made quite a lovely snack and it was positively addictive to me.

5. Takoyaki

Another not to be missed street food in Jonker Street is the famous Japanese street/ festival food, the Takoyaki. It was first popularized in Osaka, Japan and is here to stay in Malaysia.

Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special takoyaki pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion. These Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce, similar to Worcestershire sauce, and mayonnaise. The takoyaki is then sprinkled with green laver and shavings of dried bonito. These can be a tad messy to be eaten on the go as you walk, but they are terribly irresistible and I couldn’t stop at just one box.

So, there you go. My 5 favourite street food that can be found in the Jonker Walk Nightmarket. If you ever visit Melaka, do keep a lookout for these and give them a try. I can assure you that they are worth your time, and money too. 🙂
