An old friend whom I haven’t met for quite some time commented that I look much more beautiful and younger these days in comparison to a few years back when I went for a food review a couple of weeks ago. I was naturally flattered, of course. It’s been awhile since someone told me that I looked younger and better than before. Perhaps, all the skincare routine I have been doing is paying off after all. 🙂
I used to be quite afraid of ageing, but I think it is not that scary anymore after using this Bee Venom Intensive Anti-Aging Moisturising Cream.
Bee Venom Intensive Anti-Aging Moisturising Cream is a multifunctional cosmetic which kickstarts the body’s own production of Collagen and Elastin – the key factors to restoring younger, healthier, skin by decreasing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It works in harmony with the body’s systems and is non-invasive or painful like surgery, skin peels, or injections.
Alpha Lipid Bee Venom Intensive Moisturising Cream is the only skin care product containing New Zealand’s Alpha Lipid Colostrum which provides TGF (Transforming Growth Factors) to promote skin cell repair and renewal.
Key active ingredients:
Bee Venom
Natural exotic oils such as jojoba, almond, macadamia seed
Manuka Honey
Evening Primrose
Shea Butte
I’ll be honest with you. Before trying this out, I was a tad skeptical about using a product that contains bee venom. I thought; hey…won’t it sting? Will it have any side effects? But despite of my initial reluctance to try this product, I tried nevertheless.
During the first week of usage, my skin had a breakout. I freaked out, but discovered that after continuous usage, my complexion started to look clearer, and I have the dark rings under my eyes are not so obvious anymore, so I decided to continue to use it, and I’m glad to say I did.
There is noticeable differences after using a jar of this for two months. My skin is actually much more moisturized, and whenever I used it as a makeup base, my make up lasts even longer and I have that blushing, glowing effect even without blusher on, which is really great! 🙂
If you are looking for an anti ageing cream that actually works and have that botox effect, you might want to go for this too.
This product is suitable for use by all men and women except those who are allergic to bee stings. I personally would recommend to test on a small area of skin before first use and wait 20 minutes. If there are no adverse effects then continue applying to your face.
Everyone’s skin is unique and different, so some might experience a slight tingling sensation which is normal.
You can also use this product as a Night Cream. All you need to do is apply a generous layer over the face and neck and leave on overnight. In the morning use it again as a Day Cream. For best results apply twice daily and use within 12 months after opening.
So where to buy this product? Well, you can hop over HERE for more information or directly contact +60 19-217 2162 to place your order.
Friends who knows me says I changed a lot. I’m not the person I was a year ago, and I tend to agree with their opinion. I suppose going through something that had a huge impact on me pushed me to be the woman I am today. You see, some people went through something that made them changed into a completely different person and could never be who they were before, and I happened to went through just that.
Some said I changed for the better, but some said I changed for the bad and they couldn’t even recognized me or could feel the connection with me anymore. Well, whatever their opinion is, they are right. I’m better now…and also in some ways, bad too. It depends on your own perspective. Doesn’t matter though, as I am a happier person now. I feel more comfortable with myself and feels much more liberated, regardless of people’s opinion on me.
I have more fun now and I don’t just stay in my comfort zone. I adopted traveling as a hobby and get lost very often, but as I do, I discover more and more things about myself and life in general.
If there is one thing that I learned about myself these days that I like to take photos while traveling. Read: Selfies. 🙂 I like making new memories in places that I visit and I like looking good in pictures. Therefore, I make it a point to doll up while I’m traveling. 🙂 it is not always convenient as I prefer to travel light with just my trustworthy pink backpack, but hey…I always believe that style should not go flying even when we are hitting the road.
Friends always wonder how I managed to doll up every now and then when I’m on media trips and whatnot these days.
Well, here’s my secret. 😉 ice recently quite taken to taking some beauty survival kit whenever I travel.
Products from Victoria Jackson’s Cosmetics. Victoria Jackson’s Beauty Diary (RM199) , Foundation Powder (RM60) and Lip Addiction (RM55).
These are the products that I have been using regularly to satisfy the vain woman in me. The foundation powder is mineral based, with SPF15. It works quite well in covering up my flaws while the lip addiction gives my lips some healthy but natural colourings. I used these whenever I go for events etc.
But when I go travel, I omit the foundation compact powder and Lip Addiction lip colour in favour of Victoria Jackson’s Beauty Diary, the ultimate lifesaver for a vain traveler like me. It’s compact in size and could easily fit on the palm of your hand. Designed to fit your daily handbags and backpacks. It contains everything that you need for a complete make up look; foundation powder, eyeshadows pallete in a few different shades, blushers, maskara, lipstick pallete, lipliner and eyebrow pencil. Brushes and mirror is included for easy application on the go.
For the price of RM199, I’d say that this is quite a worthy investment in the long run for a vain traveler like me. Great for beginners who just started to fiddle with makeup too.
You can buy these at selected Watson’s outlet nationwide.

There are plenty of unpleasant things that is going on in the blogging world lately. Some is rather embarrassing to even mention as I believe, when a blogger screwed up…the others will be affected too. As they say, one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch. So I’ll just leave that where it belongs and hope people will just forget some stupidities even happen.
Yes…some is not worthy for discussion but some things that is going on in the industry, I believe must be spoken up.
The one thing that is worthy precious time to mention in my opinion:
Plagiarism
Such a disgusting thing and as someone who wrote 33 mini novellas and self published a couple of novels online, I am completely against plagiarism.
As a writer, I have experienced my work being plagiarized a few times, and while this is quite strong to say, I have always feel that plagiarism is a form of rape and robbery Read that: Rape and robbery. Yes. Rape and robbery. I stand by this statement as those who plagiarize forcefully take and use someone’s ideas their own personal gains.
Within the span of one month, I’ve seen a couple of plagiarism cases
Plagiarism is a form of intellectual crime and I do not believe in condoning them. Not even one bit, because if you just let it be, it will occur again and again countlessly.
A lot of bloggers keep quiet whenever their work is being plagiarized. That is a huge mistake, because you let that happen once and just keep quiet about it, people will think it is all right to just copy and paste your work without even bothering to give you credit for it.
I have been plagiarized and I do not tolerate such act. I took legal actions against those who claims that they ate the proprietor of my intellectual property. Some people would think that it is not worth the fight and one should just be all sweet and forgiving by just turning a cheek against it…and thinks people will always know the truth. But sorry to break it to you people that this world is not a romance novel nor it is a fairy tale.
Grow up. The real world does not always paint the good people in the good light and the criminal in the bad light. The world may see things differently and worship the bad guys just because they could give you enjoyment or benefit.
The real world does not always have a happily ever after for good people and if fighting for your rights is considered being a badass, then so be it. It does not matter how people see you, but how you see yourself and stood for what is right.
Pak John Steamboat& BBQis one of the Halal steamboat that you could find in Kuala Lumpur. There is two outlet. One in eCurve and another one in Wangsa Walk Mall. If you are my Facebook friend or have been following my blog, you would noticed that I have blogged about it and posted about dining in Pak John Steamboat&BBQ quite a few times a few months back, during Ramadhan.
I was immensely pleased and impressed with the food varieties in Pak John Steamboat and BBQ in their eCurve outlet, which is adopting the eat all you can buffet concept, but after winning their writing contest that awarded me with 3 pieces of RM100 worth of dining voucher which enables me to dine at their Wangsa Walk outlet, I find that apart from reasonably priced meal deals that they are offering, I have nothing much to talk about their Wangsa Walk outlet.
I seriously preferred both food and service at their eCurve outlet better, and that’s not just because of their eat all you can buffet concept.
To date, I went back there 4 times in a huge group as a paying customer (used the voucher merely as a reduction to my total bill) and even threw a birthday party for my son’s birthday there with my eWana FM deejay friends, and although I am somewhat okay with the food served, I wasn’t particularly impressed with their staff, which are not always attentive and doesn’t communicate well with us when we were there. My friends who dined with me, although happy with the fresh food that’s served, was not particularly pleased with the service either…which is sad, as I hoped to be a good and entertaining host. 🙁
The latest visit annoyed me and my husband the most. Some misunderstandings occurred when we were clearing the bill, but I am so happy to report that regardless of whatever thing that they are lacking, Pak John Steamboat&BBQ bosses and managements are always ready to serve you and surprisingly, after receiving honest feedbacks from their patrons, they have improved greatly, and that’s just within 2 weeks time frame. Kudos to the management for making great effort and initiatives to provide the best service to their customers.
Sure…there is hiccups here and there, but improvements have been made. Credits should be given where it’s due.
So, as of writing, I can safely recommend you to dine there if you are looking for a Halal steamboat joint to dine with your friends and family.Pak John Steamboat&BBQ, Wangsa Walk Outlet is quite a safe bet.
There’s a few things you should note while you are dining there:
*It is not a buffet concept. But they do provide reasonably priced steamboat set meals starting from RM29.90 that is great for individuals and small eaters.
*They have lunch set menu and cake is also available during lunch hours and tea time. Price for these set meals range from RM9.90 and above.
*Premium items like beef, lamb and smoke duck slices is available for separate orders.
*Dimsum platters are available on certain days and certain hours.
*Chicken soup is free of charge, but other flavours of steamboat soup like Tomyam soup, prawn soup, curry and whatnot is chargeable at rm10.
*Soup refill is free of charge, and you could request to change the hot plate to fresh ones after grilling at no charges too.
*The outlet is constantly full house during weekends, so I would advice to make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.
*Service charges and government taxes applies.
Being a glutton, I prefer the eCurve outlet more, but if you are a busy working individual or a small eater, you would definitely prefer the Pak John Steamboat&BBQ Wangsa Walk outlet more. Why?
Here’s the reason:
Unlike the eCurve outlet, Pak John Steamboat &BBQ Wangsa Walk outlet provides take-away service. Which means…if you drop by for lunch or something and couldn’t manage to finish your food, you won’t have to worry about wasting your food. 🙂 During my last visit, I wasn’t particularly in the mood to finish up my food, so I asked them to pack up the leftovers for me.
There was quite a lot of leftovers; corn on cobs, vercimille, steamboat noodles, beef slices, smoke duck slices and chicken eggs. We could also request to take away the leftover soup too, but I opt out of it.
I mixed and matched the leftovers after that and pleased to say that it did not go rotten.
Here’s my version of Pak John Steamboat &BBQ Beef Slices Noodles. 😉 Tasted not bad, actually… And having this at the comfort of my own home makes me wonder if they would consider my suggestion to sell packed meals like this on regular basis to their patrons.
Below is the information that you need should you be interested to dine at Pak John Steamboat &BBQ Wangsa Walk outlet:

There is a drawback to being a traveler, especially if you are the kind who prefers to travel backpacking style or prefers to travel light whenever you hit the road; you can’t bring too many things with you.
Traveling light means you have to reduce your clothing and keep everything to bare essentials. Indirectly speaking, you would have to sacrifice vanity and go for comfort instead. No fancy dresses or loads of bulky clothing in the travel bag, that’s for sure.
Problems? It is not much a problem for most hardcore travelers, but I’m terribly vain. I like looking good, especially in all my travel photos, so I kinda cheat a lil bit by bringing accessories like scarves, sunglasses and those travel kit sized skincare products and make-up so that I can accessorize and look attractive whenever I travel. You’ll never know who you will meet whenever you travel, and I always believe that style should never go flying when you travel.
I’ve been quite taken to bringing my scarves and sunglasses along to make myself look different with just a pair outfit, but recently, I’ve discovered that there is one more trick that I can use to make myself look good without much effort; which is by using contact lenses. Not any ordinary contact lenses, mind you, but those colored contact lenses that is catered to make you look especially exotic.
However, there are not much colored contact lenses out there that make your eyes look naturally beautiful. Some cosmetic contact lenses may give you striking eye colors or exotic eyes, but they can look rather alien and terribly fake, and worst, some is not very comfortable to wear too.
But lucky me. I was recently introduced to the FreshLook ColorBlends and Dailies Illuminate range of contact lenses by Ciba Vision, which is currently known as Alcon Vision Care.
I’ve been using both Alcon’s FreshLook ColorBlends and Alcon’s FreshLook Dailies Illuminate contact lenses, but for now, let me talk about my favourite; the FreshLook ColorBlends contact lenses.
It is available in 12 colours:
1. Grey
2. Amethyst
3. Brown
4. Blue
5. Green
6. Honey
7. Pure Hazel
8. True Sapphire
9. Turquoise
10. Brilliant Blue
11. Gemstone Green
12. Sterling Grey
Freshlook ColorBlends are catered for both who needs prescription and those who does not need vision correction. This means that if you needs prescription for your contact lenses, it wouldn’t be a problem for you to use Freshlook ColorBlends as oppose those contact lenses that is just purely for cosmetic use.
The 12 varieties of Freshlook ColorBlends contact lenses is quite promising, I assure you. It is known to be the world’s bestselling contact lenses that contain 3-in-1 Colour Technology which blends three colours into one to create the most natural eye colour change for a beautiful and attractive look.
I’ve given it a try, and I’m happy to say that I’m in love with Freshlook ColorBlends contact lenses.
This is my eyes without Freshlook ColourBlends
While this is the picture of my eyes with the Freshlook ColorBlends contact lenses on. I tried the grey colour contact lenses on. See the difference? My eyes looks more attractive now. With Freshlook ColorBlends contact lenses on, there is subtle changes in eye colour.
My eyes are now lighter in colour, with larger pupil hole with a much more prominent limbal ring. 🙂
Someone commented that I look sweeter and younger when I used Freshlook ColorBlends contact lenses and that definitely made my day. 🙂 What I really like about Freshlook ColourBlends contact lenses is that it changes my eye colour without making my eyes looks unnaturally strange.
Unlike other cosmetic contact lenses, Freshlook ColorBlends gives my eyes subtle changes in colour and makes me look beautifully classy and sophisticated instead. I used to be a non believer of cosmetic contact lenses as I think they merely make my eyes looks strikingly weird and can be drying on the eyes hence makes it really uncomfortable when I am wearing them but I change my mind about that after trying out Freshlook ColorBlends.
Freshlook ColorBlends not only make me look younger and naturally beautiful, but it is a comfort to wear too. I’ve worn these contact lenses up to 10 hours straight while I was traveling a few days ago, and it doesn’t even makes my eyes feel itchy or dry in comparison to the previous contact lenses that I have been using. It is surprising cuz usually my eyes will itch after a maximum 8 hours of contact lenses on. My eyes does not feel dry and remained moisturized too and on top of that, throughout the time that I had the Freshlook ColorBlends on, the lenses have a firm grip on my eyes and the lenses did not occasionally move away from my cornea and I did not really have to rub it back in place in comparison to my regular contact lenses. It was a perfect fit for me.
Although I don’t encourage more than 10 hours contact lenses usage, I can vouch for Alcon’s FreshLook ColorBlends contact lenses’ level of comfort on long hours usage. Highly recommended for those who are looking for both beauty and comfort. Alcon’s FreshLook ColorBlends contact lenses can be obtained from major optometrist outlets at a retail price of RM84 per box.

These days, whenever I bumped into old friends or acquaintances, they would tell me that I looked different now than years ago. I look much happier, much more confident and definitely much more beautiful than before. Apparently, I emitted a much more different aura these days and it is much more positive than before. I was told that I have somehow blossomed, and as cocky as it sounds, I can’t help but agree with people’s general opinion about me these days.
I have indeed changed; in the way I dress up and carry myself and also the way I speak and mingle.
I used to be that woman who couldn’t be bothered on how she look like or dress up in public provided she feels comfortable in the outfit that she is wearing, but now, you won’t catch me going out of the house without making an effort to doll up or at least putting up some make up on. Yes. I’m much more vain than before these days, as I come to learn that this world is very realistic. There is no point if you are brainy or talented but you don’t dress the part. Nobody is going to give you a glance what more give you the attention that you actually deserved if you don’t present yourself well.
The same goes with relationship. Men are very visual creature and they tend to gravitate towards beautiful sweet things rather than a plain Jane. Married for 12 years, and I learned that painful lesson the hard way, I’m afraid. I used to think that men will love you unconditionally once they are committed to you but sometimes, that is not the case and they get bored with you easily though they try not to make it show.
Would you believe me if I were to tell you that today, I am not the same person I was a year ago? Well, believe it, because I am not that woman anymore. When I said I’m not who I was a year ago, believe it. I’m a different woman now. I’m somewhat transformed. I believe that I am a better version of myself today than the same day last year.
A lot of things happened to me last year that triggered me to change. Both good and bad. 2013 was the darkest time of my life, but at the same time, it was also a blessing in disguise, as it marks a huge turning point for me where I had to make important choices that leads to somewhat a I dubbed, a ‘spiritual awakening’.
I had to choose between loving people or loving myself, and realizing that sometimes, at the end of the day,the only relationship that would matter is just the relationship with yourself, and not with somebody else, I choose to change and be a better version of me in whole and love myself more. And I’m glad I made that decision, as I discovered that if I don’t love myself and put myself first, nobody is going to love me the way I really deserved, regardless of what I do for them, regardless of my role in their life, and regardless of my sacrifices.
I learned the hard way that when it comes to relationship and marriage, nothing good ever comes out of self-sacrifice. Nobody will appreciate that and will only take things for granted. Take my advice ladies, do not make your husbands or you boyfriends the centre of your world. You will resent that and it will actually destroy the love that you have for each other.
It is important to love yourself first before others, and I’m glad I made that choice, because I’m much happier now, and my happiness no longer depend on the people around me or the people that I have different kind of relationship with.
Ladies, if you made the same mistake that I did where you allowed your role as a girlfriend, wife or mother to dictate your life, please stop, and take charge of your life, right now!
Marriage and relationships is supposed to enhance you, make you shine, make you be a better version of yourself, not the other way around. If you ever feel that hallow feeling that marriage has somehow stopped or restrict you from being that beautiful and confident woman that I know you are, then you are doing it all wrong. Marriage and love relationship is supposed to make you feel beautiful, confident and secure, not ugly or inferior.
You are worth it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Every woman is beautiful. If you have been making a habit to just play Plain Jane, then it is time to start dolling up and be Fabulous Mary. Not sure how to start? Easy, start by taking good care of yourself. Your body. Your appearances. Take care of your skin, put on some makeup. Some say that motherhood is a walk in the park. Sure…I would agree with that statement…only that my ‘park’ has dinosaurs and all sort of horrifying monsters in it. No. That was sarcasm.
Seriously speaking, motherhood is not a walk in a park for me. It’s not a breeze as anyone elses’s experience and far from enjoyable as my child is different. Very different. He is not your regular child. He have autism. If you are not familiar about it, I’d suggest you to look it up on Google and do some reading before you blast me with all sort of frequently asked questions.
Having autism means my child is somewhat socially impaired. He is almost non-verbal and have developmental delays. He is not your regular kid and no, unlike other children his age, he does not excel academically nor he interact well with peers or people around him. My son also does not take interest in things other normal children takes interest in and when he was younger, he often have sensory overload that leads to mini seizure and meltdowns.
The uneducated and uninformed would accuse me for being a negligent parent and questioned my parenting skill, but the truth is that a child with autism is not your regular child although they look physically all right and good looking, even.
The earlier years was hellish for me. I had to face society’s judgment on me and I lack moral and emotional support and not to mention resources on how to deal with my child. Frankly speaking, I did not know how to deal with my own child.
But things can’t be bad forever. When I joined an oversea based autism support group on Facebook, things changed. I get real tips, real advice from real parents who are taking care of children with autism themselves. That alone beats all ‘advises’ that I get from ‘professionals’ and people around me who couldn’t possibly know how it is really like to deal with autism first hand.
My life and my son’s life started to change and improve for the better when we started to do things differently. I ditched all the normalcy in raising a child and used different methods to deal with life, and wow…things really got better.
My son, who was completely non-verbal previously started to developed eccholalia and started to have interactions with people around him. From not having eye-contact with anyone when spoken to, he started to look into people’s eyes. From not being toilet trained at an advanced age, he started to use the toilet on his own. From being afraid of being in the crowd, he followed me everywhere to events and even go on media trips with me.
So…what did I do to help my son improve? The answer is simple. I stopped listening to judgmental people who are mostly friends, family and relatives with normal children, and instead of trying to teach my son and force him to excel academically like other normal children, I started to concentrate on giving him hands-on experience on how to survive the world. Instead of locking him up at home upon people’s suggestion like I used to as he doesn’t have any sense of manners or skills to deal with the society, I started to bring him out and let him get used to things. I bring him to work with me…attend events and food reviews with me, travel to loads of places in Malaysia with me and he improved tremendously. Instead of spoiling him and being overprotective, I taught him to familiarize himself on how to take public transport with me and he now no longer feel so at loss whenever we take public transport or LRT to move about in the city.
Instead of restraining him, I give him freedom to explore the world around him and allow him to experiment with things instead of stopping him like I used to. I adopted cats as pets and encourage him to bond with the pets. It is a wonderful form of therapy, I kid you not. It instill the sense of responsibility and empathy in him.
We also started doing things like attending cooking demonstrations together, taking photos together at every opportunity that we get when we are outside, do painting together etc. I’m happy to say that he improved greatly when I stopped pushing him academically. Basically, I just concentrate on what he can do instead of what he can’t do.
Here’s a video of us taking on the world, our way. We did various things together in our venture to get out of our comfort zone and be extra-ordinary. 😉
I treat my son more like a younger brother rather than just a son these days too and unlike other parents who used smart phones and tablets as a ‘babysitter’ or as a tool to keep their children occupied, I use it as a form of communication and educational tool. I installed all sort of autism friendly apps like Talking Tom and Talking Angela to get my son to learn how to talk. I also installed piano apps to improve his concentration skills and listening skills.
I allow my child to use his iPad without restricting him, so he have access to the Internet and he is now able to search for things that he want and watch things that he want via YouTube too. He may not be able to read or write in the normal sense of the word like other children his age… But he could when using iPad, so for now, that is good enough for me. 🙂
Some disagree with what I’m doing…allowing him to use iPad whenever he like, but I beg to differ. Like I said, we use it as a communication and a learning tool instead of a babysitting tool. I never allow him to use it outside of the house, ever, and bringing it to the dining table to fiddle with is strictly prohibited. iPad at dining table, regardless of the circumstances to keep him occupied is a no no. And same goes when we are traveling or visiting relatives.
And speaking of an unconventional ways of teaching my son, I also allow him to watch all sort of edutainment programs.
And the most recent one that caught my attention is Chi Chi & Cha Cha, a locally produced edutainment show.
ChiChi & ChaCha is Asia’s 1st Live Action & 3D animation edutainment program for children.
Through Chi Chi & Cha Cha, both parents and children can look forward to learning a wide variety of topics from their live-hosts.
Learning about these varied topics will also be done through songs…
And dance too. All of these fun and educational things run throughout the episodes for both children’s learning enjoyment. Chi Chi & Cha Cha edutainment show include 3D animation, which are exciting ways for children to remember the lesson.
There is also an arts and crafts segment to nurture the budding talents of the child.
I’m always careful on what I let my son watch, but I can safely recommend Chi Chi& Cha Cha to all parents with young children out there. The show’s 3D animated cast consists of twins, who are the male and female tigers ChiChi & ChaCha, along with Atan who is an orangutan and Hujan the jungle boy.
The host for the show is five friendly kid stars of Astro, Harris, Afiq, Sweet, Leen and Farisha.
ChiChi & ChaCha is catered towards kindergarten and early primary children between the ages of 6-8 and aired at 10.30am on Astro Ceria 3 times a day, from Monday to Friday. The language used for this edutainment program is Bahasa Malaysia and ChiChi & ChaCha can be viewed on Astro Ceria, which is channel 611 and also Astro Maya HD Channel 135.
More detailed information on Chi Chi & Cha Cha edutainment show can be obtain from https://www.chichiandchacha.com/. So if you wanna do a lil homework about it before allowing your lil tots to watch, just head over to their website.
Having screened Chi Chi &Cha Cha personally, I think it is not only a good show but also a good platform to give more exposure to my son, leading me to wonder if I can take things further with my son by getting him involved directly in the show itself. And well…as if it’s a sign from above, I spotted this:
proPassion, Taylor’s University’s student PR consultancy is collaborating with Kyanite TV and Big Fish Media to organise “Be The Next ChiChi & ChaCha Star”, a star search for kids and teens aged between 6 to 18 years old to perform live with the hosts of hit TV show, ChiChi & ChaCha (CC2) in 2015.

There is a recipe to a long-lasting marriage; which is to fall in love over and over again with the person that you married. Not particularly easy as we tend to get too comfortable as time goes by and consequently, we are prone to take our spouse’s existence for granted. Resentments will then get bottled up, leading to all sort of problems that will breaks marriage apart.
I learned things the hard way, and therefore, I try not to take things for granted and try not to get too comfortable or feel too secure in my marriage and strive to have a more quality relationship with my husband with each passing day. And I believe, he strive to do the same too, despite the fact that we are now no longer the carefree teenagers we once were when we both just met, and have our own commitment to our work and our career.
I don’t want to fall out of love with my husband. Despite of his flaws…I couldn’t imagine my life without him, and I believe the feelings is mutual. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box, but I make a point to find something that both of us could enjoy doing together as often as possible, and in return, my husband will make an effort to find time to be with me and our son.
One of the things that we enjoy doing is sampling good food. We can never go wrong with a dinner date, and so we make a point to dine somewhere good once a month or attend and invited food review.
One of our all time favourite feel-good place to dine in is at Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel PJ. There is nothing not to like there. Good food, relaxing ambiance despite the fact that it is located in the midst of the bustling city, friendly and accommodating staff, and not to mention wonderful chefs who strive to prepare fabulous meals for us to sample.
Food in Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel, PJ is usually good, but their most recent promo is to die for. They are having this American BBQ promo and I have to say that there is nothing on the menu that I don’t like.
Here is what my husband and I managed to try last week:
Chicago Beef Ribs (RM 45.00). Braised spare rib in sweet onion BBQ sauce, served with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. The ribs was juicy and tender and while I’m usually put off by onions, this combination works surprisingly well for me. The mashed potato was buttery and creamy enough for me too. Beef lovers would definitely approve this.
Latin American Chipotle Spring Chicken(RM 32.00)Marinated smoked dried Jalapeno chicken charbroiled, served with potato and farmer’s vegetables. The spring chicken was not only tender but was juicy and bursting with flavours. It was delicious and the potatoes and fresh farmer’s vegetable on the side makes this quite a balanced meal. Recommended to hungry eaters who wants a lovely balanced meal that won’t really ruin their diet.
BBQ Salmon Steak (RM 32.00) Lemony marinated salmon steak grill, served with avocado tomato salsa, potato & farmer’s vegetables. I’m usually put off by the smell of fishes, but this one’s an exception. Compliment to the chef for a well executed dish. The salmon steak had no fishy smell whatsoever and to be honest, I won’t mind to having seconds.
Texas Osso Bucco (RM 43.00) Quite a tongue twister to pronounce but this lamb shank with honey BBQ is marinated and charbroiled to perfection. Served with ginger mustard BBQ sauce and a bed of buttery and creamy mashed potatoes, this dish is simply irresistible. Then lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and flavourful. The best part of it? The lamb shank does not have any unpleasant smell whatsoever that could put you off from eating it. Thumbs up for this dish. It was done with a flair only an experienced chef could.
Hawaiian Barbeque (RM 40.00) If you fancy some variety, then go for this hearty mix of tasty beef, chicken and lamb cutlet. They are charbroiled to perfection and paired with with hot pineapple and pepper sauce. Mildly spicy and tangy at the same time. Rather exciting on the palate.
And last but not least, Fisherman’s Treat (RM 38.00). Any seafood lovers would be tempted to reel this in. This platter consists of a grilled combination of seafood, fish, prawns, mussels and squid, served with garden salad and lemony BBQ sauce. My husband prefers to have all the seafood with the specially concocted lemony BBQ sauce but personally I thought that they are already deliciously flavoured to have on their own.
Overall, I highly recommends the American BBQ at Utara Coffee House, Armada Hotel PJ. The American BBQ will be ongoing from 1 Nov 2014-1 Dec 2014.The food is not only fabulously prepared but have an affordable price tags too. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you are looking for a place to dine with your spouse, friends or colleague, just head to Armada. You couldn’t possibly go wrong over there.

I’m quite a big fan of Hello Kitty. Apparently I have a soft spot for everything girlish and pink. Yes. I’ve been a huge fan of Hello Kitty, the fictional character produced by the Japanese company, Sanrio. She is depicted as an anthropomorphic white Japanese bobtail cat with a red bow.
I used to think that Hello Kitty is a cat, but apparently my whole life is a lie. The character is a gijinka, an anthropomorphism or personification of a cat. In August 2014 an anthropologist from the University of Hawaii was told by Sanrio that Hello Kitty was not simply a cat, describing her as a little English girl called Kitty White, from outside London. The name Kitty was inspired from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, where in a scene early in the book Alice plays with a cat she calls Kitty.
So there you have it, folks…the truth about Hello Kitty that not much of you probably know. She is more than just a what she seems, a mouthless cat. She is a little girl, who is every girls’ best friend, and last week, I was given an opportunity to catch a glimpse of her at the launching of her clothing line at Kitschen, Fahrenheit 88, Kuala Lumpur.
Sanrio’s Hello Kitty range of products are usually quite high priced, but now you can wear the Hello Kitty themed collection by KITSCHEN which is tagged affordably between RM39.90 to RM159.90.
