And so they say beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. But that phrase does not always stand true, especially in the modern world where we are mostly exposed to all sorts of pollutions on daily basis. When it comes to keeping the youthful and the radiant look, I must say that it takes quite a lot of effort in terms of beauty regime. There are plenty of skincare products in Malaysian market, but how many exactly provides holistic care for your skin? Semarak Bangsawan and Panggung Seni Tradisional 2017 to Mesmerize Performing Art Lovers in Malaysia

Love fairy tales and folklore? I sure do. How about whimsical romance or dramatic tragedy? Well, they may induce me into tears but yes, I like that sort of things too. Showcased it live in the form of theatre plays instead of a movie or TV drama serials? I love it even more. Yes. I’m a performing art lover. And so, when I was informed that JKKN (Jabatan Kesenian and Kebudayaan) is making an effort to elevate Malaysian performing arts to the next level by rei-ntroducing the beauty of olden days theatre plays to both Malaysian and international theatre enthusiasts through their Semarak Bangsawan and Panggung Seni Tradisional 2017 program, I knew I had to check it out.

Malaysian Songstress Noraniza Idris Showcased Aura Collections at Permata Saadah Launching

In the fashion industry, some would swear by the statement ‘less is more’, and when it comes to modest fashion or Muslim/Muslimah fashion, I couldn’t agree more. Muslim/Muslimah fashion may not be quite popular a few decades back in Malaysia and were even labeled as akward and backward but these days it has very much improved in terms of designs and the style has taken the nation by storm.

There are plenty prominent names in the Muslim/Muslimah fashion. Among all of these big names, one that caught my attention recently is Aura by Noraniza Idris.

Those who are familar with the Malaysian entertainment scene may recognize this name. Noraniza Idris is one of the renowned songstress in Malaysia who are famous for her ‘Irama Malaysia’ genre songs.

Despite being rather quiet and low profile these days, her charms and talents is still irresitible. Noraniza Idris was recently appointed as the brand ambassador and spokesperson for Permata Saadah (Wedding Events&Catering Company)

In conjunction with the prestigious event, Noraniza Idris not only serenaded attending guests and members of the media with some of the songs from her newly released single dedicated to Permata Saadah, but showcased her line of Muslim/Muslimah clothing, ‘Aura by Noraniza Idris’ as well. Watch the video of Aura collections by Noraniza Idris being showcased.

Simple and elegent, but still charmingly traditional, the men’s collection, Aura Iman is not only wearable on special events or occasion, but great for daily casual wear as well.

 photo IMG_5276_zpsa44l4al4.jpg

Modest but yet still alluring, the women’s collection (Aura Sari) from Aura is great for those who wanna cover up their ‘aurah’ but still looks fashionable.

Be Enlightened This Wesak Day at Resorts World Genting, Malaysia

Wesak, the most important festival in the Buddhist calendar, takes place tomorrow on Wednesday, May 10 2017—and on this day, devout Buddhists attend their local temple to perform prayers. At Resorts World Genting, the Genting Buddhist Group will hold a number of prayers and activities in conjunction with Wesak Day.

 photo 2016-05-21-PHOTO-00000168_zpso6amtbgm.jpg

To be held at the Genting International Convention Centre (GICC), First World Hotel from 9 to 10 May, the Wesak Day celebration will include a two-day prayer ceremony conducted by the Venerable Fa Quan from the Da Yuan Jiang Tang Temple in Johor. An exhibition will also be held at GICC as part of the celebration on 9 May, and this will be followed by the presentation of the Buddha’s Relic and Dharma Discourse.

Wesak Day celebration traditionally includes the practices of Giving, Virtue and Cultivation, and the doing of good deeds. The act of giving usually involves bringing food to share, as well as symbolic offerings for the temple and shrine. Virtue, on the other hand, is observed by reaffirming one’s commitment to the moral precepts of the religion, while Cultivation usually includes chanting and meditation.

 photo 2016-05-21-PHOTO-00000170_zps6mac06ru.jpg

The Wesak Day celebration at Resorts World Genting will include a series of events including prayers, meditation and chanting sessions, and lamp-lighting. The bathing of the Buddha ceremony is a main highlight, symbolising the elimination of the three evils—Greed, Hatred and Ignorance.

Visitors are also encouraged to participate in the Buddha bathing ceremonies to be held at Chin Swee Temple, 13th Floor Sky Terrace, from 9 to 10 May, 8am to 6pm.

Besides prayers, the Genting Buddhist Group will conduct a fundraising campaign for Sau Seng Lum Dialysis Centre. The centre provides free dialysis care for the poor of all races. As part of the Wesak Day celebration, the Genting Buddhist Group has pledged to contribute to the Dhamagiri Orphanage Centre in order to help fund their monthly expenses that amount to some RM80,000.

 photo IMG_5227_zpspqdhitmd.jpg

Other delicacies that’s worth trying on their menu is the Korean style fried chicken. The fried chicken platter comes in two flavours, regular and spicy with a side of dipping sauces. The Korean fried chicken is adeply fried and flavourful and the platter is great for sharing as the portion is quite big.

 photo IMG_5176_zpsp1tl1tjs.jpg

Soon Dubu Jiggae (RM15). Soon Dubu Jjigae is actually Korean style soft tofu stew. The dish is made with freshly curdled soft tofu, kimchi, mushrooms, onion, seafood and gochujang. This Korean kimchi soft tofu soup has a fiery broth that infuses custardy tofu with deep flavors and spices. Slightly spicy, the soup goes well on it’s own or a bowl of piping hot rice.

 photo IMG_5175_zpsbn6wx8px.jpg

Deonjang Jiggae (RM15). Doenjang Jjigae, or soybean paste stew, is a staple in Korean traditional meals. The earthy flavor of soybean paste is fused with hearty vegetables like Korean radish and enoki mushrooms. The stew is perfected by robust yet soft tofu. Doenjang Jjigae complements meat and fish dishes such as bulgogi, galbi and grilled fish. It also goes well with plain white rice. Highly recommended for children or those who doesn’t like spicy food.

 photo IMG_5177_zpshlaicmmw.jpg

Chamchi Kimchi Jiggae (RM15). Kimchi stew is one of the most-loved of all the stews in Korean cuisine. It’s a warm, hearty, spicy, savory, delicious dish that pretty much everyone loves. The one we had is kimchi stew with tuna. It’s thick, umami-rich and quite spicy. Highly appetizing and goes well with white rice.

 photo IMG_5190_zpscpohnnz0.jpg

This is not on the ‘all you can eat chicken buffet menu’ but it’s must order dish at Hwa Ga: Nurungji Cheese Buldak (RM 65). It’s one of Hwa Ga’s specialty and chef’s recommended. Like most of the set dishes here in Hwa Ga, this dish came with side dishes as well.

 photo IMG_5193_zpsv7ydryqm.jpg

So, what’s Nurungji Cheese Buldak? Simply put, this is actually a whole roasted chicken stuffed with glutinuos rice and topped with cheese and spicy sauce. ‘Nurungji’ refers to a traditional Korean food preparation that involves glutinuos rice with roasted chicken. It consists primarily of a whole chicken filled with glutinous rice, black rice, pumpkin seeds, barley, garlic, ginseng, jujube, ginkgo nut and pine nut. The stuffed chicken is slowly roasted in the rottisserie for a two hours before being cut open and pressed on the grill plate to be served with the saucy toppings and cheese. So is this a yay or nay? Well, after taking a few bites, I must say that although the chicken is stuffed with plenty of herbal ingredients, the herbal taste is not quite overwhelming as the cheesy goodness served as a balancing buffer for it. I didn’t expect to like it but my palate did not disagree with it. In fact, I find myself liking this Nurungji Cheese Buldak very much. Definitely great for those doesn’t fancy herbal food like me, and I’ll be sure to try their other variety of Nurungji Dak dishes on my next visit.

Overall the dining experience here in Hwa Ga is more than pleasant. Friendly staffs, great authentic Korean food and nice ambiance with melodic Korean songs playing in the background makes you feel as if you are in Korea instead of in Malaysia.

A Steamboat Experience at 6,000 ft Above Sea Level in Malaysia: Seafood Sauna Steamboat at Resort Seafood Steamboat Restaurant, Resorts World Genting

I’m a huge fan of steamboat meals (some call it hotpot, but it’s practically the same thing), but more often than not, the ambiance of the steamboat places are not always comfortable despite of their delicious offerings. Those I usually frequent are mostly located on the roadside, catering to large crowds of diners. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I’m the sort of person who can’t do street dining, in fact, I love street food and street dining. They’re really fun, but there are times where you want to just just chill and slowly enjoy your steamboat meals with family and friends at a quiet place, without having to raise your voice just to be heard.

I’ve been scouting for some nice quiet place to enjoy a steamboat meal at, and discovered that Resort Seafood Steamboat at Resorts World Genting somehow topped the list.

 photo IMG_4959_zpszi0cxvnh.jpg

Resort Seafood Steamboat. Located at 6,000 feet above sea level in Resort Hotel at Resorts World Genting, the restaurant not only offers a dining experience at literally a higher level, but absolute seafood enjoyment as well.

For those who seeks privacy and quiet dining experience with a large group of family and friends, you can request to be seated at one of the private rooms.

 photo IMG_4970_zps8x6imnpr.jpg

Resort Seafood Steamboat offers four private rooms, with the first two offerings two huge dining tables that can cater up to 20 persons.

 photo IMG_4966_zpsvpp2ak5k.jpg

For those who prefers to choose their own soup and eat at their leisure instead of sharing a large pot, the third and the fourth room offers a space that can not only accomodate 15 and 20 guests respectively but offers individual steamboat pot option as well.

 photo IMG_4939_zpshkfbkctb.jpg

Here’s yours truly and the hosts of the day. We were seated at one of the private rooms.

 photo MAKEUP_20170429014427_save_zpskoibrn6u.jpg

The restaurant’s current steamboat highlight as of writing is this; Seafood Sauna Layer Pot Set. It comes pre-assembled with seafood items arranged in tiers.

 photo 20170423_141441_zpsbxi8ygcj.jpg

The restaurant offers three different steamboat packages ranging from RM756- RM1,650 to allow diners to make their selection from an array of raw and marinated ingredients, which then can be cooked at their table, but here’s the one that we tried; the Seafood Sauna Layer Pot, a set for 8 pax-10pax (RM688 for Genting Rewards card members and RM758 for non members).

 photo IMG_20170503_031256_zpsbkvalcyk.jpg

This showcasing of the freshest and luxurious seafood meal is pretty unique. It is supposed to be eaten layer by layer while being steamed. Should you order this set, be sure to inform your dining partners about it and be patient while digging in instead of spreading all the layers on the table and attacking all the seafood items simultaneously like you would do a regular steamboat/hotpot meal. You’ll ruin the real experience and miss all the sauna seafood real enjoyment if you do that. Instead of dumping all the items into the soup base and eating everything all at once like you do the regular steamboat or a hotpot meal, work on eating the seafood items from the top layer to the second and finally savor the Salmon fish head soup base by adding the accompanying platter of steamboat items and the side of spinach before you completely finish off the meal by dumping the fried rice into the leftover soup and make a porridge out of it.The flavours of the seafood on subsequent layers gets better and more distinctive as you go along. This is because the top layer’s seafood juices will drip into the next layer through the pot’s holes bit by bit, showering the concealed bottom pot with juicy seafood goodness.

 photo IMG_20170503_031946_zpsex25jdxx.jpg

First layer of seafood galore consists of grass prawns, squids, scallops, green mussels and sweet corns. I cannot comment much on the green mussels and the squids as I was kept busy by the fat grass prawns and scallops. The grass prawns were naturally sweet and absolutely delicious and if I were to have it my way, I would have finish off all the prawns myself, leaving none for others. Yes. The prawns were that good.

 photo IMG_20170503_032047_zpsz4dmddxo.jpg

Magnificent second layer were made of huge live crabs and sweet corns. Working through this layer of the pot was much more interesting than the first layer. It might only contain just two items, which is just the live crabs and the sweet corns, but it is certainly more flavourful than the previous layer as this layer of items has fully absorbed the seafood juices from the previous layer. I’ve taken a bite of the sweet corns from the first layer of the pot and found it just normal in terms of flavours, but the sweet corns from this layer of the pot was to die for. The sweetness of the corns were truly enhanced by the seafood juices and it actually tasted fruitier. The crabs, needless to say, were satisfyingly flavourful and meaty.

 photo 20170423_135433_zps3t0mdvug.jpg

Third layer contains the flavourful Salmon fish head soup; the one that gets better and better as you slowly feast on the top layers of seafood offerings. All the juices from the top layers dripped into this one and the perfect way to enjoy this is by adding in the accompanying platter of steamboat items when you finally finished off the top layers of seafood sauna. It will turn the normal looking Salmon fish head soup base into something entirely different. Once you are done with the platter of steamboat ingredients, crack in some eggs, add in the spinach and the ginger egg fried rice and make a porridge out of the remaining soup base. I promise you that it will be the best tasting porridge you’ll ever tasted, with all the juicy seafood drips enhancing the flavours of the grains.

 photo IMG_20170503_032242_zpsn6loomsc.jpg

Here’s the accompanying platter of assorted steamboat items that we dumped into the Salmon fish head soup base to be throroughly cooked: enokitake mushrooms, Shittake mushrooms, King of oyster myshrooms, fuzuk mushroom rolls, unbreaded crabmeats, Teowchew wantans, sui kow dumplings, chilli fishballs, chicken supreme slices and fishballs.

 photo 20170423_135333_zpsskusfpve.jpg

A closer look at the assorted mushrooms on the platter. Spotted suspects: Enokitake mushrooms, Shittake mushrooms, Shimeiji mushrooms and King of oyster myshrooms. I’m a huge fan of mushrooms and therefore I was absolutely delighted when I found these being included in the Seafood Sauna Layer Pot set. Mushrooms has always made the soup more more interesting and in this case, it did help to add more ‘umami’ flavours to the Salmon fish head soup base. A bonus? The meaty mushroom texture is fun to eat too.

 photo 20170423_135406_zpskzoahopq.jpg

Fuzuk mushroom rolls. Filled with mushroomy goodness, these fuzuk mushroom rolls can be quite addictive.

 photo 20170423_135411_zpslfsm78j3.jpg

Unbreaded crabmeats. Not having to crack the crab open to enjoy the meat, crab meat fans will definitely love this.

 photo 20170423_135415_zpsc8jxmezw.jpg

Teowchew wantans. One of the cutely wrapped up items on the plate that packs quite some flavours in it.

 photo 20170423_135422_zpsdslaeru8.jpg

Sui kow dumplings. My favourite item whenever my family and I go for a seafood meal. Just don’t ask how many I took during this meal and I’ll tell you no lies. They’re fantastic, but please be sure not to leave them in the soup for too long, or the skin will turn soggy. Sure, they’ll be still nice to eat even when they’re overcooked but you’d want to enjoy it when it’s just nicely cooked.

 photo 20170423_135343_zpsibhn7wfo.jpg

Chilli fishballs. Not a spicy item despite of it’s name. Just more flavourful, so don’t be afraid to indulge on these. They don’t bite you.

 photo 20170423_135346_zpsxgkrtbzz.jpg

Chicken supreme slices. Neatly rolled up and nicely presented on the platter. I had two slices of these during the meal and thought how good it will be if I can have these at home too, especially for breakfast or in my sandwiches. The chicken supreme slices goes pretty well with the soup base. I wanted more of them after my second slice but unfortunately for me, my tummy barely have space for extras after all the earlier seafood indulgence.

 photo 20170423_135403_zpsutakb6x0.jpg

Fishballs, made from real fishes and not just fake and artificial flavourings. I gave this a miss in favour of other items on the platter, so I can’t comment on the taste. Sometimes, I really do wish I have a bigger tummy to fit in more food.

 photo 20170423_135321_zpsoxg6jnan.jpg

Spinach, our source of fibre of the day. We were so excited with our seafood feast that we nearly forgotten about the spinach that’s sitting on the side sadly. A complete waste should we really overlooked this fresh bundle of green goodness. It’s a refreshing addition after all the seafood that we had.

 photo 20170423_134055_zpstktmbrfh.jpg

Last but not least, the Ginger Egg Fried rice. Good on it’s own, but here I wouldn’t really recommend you to eat them the usual way you eat fried rice. Having this at the beginning of the seafood sauna steamboat meal is a no no too as it will take up the space in your tummy before you could even begin to enjoy other seafood. This fried rice makes a great finishing touch to the leftover soup base when you’re almost done with your seafood sauna steamboat meal, so remember to save this for the last. Generously fried with ginger slices and eggs, this Ginger Egg Fried Rice will turn into one of the best porridge you ever tasted when you dumped it in the soup base at the end of the meal. I managed to make mine at the end of my meal, and I am absolutely glad I saved this for the last.

 photo 20170423_142106_zps1cbbgllm.jpg

Like most steamboat places, Resort Seafood Steamboat also offers an array of specially made dipping sauces to go with your meal. There are plenty of addictive ones here and in the picture here are just half of the variety of dipping sauces that they have to offer, but if you want to really savor the natural sweetness of the seafood and the soup, just go without the dipping sauce. The seafood are all fresh and they’re already good to be eaten on its own.

Overall, the dining experience here surpassed my high expectation. But despite of the fast service and great hospitality from the service crew in this restaurant, this particular meal is not for those who are busy on a tight schedule or rushing as you will need at least 1 hour to fully enjoy the entire meal. It is also not for those who can’t put away their gadgets at mealtime as well. This steamboat dining concept is created for you to slowly enjoy your food with your dining partners as you chit chat and catch up with each other. Great concept, I must say, considering most of us are married to our gadgets and smartphones and rarely make any face to face interaction anymore, even at dining tables during mealtimes. I highly recommend this Seafood Sauna Layer Pot for any sort of personal or business gatherings.

Should you want to experience all these fantastic food at literally a higher level while fostering togetherness as you do so, go on ahead to Resort Seafood Steamboat Restaurant at Resorts World Genting and order any of the Seafood Sauna Layer Pot set meal on their menu. I can assure you that once is not enough and you’ll be craving for a second experience in no time.

 photo Screenshot_2017-05-01-04-47-18-1_zpswbajctxe_edit_1493585473886_zpsm1umo2an.jpeg

In times of economic uncertainty, it is a prudent decision to think about Singapore real estate investments. Real estate investments are perhaps the world’s safest investments. They are investments that cannot be stolen, lost or carried away. Empirical evidence has proved that if you invest smartly in real estate, you are bound to get good results.

Today, Singapore is regarded as an A-rated economy with strong growth capabilities. It has a stable economy and is a hot destination for individuals who are interested to get long-term benefits. The last few years have seen an exponential growth of foreign investors who are ready to invest here and make some good deals.

The market of Singapore property investment is favorable for foreign investors for a number of good reasons. The ownership laws here are completely clear and transparent. There is security of property rights too. The laws and regulations protect the buyers and the investor need not have to pay any capital gains tax. The foreigners are eligible for Singapore dollar mortgage loan. All these facilities allure more number of investors to take interest in the real estate market of Singapore.

The Government here has also given a strong commitment to real estate to attract a lot of foreign investors. It is a truly cosmopolitan city where foreigners find it easy to settle. It has a world class infrastructure with excellent roads, ports, and air transport facilities. It is all because of all these reasons that foreigners are interested in Singapore property investment. Findings show that Singapore is expected to benefit from a healthy growth in the market of real estate for many more years to come.

Investing in the Singapore property can be your alternative source of income. You can go ahead and make the investments in real estate along with your current occupation. The best thing is that you can expect good returns on property investments without taxing yourself. The returns that you scour by investing in the property are more than what you get by venturing in any other occupation. There are several benefits of investing in the property. The feeling of being called the landlord or landlady will seep energy within you. If you are in the right direction, obviously, you can maximize your returns from the property investments.

But, before you go any further and take the decision to invest in any property, you need to have some guide. Here are the guides on the property investments to foreighners that will help you to make the right decision:

Do the research -You need to stay on the top, and for one reason you even deserve it. Property investments are coupled with research. It means you have to carry out research with respect to the location, area and your country. If you have done good research on the location, area and other aspects, surely, you’d see your investments growing.

Allocate the budget for investment – You need to allocate the budget for the property investments by figuring out land value, mortgage expenses, investment route, etc. It is better that you become serious about your budgetary allocations in the very starting! Of course, when it comes to the actual payment, you will need to prepare the payment for deposit and the setting in place of deadlines for payment of other fees (such as stamp duties).

Decide on your goals – Nothing comes out really well without the goals. In case of property investments, you need to set up your goal. You need to think objectively on your purpose behind investing in the property. Do you want to invest for the purpose of earning residual income? Do you want to earn one-time huge profit? Do you want to invest for the future? Think over on your goals!

Experience of property agent – It is a good idea that you will be investing in the real estate market. But, investing without the right kind of professional guidance can put your investments into a complete mess. Therefore, hire a professional and experienced real estate agent. A real estate agent will work as your consultant and you can seek financial advice when you invest in the real estate. A point of caution here! Make sure that you are frank with the property agent and discuss with him openly about the location, price and other aspects of the real estate property that you intend to buy.

Type of property – You need to have good and clear picture on the type of property that you wish to buy considering the abundance of property available in Singapore such as HDB, BTO, EC, Condominiums, Apartments, and Landed Housings. In this case, a real estate agent will be of immense help to you. But, have to put in place your common sense too. You should inspect the property and pay attention to the furnishings, fixtures and other value additions. Property investments are long term and high profile investments by all means. Your satisfaction is of great importance before you finally close the property deal.

Location – One of the key deciding factors in the property investment is the location. A good location will bring you awesome returns in the future. Your investments on the property will double or treble and it would be a sound gain. If the property location is not good, it is less likely that you could see its market value rising. Location plays a very crucial role in the property investment.

Reason for purchase – Are you purchasing the property for your family? Do you want to rent the property? If you are seeing your property as a long term investment and want to rent it, make sure that you check its rental yield. Prime locations usually have very high rental yield because the property in such types of locations are in high demand.

So, be smart and start searching for good deals now!

In the property market of Singapore, all types of properties flourish. There are both residential and commercial buildings for sale in the property launch. The residencial house is mostly in the form of apartments located in various districts of Singapore. The apartments here have the best of facilities and located very close to all the necessary civic amenities. The commercial buildings are built and rented out to companies. You can purchase either the part of the property or also the complete property.

It is also recommended to choose the right builder so that the quality is maintained. The property websites do have discussion forum which comprise of like minded people who discuss about the property. Participating in such forums can help you get real information about Singapore property and its builders. Taking a calculated risk and investing in new property lauch Singapore would prove great profits.

It is not so difficult to find out about the opportunities that are there in the real estate market of Singapore. There are dozens of platforms that provide plenty of information about real estate bulk purchase and crowdfunding in Singapore. These platforms are for those who want take keen part in the ideas or projects created by the opportunity providers.

The platforms that educate investors and individuals about different real estate projects are really helpful. An investor gets ample opportunity to survey the market and find out what new offers and hot deals are there. If you too are a real estate enthusiast, prefer taking help of these online platforms. They are surely going to help you get positive results.

Majority of people in Singapore are contacting their property dealers and real estate businessmen in order to set up their business or buy a new place nearby. People dream about purchasing property in Singapore and now these dreams have come true by taking a drastic turn. On an average, 10 in 50 men buy property every day in Singapore to make this a better place.

Corrective Contraption for Teenagers with Bad Posture

Carrying heavy school bags can take quite a toll on a child’s body. As time goes by, they develop hunchback and bad posture. But we don’t have much choice in Malaysia but to allow our children carry schoolbags as heavy as 7-8kg daily as most public schools in Malaysia does not have lockers for the children to manage or store their books for daily lessons.

Where to Eat in Kuala Lumpur: BUILT Custom Burgers, NU Sentral

I’m can be quite particular when it comes to food at times, especially burgers. In my youth, I hated all things greens, and therefore any sort of vegetables is a no no no in my burger. But as I grew older, I acquired the taste for more veggies, more cheese and more pickles in my burgers. Problems? Sadly, yes. I don’t always get to choose what to put to put in my burgers unless I make them myself at home.

But lucky me, BUILT Custom Burger in Nu Sentral allow their customers to customize their own burgers, and having heard about that, I knew I must check it out.
