Eat, Ride and Be Merry at Gombak Cowboy Café, Selangor

There are many cowboy-themed eateries in Malaysia, but Gombak Cowboy Café is probably the only café that features not only cowboy decor but also a complete view of the stables and horses running in the field.

Located next to Gombak Horse Riding Club on Jalan Sg. Pusu, this newly opened cafe offers a variety of Western dishes tailored to Malaysian tastes. This cafe features a minimalist facade made of wood and looks exactly like a cowboy eatery.

Horseback riding activities can be enjoyed by visitors at Gombak Horse Riding Club, next to Gombak Cowboy Café. I have always been adventurous and I’m always seeking for an Adrenaline fix, and so, I did just that before ordering my dinner from Gombak Cowboy Café. I used to go for some horseback riding in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa until it closes the place to public for renovation. It’s been years since I ride a horse, so it’s kinda abit awkward, especially when I haven’t really bond well with the horse.

Say hi to Montana, the horse who gave me a ride. A beautiful, friendly and considerate thing. Fella galloped slowly as if sensing my nervousness, but sped up a bit in the last round. Gosh, that startled me a bit.

I let my son have a good round of it too. Like me, he haven’t gone on a fun ride for years as well. It’s good to know that he still enjoys it.

There are various interesting angles to take pictures in the grounds of Gombak Cowboy Café.

Visited the stable located nextdoor to the cafe. There are plenty of horses here, and they are very friendly and would entertain you for a selfie or two if you talk to them nicely.

Such a darling, this one. Whenever I go near, fella would be placing his face near for some petting. I’d be sure to bring some him carrot treats for my next visit.

Nightfall in Gombak Cowboy Café. Beautiful, isn’t it?

The place is spacious and comfortable dining area also facilitates physical distancing in this COVID- 19 era.

Some pictures taken at night when I was over there. Yea. I’m somewhat a horse and chicken stalker. I heard some sheep in the distance but it was really dark and I was a little spooked to walk around to investigate.

The saloon bar is an attraction for customers to take pictures. Instagrammers would definitely love this Instaworthy place.

Anyway, enough of my selfies. let’s get back to the menu. The cowboy -style cooking concept menu is simple but appetising

The promo price is terribly affordable and the best part of that meals comes with free drinks of your choice. What we had for dinner that night; Meltique Steak, Smoky Duck Burger and Cowboy Special Fried Rice.

Smoky Duck Burger (RM18). I have always loved all the duckie meals, so when I saw the duck burger in the menu, I knew I had to try this one. I absolutely love it. It’s done right and really sensational. They didn’t spare the smoky duck slices. It was thick and goes really well with the fluffy burger buns. Absolutely flavourful and have no gamey scents whatsoever. I would have gone for seconds if I didn’t consider the fact that I’m trying to shed some extra jiggly bits these days.

Meltique Steak (RM45). Another must try on the menu if you’re steak lovers. The steak comes with a side of chunky mushroom gravy and some coleslaw salad. Very flavouful. The steak is well done by default, so if you prefer your steaks medium rare of still abit bloody, please remember to request for it when you placed your order. I like my steaks well done, can’t stomach bloody meats, so this is perfect for me.

Cowboy Special Fried Rice (RM15). If you’re a fan of rice, you’ll love this one. The fried rice is topped generously with fat fried squid. They claimed this is fried rice but in my opinion it tasted more like fragrant herb rice. Absolutely refreshing flavour and it somewhat cleanse the palate when you eat them. A must order if you love flavoured rice.

Drinks; Blackcurrant Soda, Watermelon Lemonade Blizz and Classic Mohiyo. Berrylicious, refreshing and rejuvenating, I must say, especially if you worked out some sweat after some good horseback riding session.

I fancied some hot drinks after meal, so I decides to go for some hot chocolate drink after meal. They have hot coffee and tea too, of course. But I’m not a fan of coffee, so I went for this instead. It’s lovely. Not your instant hot chocolate drink kind of flavour but the real hotchoc with lingering bittersweet aftertaste. A must order if you like hotchocs.

Overall the experience is fantastic and beyond amazing. I love the food, I love the horses, can’t get enough of riding and I foresee that I will be a frequent visitor next year as I’m planning to sign up for some horse riding classes.

For those who would like some good ride, good food and and be merry, you might want to drop by at Gombak Cowboy Café. Info as below:

M3 Body Care- Environmentally Friendly Body Care Products

My life changed when I became a certified scuba diver this year. I started to see alot of things differently. I started to see the people around me differently, I started to lead my life differently and I even see the world around me differently. Before being a scuba diver, I couldn’t care less about the environment, but after I started to scuba dive, I started to realized how much damage we humans has done to the environment, especially to the underwater world.

You may or may not realized this, but marine pollutions was not only caused by the the rubbish and the plastic products that has been thrown away into the sea, but skincare and body care products that we’re using on daily basis. Most skincare products contains chemicals that are harmful towards the marine lives, especially the coral. The usage of sunblocks and body lotions for example, are extremely harmful towards the coral reef. The world’s coral reefs are suffering, and chemicals commonly found in sunscreen contribute to the problem.

When you swim with sunscreen on, chemicals seep into the water, where they’re absorbed by corals. These substances contain nanoparticles that can disrupt coral’s reproduction and growth cycles, ultimately leading to bleaching and consequently will disrupt the marine ecosystem in whole, considering how corals are host to many marine lifeforms.

Even if you don’t swim after applying sunscreen, it can go down drains when you shower. Aerosol versions of sunscreen can spray large amounts of the product onto the sand, where it gets washed into our oceans.

So how do you protect both the environment and at the same time, care for your body? Simple, use organic skincare/bodycare products. Most organic skincare products are coral friendly.

Here’s sharing with you some awesome products that’s organically produced and is environmentally friendly; the M3 Body Care Products.

Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel Review

So it’s still CMCO and while I’ve been cooped up at home, I haven’t been neglecting my workout routine. Well, a girl got to do anything to stay healthy and fit, or all the binge eating is going to bite me with vengeance, right?

I’ve been doing cardio dance at home and been sweating out alot. Problems? Yes. These days whenever I workout and sweat out, the sweat caused heat rashes on my skin that last at least two weeks, and it’s so irritating. It’s so itchy and gives burns like sensation. It’s so irritating to the touch that I had to apply soothing aloe vera gels on it to sooth the discomfort.

I don’t know what contributes to this problem. I don’t have such problems after workouts before, but I’m guessing the stress of being locked up at home and the unhealthy diet I’ve been indulging in is actually accumulating toxins in my body, hence the this is one of the way my body detox my system-through the sweat.

Spotting red dots and dashes all over my body is not an appealing thing, and so I decided to do something about it apart from changing my diet; changing my shower gel.

I decided to give this Dove Micellar Shower Gel a go, considering that I’ve tried Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo and was absolutely happy with it, I’m hopeful that Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel.

According to the label, it’s supposed to soothe and purifies by deep cleansing the skin. Well, that’s just the thing that I need, and after using it for a couple of days, I decided that while the shower gel does not instantly gives soothing effect; perhaps because I already have rashes all over prior to using it, it is proven helpful in reducing my heat rashes spots. As of writing, my skin is no longer that spotty and no new spots appeared after workouts anymore after a few days of usage.

The irritations is also lesser now and I no longer have the urge to scratch my skin til it breaks, so I guess this Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel is really helpful in helping me reduce my heat rashes.Yay to that. I no longer have to suffer heat rashes after workouts. The best part about this shower gel is that it’s also gentle enough to be used on the face. It’s surprisingly effective in removing makeups as well and hydrates the skin well.

I’m definitely a happy camper with this Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel and I highly recommend it for those who have especially active lifestyle or those who needs deep cleansing for their skin. Gym goers, sports enthusiasts and those who leads an active lifestyle will most likely appreciate this Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel . It’s not only soothing on the skin, but the green tea scents are refreshing as well. You smell so good after showering with it.

Dove Micellar Detoxifying Green Tea Shower Gel is available at major drugstores in Malaysia at RM22.90.

LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds Review

The CMCO restriction is here to stay again in Klang Valley and I’m forced to limit my movements for God knows how long until the government says it’s okay to go around again. Being an exemplary citizen that I am, I’ve been staying home since 10/10/2020, albeit grudgingly. Grudgingly, because it’s quite stressful for someone who is constantly active and thrive on outdoor activities is forced to stay in the confines of my home. Staying home is indeed suffocating for me, especially when I had to endure endless sound pollutions from my neighbours all day long. One on side, there’s a newborn who cries and scream alot with high pitch tone of voice while on another side there’s a neighbour who is doing some major renovation where all the drilling and demolishing is so loud that it’s migraine inducing.

There is not much I can do to avoid all the noise pollutions around me. It’s not news that I cannot control people and their inconsiderate action. All I can do is find a way to reduce the impact of these noises on me, and I thought, getting myself a decent earphone with good noise cancelling function will do the trick, and so, when LG came up with this LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds with UVnano Charging Case and Meridian Audio, I thought I’d give it a go and see if it’ll somewhat make my life better.

LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds with UVnano Charging Case and Meridian Audio.

First impression:

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds with UVnano Charging Case and Meridian Audio comes with a simple and sleek design with a mini size charging case that fits nicely in the palm of my hand. Once the case is opened, tiny blue LED lights will blink and glow at the silicon ear tips. In all honesty, I was quite surprised when I first opened the case and was effectively impressed with this decorative feature.

Comfort:

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 is really comfortable to wear. The earbuds features soft silicone ear tips that barely gives me any pressure on the ear and wearing it does not restrict my movements in any way. A perfect companion whenever I’m moving around, especially when I’m working out. It also does not fall off easily during fast movements. I’ll have you know that my sword practice and cardio dance movements is no joke but the the LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 did not fall off during my routines, so it’s really a plus point for me here.

Playtime:

Long hour wearing is also not an issue as it gives the ‘barely there’ feeling. I’ve worn it up to 8 hours and until the battery died out and it did not numb or gives discomfort to my ears in any way. The battery time is long lasting as well and it surprisingly went up to 9 hours give and take after a full charge before I needed to give it another charge. The device offers wireless charging so it’s also convenient to bring around if you’re traveling.

Sound quality:

So does the The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 delivers when it comes to sound quality? The earbuds is using the Meridian technology and the sound quality is pleasantly good. Noise cancelling is top notch and once I wore the LG TONE Free HBS-FN6, it’s like I’m in my own world. The music surrounds me well with fantastic clarity of sound. The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 handles a variety of sounds very well, from fast, high bass music to slow bass-less instrumental, they all sound really good. Movie/ drama watching experience through my phone is also elevated with clear vocal transmission.

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 is a two way earphone and it is equipped with dual microphone, so it’s definitely not audio only. It can also be used to answer phonecalls and video calls with great vocal clarity. Another plus point for multitasker.

Hygiene:

One of the feature that I like about this LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 is that it also place an importance not only the sound system but also on the cleanliness and hygiene. The earphone comes with a UVNano charging case that helps to kill off bacteria from the earbuds. However, I’m a clean freak so despite of the device is bundled with this function, I still prefer to wipe the earphone before and after usage to prevent unwanted infections in my ears.

Connectivity:

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 connection gives smooth connection to your devices. I’ve used it with my Android smartphone and my laptop respectively and had no issues with disconnection whatsoever. However, I haven’t gone outdoor since I’m somewhat still on lockdown, so I have yet to try using the earphone outdoors yet so I cannot comment the earphone’s Bluetooth connection when outdoor. I’ll update the review on the earphone once I have to chance to jog or workout outside.

Customisation and device firmware updates:

LG offers an apps to manage this device. It’s called LG Tone free and is available to download for free at the Google Playstore for Android. The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 latest firmware can be updated through and sound tweak customization can be done through the apps as well. The apps is pretty much idiot proof and is easy to use as well, so if you’re to own a pair of this device, if recommend you to have it installed in your phone. The apps does not take much space in your phone and firmware updates are important, anyway. Plus, the apps will enable you to connect your earphone to Google Assistant on your phone, and that is really cool! I absolutely adore this function. It makes the earbuds wearing more wholesome and convenient because I use Google Assistant function on my phone quite alot.

Would I recommend the LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds? Yes, definitely would recommend it, especially for music enthusiasts and multitasker. The device does justice to it’s pricetag and it’s definitely great in creating high quality sound barrier between you and the ‘outside world’. My only complain about the device is that it only comes in black and white colour. I wish there’s more vibrant colour with playful designs imprinted on it for me to choose from. But hey, overall, the device gives an excellent user experience that surpassed my expectations. So it’s a thumbs up and definitely a good device that deserve my praise.

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds is available for purchase on Shopee HERE

Fixing Damaged Hair with Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo

As a scuba diver, it’s quite difficult to maintain smooth, silky and healthy hair like non-divers. Why? Well, it’s because I’m always exposed to either sea water during my open water dives or chlorine infested pool water during my training sessions. My hair is always dry, frazzled and is constantly cursed with split end. And what’s worst is that I suffer dry and itchy scalp. It can get really ugly because all the itchiness makes me wanna scratch my head all the time. And to add insult to injury, I suffer terrible hair loss as well. Whenever I brush through my hair, the hair will drop like crazy and it’s really scary.

Although right now I don’t dive in the open water or the pool as much due to the restrictions imposed by the government because of the Covid19 pandemic, my bad hair days is not getting better. In fact, it seems to be getting worst as I stay home. Not sure what contribute to that but I reckon it’s because of lack of essential vitamins and the skyrocketing stress caused by having to stay home all the time.

I thought of going to salon for treatments but they definitely will not be an enjoyable experience anymore like prior to Covid19 as there are many SOP to follow, and so, I tried this new drugstore shampoo by Dove.

The Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo with Hyaluron+Hydra Complex. The shampoo is supposed to be helpful in keeping the hair smooth and silky and we’ll managed.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m rather skeptical about it cuz I’ve tried plenty of shampoos and yet it doesn’t really help. But I have it a go nevertheless, and after 3 days of continuos usage, I’m happy to report that it actually show results.

My hair is now softer and smoother and easier to managed. My scalp feels somewhat fresh and moisturized throughout the day and it doesn’t itch that much anymore. I stopped having urge to unconsciously scratch my scalp. The flaky dandruffs are now a thing of the past and the best part of all is that when I brushed through my hair after showering, my hair shows significantly lesser drops. It’s really a pleasant experience. My hair now looks better than ever and it’s even bouncy and looks as if it has more volumes upon styling.

I wasn’t expecting this, to be honest as I’ve tried plenty of shampoos but none of them is as effective as Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo.

So is Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo is a yay or nay? Well, personally I think it’s a yay, and I would definitely recommend this to those with unhealthy scalp and hair issues.

I’m convinced that other Scuba divers like me who always have problems maintaining healthy hair will no doubt benefit from this Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo. We no longer have to resort to cutting our hair short to look decently presentable and my dive buddies will be the first I’d recommend to try this shampoo.

The Dove Hyaluron Purifying Serum Shampoo is available in major drugstores and shopping malls in Malaysia at RM30.60.

Stay Home and Shop Malaysian Made Products with PG Mall Proudly Local Sale

What I’ve been fearing since the end of September 2020 finally happened. Covid19 infections is on the raise and CMCO is back with vengeance for those who are living in Sabah and Klang Valley. To say that I’m utterly heartbroken is an understatement since I’m living in Kuala Lumpur, a place where those who resides in falls under the CMCO order. We’re once again advised to work from home and only 2 person per household is allowed to buy essentials. Plenty of other leisure and sports activities are banned as well.

While I still can do shopping the traditional ways in malls, the thoughts and the hassle of going through roadblocks and following strict SOP is a huge turnoff and I can no longer feel the joy and the pleasure of shopping at malls like I used to. Shopping is not a happy and fun thing anymore. It instead has become a horridly lonesome and detestable chore.

Online shopping is much more preferably for me these days. One of my favourite shopping platform is PG Mall.
